How to increase customer base to English speaking countries?

by wadboram 18 replies
I'm an online personal trainer (health & fitness niche) and I have good fan base from Arabic countries with more than 120K Facebook fans and more than 26K Youtube subscribers.

My question, how can I attract English speaking customers?
I thought of these ideas:
1. Building a new Facebook fan page (with my brand)
2. Adding (English closed captions) to most viewed videos on my YT channel.
3. Already have created a professional website.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi! You can hire a virtual assistant from a country that speaks English well. Not necessarily from an English speaking country because labor costs are high but from a country like the Philippines where wages are lower. The skills of these workers are also vast and they can multitask well.

You can hire a virtual assistant
...and in another thread you suggested:

You should definitely hire a virtual assistant. Hiring a VA will take some of your work load considerably and the great thing about it is that it is absolutely friendly on your budget. You can outsource to the Philippines for workers who have the skill set that you need.
Just a wild guess - would you happen to be a 'virtual asst' in the Philippines?

    wadborum:

You have a 1,2,3 plan - but I don't think #2 will work. You have stiff competition in that niche in English speaking countries. Offering subtitles on videos may not be enough. Why not redo your best videos using English 'actors'/English voiceover, etc.

In my opinion, you will need to re-create your 'brand'...in English. Will the brand name transfer well to English?

Translating is the way to go. Also, befriending online personal trainers via YouTube, Facebook, etc, by commenting on their posts. Make buddies with these guys and gals and they will promote you, helping you make inroads in English-speaking markets.

2 won't work well imo. You should recreate these in English if you want to get views (imo)

Maybe England will, but Americans absolutely will not read subtitles. If people actually wanted to read (few seem to these days), they wouldn't be watching a video. They have to be in English and ideally, the person speaking should not have a foreign accent (with the exceptions to this being England or Australian accents). It may not be politically correct to point these things out, but America is, what America is.

Actually there a lot of successful online personal trainers on YouTube who are not native speakers and have a strong accent. In my opinion, the knowledge, personal selling and the core competences are what will matter.
N.B. I also know many successful internet marketers who are having accent too.

Different opt in page, different fan page, different youtube page.

These group of people are susbtantially different so you have to build all new from scratch.

My question is: why dont u go deep in monetizing the audience you already have?

If you post the same suggestion in multiple threads - it will be labeled 'promotional'. If I noticed - others will, too.

Yes I would have to agree that translating the site in English is the way to go. You may also create new social media pages in English to attract English-speaking customers. You may use the fan base in these social media sites to direct traffic to your English website.

Hi you can write blog posts in your website stating that " we are now exclusively available for countries which speaks English" and you can share this with your social audience and ask them to share with their colleagues and friends who are available in english speaking countries.
