Tip for video marketing

You see my mistake is that I created a lot of short videos with no real value, only for making people go to clickbank products in my video's description. This was a big mistake because now I think I have 3000+ videos and they give me very very little traffic. Some time ago I started a new channel in my niche with only 12 videos and I add value to people and the videos are longer - more than 4 minutes. What I see is that they get good views everyday and today I checked the keywords and I saw that more than 50% of my videos are ranked, very happy about this. So my conclusion is don't underestimate YT, it's smarter than you think. The real tip to rank is to add value.

Great points. Forget about trying to rank short videos using 'manipulative' tools. That is work by itself because those tactics don't last long.

    Instead...Just like OP said...

    Create. Value based videos.

Manipulation. I love hearing that word because so few folks are aware of how they are trying to manipulate people or circumstances. Sheds light. Major league truth serum.

Well said. I learned the hard way with this one myself. I was basically making short nonsense, but popular videos and pitching products in the description. I made nothing from it! In the end youtube slapped me for using subme now to get the videos up.

Value wins. Also, I feel you moved away from creating videos JUST to make affiliate sales toward making videos to help, to serve and to provide valuable insights.

Here's a quick tip for videos

    Frame them around questions

Get questions from reddit or quora

Get popular questions in your niche

Get a voiceover and a slideshow going and you're in business

I get videos done for less than $35 each and they pull traffic

Technical points: Only HD or Full HD quality. MP4 format. Compressed if possible, but without losing quality. Use WAV audio if you can rather than MP3.
SEO points: Medium to long keyword, around 5-10 tags (less if possible), short description or list of video content.
Content points: Story, explanation, tutorial style, longer format about the product or service you want to sell. And of course... originality.
    Etc...

I'll tell you what works for me.

Not only give them value, but give them so much of it that they are amazed that you would do such a thing.

If you're leading them to a free eBook as an example, give them one of the major points in the book.

You might think you should save it for the book. But, they will actually love you for it.

Let's get the elephant in the room out of the way first. Everyone worries about budget. Dollars are tight. Every organization is trying to do more with less.

However, you don't have to spend millions to outfit your own studio and hire a dedicated video team.

Ideally, you'll produce enough content for different stages of the customer journey and release a new video every couple of weeks. That may sound excessive, but you can dedicate the right resources without breaking the bank.

If you can only invest in one dedicated hire, a videographer is a good place to start. A strong videographer can shoot and edit all of your footage and produce at least one short video per week for about $1,000.

And you don't need a formal studio and top-of-the-line equipment. Quality is important, but so is authenticity. Shoot in the office instead of a studio, and you can get a great HD-quality camera for a few hundred bucks.

Your viewers will be more impressed by your smart, funny and helpful videos than whether the lighting is just right.

Then take any other marketing channel and format, and substitute for "YouTube" and "video".

    The post is still true.

This is also a fantastic method for creating lead magnets in other formats (PDFs, slide shows, infographics, etc.)

Quality always pays out well over quantity.
If you can ... try to have your videos for atleast 10mins longer. Based on what heard ... this could allow Youtbe to run ads & could rank our videos little over than others.

I completely agree, you have to first focus on providing value otherwise there is no point in people consuming your content. Good luck!

Yes true, I agree with you. Because people are more addicted to YouTube than other social sites. Do not add lengthy videos but video with interesting content and information is all wanted by YouTube users.

Well said. People tend to think that making videos short and only for clickbait and don't have any nice content or values is more watchable. Still making videos with sense wins.

      Follow these parameters for YouTube:
      (a) HD i.e. 1920x1080
      (b) mp4 format is better
      (c) FPS should be 60
      (d) bitrate should be 12000K
      (e) use stock photos and videos from 123rf or similar sites
      (f) use non-liner editor such as Avisynth for more control over quality and animation

P.S. I do use Avisynth for only 10% of my animation and slideshow effects, mainly use scientific data visualisation libraries in python such as Vispy, PyPlot and Grumpy, and I can do what existing GUI video editors such as adobe after effects can't, giving me a pretty big advantage.

My best traffic YT videos are same niche tutorials.

They all have lots of positive comments and average well over 100K views.

I agree give traffic something useful, that's pretty much the only reason anyone visits a webpage so get it right from the start.

@yukon, I mean these short 2-3 minutes animoto slideshow videos, I not be on the video with my face and spoke on that.

I see short slideshare videos (more like promo videos) from famous movie actors, the short movie is more a slideshow, (but get hundred thousands of views..........

The priority is to provide value to the viewer, otherwise, it will be just another video. I found out that short but helpful videos work the best, at least for me.

      Maybe.

The days of "build it and they will come" are long gone.

Nowadays, it's more like rolling a snowball down a hill - it gathers mass and momentum as it rolls, but you have to push it first. You also have to make the snowball in such a way that it sticks to the snow on the hill rather than simply rolling over it. And you have to pick the right hill.

If anyone promises you that doing such-and-such guarantees that it will "go viral", take it with a huge handful of salt.
