All these ideas and yet soo little time!

Hey warriors,

Kinda a small post today about something that just came to mind as i was re-writing (for the 7th time now) a product of mine and browsing the forum at the same time probably hoping that my product would finish itself lol.

Anyhow i was doing some more 'thinking outside of the box' which i do quite alot and just thought of another idea for another short wso which will work perfectly to give away free to build up a list of potential clients for another wso that i had an idea for about 2 months back.

I keep getting thing's like this and already employ two people full time to manage my affiliate marketing and yet still i find myself even more busy than before i hired them, however yes i am making more money as a result of that!

So my question is how do you guys and girls cope? and what do you do so you don't forget all these ideas and also put some sort of order on them all!

Im really tempted to write this quick short mini-ebook now and then come back to my big product... but know i really shouldn't, especially when the upsell if you like isn't done either!

Thanks

Tom Brite

get a couple of big dry erase boards - one for ideas to consider - one for projects in the works

just move the best ideas over to projects in the works as you have time

prioritize the projects in the works by "finish first"

    that's what I do

I also keep a little mp3 recorder with me all the time and anytime something hits me, i just record it and then later transfer to my ideas board

Do you mean white-boards? think its a change in the lingo between UK and USA!

Ive wanted a few of those for the past 3 months but never been able to find them... think i might have to take a look online and just cover the cost of shipping!

I have a few corkboards in my office. The one gets plastered with bits of paper with ideas on them. When I have some spare time I tackle some of them, and wen I start a new project I see which could be incorporated.

yeah - white boards or dry erase boards - mine are like 6 feet across and 4 feet high :-)

plenty of room for all my ridiculous ideas and then plenty of room for ongoing projects and their details or "to do's"

They help keep you focused on what should be done NOW, IMO

      Wow that is big!

You can buy that chalk board type paint, i wonder if there is the same paint but in white to paint your own whiteboards!

Now that would be really cool having a whole room done in this white board paint.

      Time to get researching!!!!

I have a white board. It certainly helps when you have the idea written down in front of you. I find that it helps to get rid of some of the noise in your head.

I also keep folders on my desktop with ideas.

Actually that might be better! Although less environmentally friendly.... but if i went for a post-it type setup and just chose a wall and then stuck post-it notes on it with tasks and ideas in sections that could work well!

I would enjoy screwing them up and making my wall less messy too as i complete each thing!

Perfect! or so it sounds.... do post-it notes mark the wall?

      Arrggghh!! folders!

Folders remind me of college and homework/coursework... not good.

Am sure it could work well for some people though, the only organization i do is folders on my pc.

I would also recommend dry erase boards. I have a 6x4 which has tons of room for all of my ideas which I prioritize. Do you guys have Staples or Office Depot stores over there?

      Tom,

I'm an Excel guy. I have a to-do list, notated with priorities, time estimated to complete, estimate impact on my business/ROI, etc.

I find Excel spreadsheets take up no room in my office, are environmentally very friendly, much easier to prioritize, easier to add/change/delete, easier to jot notes, easy to document progress/status, and easier take with me when I travel, etc. Do that with a white board! lol

When I know I have a window of X minutes/hours to work on my to-do list, it tells me what the most important thing to do next is.

Staples in the UK but not sure about France which is where i spend most of my time!

Will have to do some research into it all. Would love to see the postman bring me a massive white-board and try and post it through my letter box though!

        Meh!

I tried using excel a while ago but then without a second monitor it didn't really work that well as i was actually closing my current tasks to re-open new ones... plus felt like i was wasting more time by filling it in rather than working!

With a off-computer method i can use it when my laptop is loading up lol... can't really make that any quicker or stop that happening!

I use one note. I like it because I can clip data from anywhere (email, website, etc.) and save it to a master list. Later I can go back and sort it onto an appropriate page. When I worked in an office I had color-coded post-its all over my monitor but with a 10" laptop that's a bit of a challenge.

I am totally ADD when it comes to ideas. This is why I like the new micro niche thing I'm working on because it only takes an hour or two to set up a site so if I get a new idea I can work on it almost right away. I do better with this than long projects. Also, if I am working on a longer project and get an idea I give myself 10 minutes to stop work, just down as much about the idea into one note as I can and then it's back to work.
