Help me make my first 1$ online - 9 month old website

Hello, i have a website that i have been working on for the past 9 months - I regularly post articles and videos and promote my articles on reddit, pinterest, forums etc.

My niche is social anxiety and shyness (I cannot link to my website for you guys to see because my post always gets deleted when i do)

I basically really want to start making money as i feel that it has been long enough... And also i cannot stand my day job and i am wasting an ENORMOUS amount of time there... Yes it pays the bills, but i am really committed to making my exit out of the job world! I dont think i will be able to witstand 2 or even 1 more year of bassically having no life (working from 9 to 5, then comute and super, by the time i get to work on my biz its 7:30) I put everything on hold for this and i am going to make it work!

My questions:

1. Should I start having affiliate links that promote other peoples products, or should i sell my eBook on kindle?

2. I am looking at this in the long term, should i focus on building my email list more (my email groth is very slow - i only have 15 subscribers) instead of starting to sell stuff or it dosen't really matter?

It's hard for me to imagine someone working on a website for 9 months and not trying to monetize it until now? 9 months is a lot of time down the drain if you don't really have any assets to show for it.

Always sell as soon as possible. The first person in your autoresponder should have been presented with offer(s), as well as, every person after them. It only takes one person to make a purchase.

These days, you don't need much more than a product and/or service, a source of target traffic and a platform to present your offer to target.

If you're looking at this long term, you should build out several products over time and focus on driving traffic to those product.

What's the biggest problem that people with social anxiety have? Can you fix it with a short video or very short eBook (15 pages or less)?

hey Gambino, thx for the feed back!

I dont know why I did not try to monotize until now, I taught I heard that you were not suppose to start monotizing straight away, but im glad it was a mistake, lesson lerned, im a little late but the party aint over!

I recently created an auto responder for my list and i now present them with 2 offers in 10 emails sent every 2 days... These offers are affiliate programs that sell very well on click bank, and my book that iv written on amazon.

I also revamped my sqeeze page, do you recomend i send all my traffic there? Its bassically a free giveaway with an opt-in, i use it to build my email list since this is the main way im thinking of promoting offers to my followers.

My goal is to quit my dead end job by december 31 2018. I basically have to make 1,600$ / month with my online buisiness, 3 months in a row to give me a green light to quit. If I can do it sooner the better!

      Thx!

Yes you should monetize by selling other peoples stuff as well as your own.

But before all that...are you building your brand?

And...are you getting traffic...and enough traffic?

I see so many people online complaining they aren't getting sales but when you visit there website you can't find 'them'.

No picture, no name no nothing.

People buy you first and your products second.

And if you don't have traffic there would be no one to buy your stuff.

Lastly...Even if your niche is regarding 'Social Anxiety', your visitors will still need to see you up front...as their leader / guide.

I like that! They need to see me as their leader/guide! Ill make sure to incorporate that inside on my website.

No im not getting alot of traffic, but iv been told getting ranked in google can take a really long time so my plan was to just keep posting articles and videos and promoting my website on social media and other websites... I was also thinking of getting into facebook ads to send all that traffic to my sqeeze page to build my email list faster.

Working on a site for 9 months and no return. Someting is definitely wrong.
Could be niche, or lack of traffic.

How many pages do you have?

Are you also building you off-page seo?

How many visitors do you have? You have Google Analytics, right?

High achievers never quit, when something dosent work, they just switch their approch...

Switch it up, try new stuff, youll eventually find somthing that works, most important is to not quit

    Hey Jake,

It's fine - share your link if it will help you express your focus on improvement.

If it's an ebook, why not try to build your audience by leveraging on Affiliate Marketers? Put your book in front of affiliate marketers and try to gain their business by incentivising the sales. This doesn't necessarily mean give 100% commissions, but you want to empower your affiliates with the right tools to sell. Let that be graphics, an email sequence, copy, banners etc..

Rule #1230981231231 of marketing with ebooks: don't let an ebook be your final offer.

First priority should be list building, then promote affiliate products through autoresponder messages.

Keep it like 3 contents follow by one affiliate promotion.

Hey man, I appriciate your tenacity to work on a webite for 9 straight months and not get anything in return.
There are quite a few things you can do with your website.
    1. Promote Clickbank products.
    2. Start email marketing.
    3. Amazon affiliate ads.

    4. If your traffic is too generic and you don't think it'll convert on selling affiliate products? Check out AdSense or some other advertising platform.

Since you are worried about your email list. I wouldn't recommend you spamming a lot of emails at once.
Just send out one nicely written email and see how the audience reacts.

    Just my 2 bits.
