Best practice for distributing a video?

Hi all,

As part of our traffic strategy, we're currently creating four quality videos each month to give away to our target audience. We want to get the greatest mileage out of each video, e.g. provided to the list, on YouTube, Facebook group, on the blog, etc. I was wondering if there's any kind of majority opinion on the best protocol for this? For example:

- Does it make any difference if I publish a video on my blog first, before uploading to somewhere like YouTube?

- When providing the video the Facebook group, should we upload the video to Facebook or provide a link to the video on YouTube or the blog?

- Should the list receive a link to the video on the blog or direct to YouTube (or no difference?)

I don't mean to overthink things; we just want to get a procedure in place that we can stick to, and likely gives us the best bang for our buck. Any pointers would be very welcome!

The only true way is to test what works , as what I do may not work you same as others , so the old A/B is the way to go

1- Upload the video to you tube. This will get you more exposure and organic views.

2- Upload the video to Facebook. FB videos have larger thumbnails and are native giving you a higher CTR than if you just posted your you tube vid there.

This is refurbishing your video on FB for more exposure.

3- Now in regards to your list...

    - You can publish your you tube video on your blog (giving your vid more ranking power) and then send your list to your blog post.

This is pointing one backlink (your blog post) to your you tube video.

This will also make you look more professional with authority to your list.

In order to get more mileage out of each video, you need to make sure your video is ranking high on Google & Youtube.

Yes, it does make a difference when you upload video on you blog first and then upload on Youtube. Because they are 2 different entities at that time. So, better you upload your video on Youtube and Embed it on your website. This will help when it comes to ranking.

FB likes to have people with in the platform. There are 2 ways you can do ... you can share your original Youtube Video on FB as-is .. This will help your Youtube Video in ranking. Second option is .. create a teaser for your actual youtube video and upload the teaser to FB with your YT link in the post message. This will serve both the needs.

If your intent is to rank your video, then list should receive your YT link. Else, your blog link. Actually, why not use both? Based on your conversion metrics, have one link in the beginning of your email and other link in the bottom of your email. This will help you not loose, but do split test your campaigns.
Other way of doing this could be, by sending the YT link first day and then just send your blog link the other day.

Make sure you call your website name and offer with in the videos like .. in the lower thirds .. This can help you get the viewers attention.

Just my 2 cents .. Dint mean to complicate though

Publishing on a blog - self-hosted, that you built up into valuable real estate - helps. As does sharing on platforms like facebook and YoutTube.
