How Big Is Your Computer Screen?

Hey,

so, here's the deal. I am having a custom wordpress theme created for my blog and while he was at it, I asked my programmer to make the triangle that's simillar to the WarRoom one I see in the lower right hand corner of the screen here.

I turned on a free piece of software called Sizer which resized my active window to smaller resolution than what I normally use and I noticed that my triangle was in the way, so this question came to mind...

How big is your guys' computer screen?

Mine is 24''.

Mine is two 27 inch monitors side by side with extended desktop...

    3968 x 1152 baby!

I upgraded from one 26 inch because I work bouncing between so many apps and reviewing so many varying types of content.

Now That's a monster! I am thinking about getting a support screen for my computer for the exact same reason.

I can understand using two screens, but why did you just not add another 26 inch screen if you went with the same max resolution? I mean if you are working with a maximum resolution of 1920 (and one at ?2048?...I'm confused by your total res...differing ??aspect ratios??), if you don't go for a monitor with a much higher resolution, at 27", I can only imagine the clarity must suffer. I mean at 1920 max res on 24", I'm already finding it difficult.

bummer - thought with a 23inch Acer I'd be good - but no, reading this post I now have pixel envy....

I use a KVM and RDP to reach the other computers in my office.

But the 2 servers are on the other side of the basement - bloody things are LOUD! SSH/VNC/RDP only with them, though I do have an old 21 CRT for them. CRTs are a dime a dozen now. I looked to sell it on craigslist but I would have spent more in gas delivering the monstrosity.

24" Dell in the office and 60" plasma downstairs for the living room PC.

For general work use I find the plasma awkward but it's fine for the odd bit of reading on the sofa.

I tried a 30" for the main office PC and found it to much, to much scanning left/right.

24" worked perfectly for me and allows me to easily open 2 windows at once , saves tabbing constantly.

I used to use my 52" TV for a monitor, but decided to go with a more business-like setup and got a new desk and a 22-inch Acer. I would like to add another 22-inch Acer because I always seem to have 4-5 different windows/tabs open at one time.

A little over a year ago I went out to the stores all set to get a MacBook but then I saw the 24" iMacs and immediately started frothing and foaming at the mouth. It wasn't pretty but those screens sure were and I bought one then and there. I 'crossed over' and sold my soul to the 'MacDaddy'.

When I brought it home I realized I needed a wider desk cause when I sat down to take it for a test drive, I felt like I was at the movies sitting in the front row, burning out my retinas.

I now sit the 24" shimmering beast almost 2 feet back from me and I stare at it in awe. It's my pride and joy.

I also put XP on it via Parallels Desktop so I can run everything I need on the one machine. Although I did have to install a 6 foot solid titanium partition, cause we all know that Steve and Bill don't play well together in the sand pit.

Anyways, my retinas too have now permanently adjusted by expanding out to 24". So I'm all set now. God help me if they bring out a 50", cause I know I'll just have to get one of those too.

Feel a bit sorry though for my 15" Dell laptop sitting over there gatherin' dust. I fire it up every now and then out of sympathy but compared to the iMac, it feels like I'm working on one of those label makers.

Now if you'll excuse me I gotta go put some more eye drops in.

If I was able to find a 22" at a 1920x1200 (damn all the 16:9 aspect ratios..who uses the computer to watch high definition blue ray movies anyways). I would downgrade from a 24" just to get some extra clarity (and remove this monstrosity).

I have a 24" and I love the larger viewing area. That and it seems like the print is getting smaller as I am getting older. So there is more room for the larger font sizes. And then watching videos and tutorials things are a better size.
