  • Don't waste your time with reviews. I can tell you that you are going to waste your time and get 0 results.

Way too many people and websites all competing with each other to get high rankings and make easy sales.

    • Ya. I have never done this before. Good that you cautioned me before time. I realize if I have to do this, it has to be done correctly if at all I pursue this

    • Well, you're referring to SEO when you say he will get zero results, correct? What if he were to promote his product reviews elsewhere?

  • OP...Reviews are competitive but they are a very powerful way to sell your products online. If you aren't afraid of hours and hours of hard work...

1- Research: Research your products that you want to review and then compile that info on your own site.

2- SEO (without a way to compete against all those other review sites, your biz is dead in the water).

3- Call To Action (make sure that you direct your visitors to the next step).

4- Lead Capture Page: Collect Leads.

5- Patience (it could take you 3 months to a full year just to get your reviews to start ranking and getting you traffic).

  • Unless you're an SEO guru, product reviews won't make you much money

Most don't make any money with such content

    Why?

They pick the wrong product to review

    They pick the wrong format

They SEO their pages the wrong way

    • Ya. Thanks. Meaning I need to first learn the best of the SEO techniques before getting into this type of online business.
  • There will be a lot of school of thoughts on this.

One good place to start to learn this kind of marketing will be wealthy affiliate.

Only thing is I do not like reviews which really bash up products just to drive people to join their programs and it is not in line with their way of marketing.

The initial part on getting ranked high on Search Engines will not be easy and the best way to start will be by sending your email list to your reviews.

This way, you get traffic to your site, you are not hard selling to your list, and you can earn affiliate commission while doing this.

    • Meaning it has to be a combination of reviews as well as list building for this kind of business model to work

      Is it correct ?

  • Well, I believe product review websites work the website. It is true that my hands are good on SEO and so almost all my sites rank well in Google results.

However, for SEO you can hire someone at upwork.com for $10 and do the basic job for you. Rest the review should go from you. Should be detailed, informative and not repeat the information already available on the product sales page.

Viewers who visit your review are already 50% convinced and need in-depth information about the product so they can make a final decision. Reading your review, they may either skip or buy the product through your links.

So, in order to write a product review:

    1. You should know what the product is all about, what it does, how it helps and how long it takes to show results.
    2. You should have access to the product so that you are able to show pieces of content as proof to the viewers. Most of the vendors give affiliate review access on request, ask for one to the affiliate manager of the product.
    3. Do not forget to mention about money back guarantee, the actual cost (front end) and your final opinion about the product. Whether it is good, or bad.
    4. If you are mentioning about the bad points, write them in a positive way. After all, you are writing a review for viewers to buy, isn't it?

    • Thanks Nisha

The 4 points you mentioned seem to be the perfectly logical way to approach this

      This was very helpful

  • Why not just hire people to write the reviews for you? It will allow you to focus your time and energy on other things for your affiliate site.
