have a real-world niche example?

I'm still struggling to find a niche. Does anyone have a real-world example of a good niche, that they don't mind sharing? I would assume it would be one you were not going to pursue for your own reasons, but was otherwise a good example.

I'm basically looking at Amazon merchandise sub-categories, and trying to run them through MarketSamurai. The stuff with really thin compteition usually has a vendor name as one of the keywords, and everything else seems to have really stiff competition.

I've seen people post ideas, only to see why their idea was not so great, but I've never seen somebody post an idea that most people agreed was probably a good one. I realize asking IM people to sacrifice a good niche is like asking them to donate money to their competitors, that's why I ask for example that they aren't planning to pursue anyway (for whatever reason).

Thanks, Jay. So it sounds like you are targeting "processes" rather than "merchandise", are these ideas more for adsense than affiliate marketing?

Or would you describe the process that solves the readers problem, and then have affiliate links to the products that helped in the solution? For example, a potty training page might have a link to Pampers being sold on Amazon.
