I've been promoting affiliate/ CPA offers for over 16 years.

I prefer to promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. This is because there's no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher than offers that require a sale to be made.

I favor offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them, this is what has overall worked best for me. As they tend to have the greatest mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience) so the potential exists to generate high volume and they are fairly easy to cross promote on the back-end.

Some of the verticals (niches) that I have done extremely well with are: insurance, education, loans, credit, debt, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, homeowner offers, etc...

I have also done just as good with dating website sign ups and pretty good with free trial + S/H offers. I also promote a very limited number of offers that are straight up purchase offers. However, mass appeal needs to exist and I look for one of the following to also exists: 1) New and or novel/unique and you can't purchase locally or even something similar. I don't waste my time with it once something similar shows up in Walmart. 2) The buyer can truly get it at a decent discount. 3) Solves a house is on fire type problem. Which most of all of the above I will promote on the back-end.

I stick with the PPL offers for front-end offers because they offer the path of least resistance to generating conversions / $$$.

Bottom line: it's far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

Online lead generation is a multi-billion dollar industry. Done right it can be far more profitable than many imagine. Everyone that I know that is in the business and knows what they are doing, for the most part, does 6-7 figures. While that's a huge range, much comes to one's ability to scale and effectively build / manage the infrastructure needed to scale.

    Something to think about.

Choosing a affiliate programs isn't a difficult job. Choose a product that suits your blog niche which is also helpful for your readers. This will help you to give your users more valid information about the products which you are promoting.

Well all things being equal I would go with Hosting and Autoresponder anything that will pay you again next month and the month after and....you get it.

But if you already have a product and just wondering what network...go where the Aff Mgrs are the most helpful. And that for me means they increase your payout give you products to promote that are not public for everyone etc.
