Google Alerts - email

I am receiving Google alert emails from Google for some of the keywords. But don't know what to do with them.

How exactly you use them to improve your site????

    Have it set up so you're only getting alerted when a specific keyword that you're targeting is indexed... Then take a look at that web page and see how they're using the keyword and what they're saying in their content... I use google alerts to keep up on everyone else's content; then just reverse engineer what they're doing and try to be better.

    I use Google Alert for many things. But the two main things that I use it for is the following:

    1. Spying on my competition - I use there RSS Feeds to keep a eye on what they are doing. If they write an article, I then write two articles, if they post a video I make two videos. and etc...

    2. I also use Google alert for plagiarism of my content. When I create say a article, I will also take the time out to put up a Google alert of the article title. This give me the ability to see who is taking my content and not giving me credit I.E. a link back to my site.

    Those are the two main reasons I use Google Alert, but there are many other ways to use it.

      Good idea. We can know which websites are posting the articles. I usually paste my article title with quotes in Google and search for it. But the above idea works better.

    Hi,

    I use google alerts for article ideas. It is an easy way to keep track of the latest news in your niche.

    I also have alerts for my name and my website url so I know if either of those are mentioned.
