If you have no capital, you can start with free hosting and a free autobresponder. Post non spammy links to question and answer sites, and sell affiliate products to list sign ups. You can use plr for giveaways products and fiverr sells cheap squeeze pages. Obviously it's not the best method, but it's mostly free.

Sorry to hear about your wife. Hope she gets to come home soon ( and get well).

If you are a beginner, it could take you up to one full year just to start making an income.

But I don't know you personally and don't know what you are capable of.

There is money to be made for sure online but there is a process and a learning curve.

Alright. Can you start working on creating videos for YouTube? Movie Maker can be a good starting point. You don't need super-quality video now. What you need text from articles and images from Pixabay.com.

Once your channel gets some traffic attach a simple WordPress blog. For the time being, learn how to make simple videos by following tutorials that come first in Google search results.

Forget about list-building now. Interacting with users via email campaign, getting subscribers are for those who offer a very quality blog/website, which you can't do right away.

Leverage the power of YouTube; it helps you interact with your subscribers via content recommendation and others--a multi-billion dollar technology, which could be more efficient than most of your email campaigns. In addition, you got YouTube ads, a link to your blog in the description and card at the end of the video. Its a win-win situation.

Videos are animate objects--which bring more sales. If you want success online, video marketing should be the first in your list.

Gary - I looked back and you've asked for help and had some problems for a while. Not unusual but it's frustrating when you can't seem to find traction.

If all you need is $300 (it's a lot when you need it - but not a huge amount in the big scheme of things)...why not offer writing services on freelance sites or on sites that pay for unique written copy?

There are many such sites - and, no, you do not have to compete with cheap writers. You have the language skills and it's not difficult to earn $300 on freelance projects.

Note: I am NOT suggesting "Fiverr" - though I'm sure someone will. Best bet in your case is to look for those sites that recruits writers to submit articles to them. Sometimes you have to prove yourself a bit for the higher payments but you could do that.

I almost hesitate to suggest this as in the past your response to questions or suggestions you didn't like has been dismissive and at times angry.

Providing services is the most basic method you can use with relatively fast results. Because you need a modest amount per month - it wouldn't take that much work and you could write at prices people are comfortable paying.

I'm very sorry to hear about your wife, I hope that she gets better. The challenge here is that it is very difficult to make $300 as a beginner in IM. It took me almost a year to start making something close to that. But don't be discouraged, it all depends on how much work your willing to put in.

You should consider freelancing (using whatever skillset you have). The advantage is that you would avoid having to learn new skills, as you would be leveraging on the things which you already know. I used to make around $20 a day as a freelance writer on Upwork.

Gary I am sorry to hear this. My prayers are with you. Please get a job. Do not, I stress, do not, believe that making money online will provide you dependable income. It never never ever works like that. Ever. It is not a salary, the internet will never cover your bills.

Please, get offline, get a job, earn hundreds or thousands a month and pay those bills buddy.

I have compassion for you. My mom is at the end of a long term illness in hospice. These situations can feel overwhelming, but bringing that desperate energy to your online gig leads to failure, struggles and nightmares 100% of the time.

Once you get paid from your job, then you can cover bills. Then, and only then, should you consider beginning an online business.

This is the only piece of advise, I believe, you should follow. You can't make a dime online unless you help, solve other people's problems be it marketing or simple gigs. Its a lot of asking considering your current situation. Its not only difficult but quite impossible when you got little to no skills, but try to make money online. You must be under the impression that people earn quite a lot from the Internet, but you, as a beginner, are positioned in the middle of a big f****** dessert. Its grind. Better find a job offline and pay your bills, there is no other ways around as far as I know.

If I'm understanding you correctly -- you already have a job you're just not making enough money and need another $300 per month.

If so, then what Kay suggested is a good idea. Making an extra $300 by offering writing services is not hard. You can ask for a 50% deposit and final payment on delivery. Freelancing is one of the quickest ways to make money but you are trading hours for work. There is no passive income.

If you don't have a job, then follow Ryan's suggestion and find one. It will provide the stability you need right now.

    Prayers for your wife.

Going with the video idea, you can sell videos you make to showcase florists and bakers and such... Animoto (or moviemaker that comes with computers) can create videos that can look quite pleasing...

You'd need to convince the florist it's worth their while to pay you... But, since you will not charge a lot... (compared to big companies), you could make it. Especially if you offer to put them up on youtube for them with keywords in the right places so they get seen by a few more people than they would if the client put them up...

The trick with this, as well as with freelancing as a writer, is to have a couple of samples and the guts to ask for jobs and the payment.

I am so sorry to hear that.

    Hi, Gary.
It is not hard to make 300$ through internet.
The most effective way to make money online today would be promoting other people products or services, which is called as affiliate marketing. To start this, I would highly suggest you to build your own a website and you can promote whatever products/service you want based on your website's niche. You can sign up with amazon, Clickbank, or Ebay's affiliate program. (would suggest Clickbank, you can earn higher commission there)

Hope it helps, please feel free to ask me if you have any further questions I can help you

For the right kind of writing services, $300/month could come from 1-2 gigs (gigs, generic, not "Gigs", Fiverr).

Check out AWAI's site, Lots of free resources.

Also www.problogger.com has a job board, along with a bunch of free information.

It might take you a little time to get some traction, but it's doable.

    One piece of personal advice...

If you don't have someone outside your situation to talk to, find someone. Might be a pastor, counselor, therapist, someone you can talk to and can offer both a willing ear and some perspective. I wish someone had given me this advice when my late mother-in-law was going through the late stages of Parkinson's and needed round the clock care.

Did I say anything that implied limiting oneself to articles?

There are lots of writing jobs that pay fairly well that don't involve articles.

As for the folks that seem to always recommend the content mills for pennies, it's likely all they know (or have read about). Like my grandfather used to say, give a kid a hammer and everything looks like a nail.

Some suggest it because they don't know anything else to suggest - and the only thing they know online is "Fiverr"...

I suggest it when I see someone who has decent command of English - especially those not looking to get rich next week. Writing is easy to start - quick to produce income and doesn't take lot of time/money/knowledge/tools to get started.

When I first started out, I went to Craigslist and found a writing job for a law firm. I wrote 2 articles per day for their blog and it earned me $500 per month. To find content for articles is not difficult. You can look at other blogs or research on Google.
