In less than 5 years, my hosting increase more than 100%... is this normal?
Since 2013 $107.88 and this year 2017 become $227.76...

When I ask them, they replied:

I completely understand your concern regarding your renewal pricing. We feel that the value of our services offered at their normal price far surpasses other web hosts, and we greatly appreciate you for hosting with us. Our hosting renewal rates increased recently due to significant upgrades that have been made to our servers and the services we provide. This price increase will also allow us to continue investing in the best technology to make our hosting services even better.

And they said the price will be increasing every year...

I am a bit worried the next bill, anyone can advice

Many thanks!

Difficult to offer any advice other than find another hosting company if you're not happy where you are.

You don't say what your hosting requirements are, but there's no shortage of options. The only caution I'd give is to avoid any company that's part of the Endurance International Group (EIG) which took over Bluehost in 2010, as it's not an organization renowned for its customer service.

The prices stayed the same for several years - now you have an upgrade and dedicated IP added.

It's still less than $20 per month. If you can't afford it, change host accts.

You have a signature that says "traffic strategies" that (when it works) goes to a "health" site. If you are working online, your site should be paying for its hosting by now..

You can get Hostgator shared hosting for around $13 a month.

I have no idea how much bandwidth you use.

I don't think you are paying too much You are paying $19 a month - that's reasonable to me.

The company has a right to change prices on their products. You are free to move to a different host company. Do the research and decide what to do.

If you ask about hosting here - you'll have all sort of people recommending different hosts because that's what they use. Others will post warnings they read elsewhere.

Anyone wanting to know what HG charges can go to the site and find out. In this case I think the dedicated IP adds $2-3 a month - no idea what the hosting account consists of.

If you add up all that's been paid over the years - the monthly fee has averaged less than $12.50 a month. Not what I would call a ripoff. The OP stayed for years when price was increasing....if it's too high he should find another host. Simple solution.

Has the service improved Steve? If your site is quicker, and stays up more, could be better service aka, raising prices as they gradually overload servers less and less. Other than that, feel free to shop around to find a better match.

Just to chime in with the fact that BlueHost is owned by the same company as HostGator.

Also, I have been with HostGator for 7 years and the price has also gradually doubled. The price is still reasonable though so I haven't moved (yet).

It's the usual tactic of luring people in on a special offer and then upping the price, just a bit more stealthy as they only add on a bit a year.

One of my Hostgator accounts doubled in price....why?

Because I took advantage of the annual HG sale of 50% off.
I paid by the year and had 50% off the entire year's hosting acct. It was a reseller acct at $25 a month - so the first year I paid only $150. The next year I paid $300. Did the price go up? Nope - it went back to normal pricing.

I've had another HG reseller acct for 15 years now - and the switch to EIG had no affect on my hosting. Initially, that acct was $23.95/mo....15 years later it's $24.95.

On the HG 50% off sale...if you pay by the month you get special pricing for one month....pay for a year and get the sale price for an entire year. I don't see that as "luring" - I see it as a good time to buy hosting.

As for EIG - there were definitely some rough patches when they took over at HG, etc...but the hosting is there - hasn't gone out of business - and is running smoothly for me and many others. May be time to re-evaluate the 'anti-EIG' stance - things change.
