G' Day Guys,

Just wondering if any coders have a good recommendation for a php encoder?

Thanks for your help,

Sincerely,

  • Zend Optimizer

    www.zend.com

BTW: Did you ever check your pm box?
  • Depends if you are encoding purely for protection or for speed?

Zend, Ioncube are great for speed and protection but are pretty expensive. If you are just looking for protection and control over distribution then you may want to look at CodeLock.

CodeLock V2.0 - The PHP / HTML script and code Encryptor

That is a great little system that helps coders like me protect their stuff.

    Hope that helps...
  • Since I am most likely going to add encription to parts of my software soon I have done some research on what forms of php encription are available and how secure they are.

Zend is easy to break. Virtually all torrent sites have one of the many programs which can break Zend encoding. The same for Codelock, SourceGuardian, and most other forms of encription.

While not completely impossible to break, Ioncube is currently the best option if you are wanting to protect your code. From the research I have done there are currently no programs widely available which can break Ioncube. There is one website that advertises it can break the code for a fee, but so far I haven't seen any programs which anyone can download. Not saying there aren't any, but I haven't been able to find any in the research I have done.
  • Hi Paul,
Best 2 products on the market that can not be decoded. All others that I have seen can be decoded.

PHP Encoder, protection, installer and performance tools from ionCube: Home

PHP Development & Production Software - PHP Tutorials Training & Certification - Learn PHP - Zend.com

Personally I use ioncube which is just as good as zend only does not have that huge price tag that zend does.

    • James,

Zend can be decoded. I have a program on this computer that can decoded Zend right now. Go to any torrent site and you can find the DeZender program. Zend was broken several years ago and right now you can easily decode Zend for PHP 4 and PHP 5.

  • Is there an encoder available that doesn't require additional setup for the end user?

    • Hi Mark,
Yes ioncube does not require anything from the user.. When you encrypt the script you include the loaders for it. Upload the script and install, the end user does not need anything.

Ofcourse they need a server and a upto date one would be recommended

  • I'd go for IonCube as well - great system!

    cheers
