1 Quality in Folks Who Make Boatloads of Money Online

I personally count one of the top bloggers on earth as a good friend.

He has made millions of dollars online. Heck; he started making money online in the freaking '90's.

He possesses 1 quality that I see in many folks who earn mega bucks online.

He is a servant. Meaning, he has a generous, serving heart. Meaning, even though he had made millions online he responds to emails in minutes, sometimes, and he responds to newbie bloggers, unknown bloggers and pro bloggers alike. He is like a giving machine. Which is why he is an earning machine.

He definitely *gets* a lot in terms of money, email subscribers, fame, but he devotes most of his energy to *giving*, serving, helping and offering bloggers a platform through which to succeed.

I've had nice little chats with some super duper influential folks online and this common thread runs through the whole crew; they are servants. They ask how they can help. Then, they help for free, and for pay, and happy hustle their way to a fortune. But the fortune is just a by-product of what they love doing most; serving, solving a specific problem and passionately learning their niche.

I have modeled much of what I do online on these titans. It seemed like the more fun way to go, and it has been.

Your Homework

Before you focus most of your attention and energy on what affiliate product you're gonna promote, or how you're gonna monetize your blog, or how you're gonna get, get, get....take a deep breath and understand that until you become a master giver, or a master servant, or hyper generous, you will pale in comparison, earnings and scale to what these big dawgs are doing.

Give like mad. Help folks out. Stay up until freaking midnight answering questions on Warrior and Quora (just reached 100,000 views on my answers today over there woohoo!), and if you're new to marketing, stay up to midnight learning, studying and applying.

Focus most of your energies on being a servant then casually begin picking products or services....but most of what you do online should be about giving if you want to earn a steady income, or if you want to scale the *getting* into a fortune.

What about you? Have you noted this quality in happy, fun-loving, top-earning online entrepreneurs? How are you giving generously of your time and talents?

    Yes all true.

I know a blogger personally who is making a lot of money.

He has crossed over the $3M mark since 2013.

When you help others to succeed online, you simultaneously help your self.

But you have to do it from your heart not just to get.

    He is always giving.

That's it Rory; when we help others we really do help ourselves since we are all connected.

    Very true, in my experience.

Many years ago I wrote an email to a bunch of "gurus". Some have moved on but some are still in the game. My email proposed something that was only slightly beneficial to them but potentially very beneficial to me.

Within minutes, I received emails from most of them. All that answered were pleasant, gave me what I asked for, and treated me - a stranger - in a way that when it came time for the next big launch I had less of a problem buying their stuff just because they seemed to be decent people.

Compare that to the customer service attitude of some around here who won't answer emails from prospects or even customers. The WSO section is full of this type of behavior. And, there have been a number of threads over the years saying you don't have time to answer all those emails because you need to be sending emails and building your business instead of wasting your time answering them.

Yep Mark; when I release new eBooks my readers gobble them up. I helped a person I just met today thru email and they bought 2 of my eBooks on my recommendation. Being nice and helping folks opens doors easily. Really easily.

    Completely agree.

The same pattern runs through the most successful people in pretty much every niche; serve the needs of your market first.

Exactly Mark - and how many WSO sellers stick around? And with the ones who can stand the heat, when the feedback gets too negative they just drop the thread and start a new one.

This is it Michael; the folks who are heart-centered want to help and serve, and folks doing things more from a place of fear disappear.

Totally agree with you guys (Oh by the way, love your blog Michael).

I guess you sometimes forget to give in a world where everyone just want the "get" part...

But, yes, thank for your post Bryan, refreshing indeed

Boy do a LOT of internet marketers miss this point. They're so focused on how to make money, they forget that money has to come from people who are willing to pay it to them. If you don't do anything for people, you'll have a hell of a time getting their money.

Excellent post Ryan - I couldn't agree more.

Many marketers will remember Robert Cialdini's remarkable little marketing book called Influence - The Psychology of Persuasion. One of his "weapons of persuasion" was what he called the Rule of Reciprocation, i.e. that humans try to repay what has been given to them. As evidence he described the experiment of a college professor.

The professor sent out early Christmas cards to a large sample of total strangers. He expected some reaction, but the response he received was overwhelming. Holiday greetings addressed to him poured back in from these strangers whom he'd never met.

The power of giving something of value to another person, even if they are not expecting it, or don't ask for it, is almost magical. It sends the message that you care about them (me as an individual) and that you are willing to help them. Most people respond very favorably when they know that you are extending your hand to them.

Kindness and helpfulness are not typical character traits these days in many marketers . . . but as you stated Ryan . . . they can be very endearing and profitable traits to develop for anyone!

Its mindset...build customers don't get orders...

Think about that...big difference. Good blogs have people some back over and over.

This Zig Ziglar quote has been repeated so many times people have stopped hearing it, but it's absolutely true...
You can get anything you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want in life.

Take it one step further, Mark.

I haven't seen one for awhile, but there were even threads asking for tricky ways to avoid or deny refunds, as if any person who asked for one was trying to steal the vendor's product. Yes, there are cheats who buy and then refund the moment the download is complete, but I believe that's a fairly small percentage. And, like shoplifters in a retail store, it's a cost of doing business.

      Great point John.

I intend to act as abundantly as possible when folks are using my content under their name, or getting my eBooks for free and re-selling. Just gotta chalk it up to doing business and understand that it will happen as your presence expands.

Good advice. Many people simply do marketing to make money. Of course there is nothing wrong with that since we are all trying so succeed.

But the ones who truly give back and make the world a better place are the real winners. All over my facebook news feed I see scammy ads from people pretending to make alot of money, to get you to sign up for an MLM or internet marketing course, which ends up having no value.

Thanks Ryan for this inspiring post!

I have to say that I'm new to the online marketing world but have been fortunate enough to have been introduced to it by successful intraprenuers who have the exact same selfless and giving mindset as you and your friend.

I'm trying to gain as much insight as I can from the masters in the online business world and they all have the same philosophy - give in order to receive. But don't just give, be genuine and do it with meaning, people can tell if your insincere.

Without wanting to sound too cliché 'share the love' and you will receive it back twofold!

    Great Post!

I've found that a few times a month, people will email me to ask if I have an affiliate link for a certain product, so they can buy via my link!

I'm used to it now, but still very flattering that happens
