Article Submission - Question

Fellow warriors,

A quick question I hope and one I must ask to clarify in my mind.

I understand that writing articles that are unique and 400+ words is a very important way of getting traffic to a website from the search engines.

The question is simply that if I have a website on 'widgets' does it mean that all my articles must be written about the said 'widgets' ?

or

Is it only important to write a unique and quality article with the resource box linking to my site with 'widgets' as a hyperlinked keyword?

Best wishes

Pete

"widgets" should not be your only keyword. Write about other people who use widgets and discuss other issues that widgets border on.

For example, if widgets is weight loss, you can discuss pills, natural weight loss, or here is something way off the side as an example - epsom salt. Epsom salt is not just for soaking but is also used as something to flush out your system. So you could write an article all about the uses of epsom salt, but your resource box would point to your weight loss site.

When you hyperlink epsom salt, you have now added it as an anchor text and keyword associated with your site.

(waiting to see a flood of articles about epsom salt now. LOL)

Thanks to you both for giving the answers and both have cleared it up in my mind.

Yes that was a curve ball about epsom salts my research is weak at the moment without throwing a curve at me...

    Thanks again.

It is a question of congruence. If someone is looking for information on woozles, then you present a link to more information on widgets, then they are not going to click.

That said however, it is still possible to vary your articles significantly.

    The benefits of widgets,
    most asked questions about widgets,
    best kind of widgets,
widgets verses woozles, what is the best way to go?
    pros and cons of widgets,

    the list goes on...

What a wonderful word - woozles!

I'm just guessing here, but a woozle is a female widget - right?

They must be from Dr. Suess, my kids are 6 and 8, I'm still reading Dr. Seuss in my sleep.

            My youngest kid is 25.

So, if a woozle had been from Thomas the Tank Engine I would have been up to speed.

But I still think it sounds like the feminine version of widget.

              Karen,

I think woozles are from winnie the pooh, heffalumps and woozles the things he was most scared of (from elephants and weasels).

Keyword targeting is very important in your article writing. Take your widgets example.

Widgets will be a very popular and tough keyword to crack because there will be a lot of competition for it. Instead look for widget related keywords that aren't as popular but can still send you good traffic and target those.

Low hanging fruit people. It all adds up and is easier to go after and get top results.

You do not need articles with 400+ words for SEO purposes. Some of my most viewed articles are only 250 words

there are two types of links, links for PR and Links for Traffic. The articles written for PR can be about related 'wigets' and articles written for traffic can be just about 'wigets'

Its all about relevancy, the more relevant your article is the more easy they will click.

Here are some tips to take note of in Article Marketing:

      1) Know your outcome, is it to bring them to your web page or to increase your page rank?

      2) Write content that is related or a follow up of what you want to share, this way it will increase click through and get to your outcome.

      3) The title and the anchor text must be related to what your outcome is. The keywords must appear in the title, the anchor text and the landing page you are bring them.

    Hi,

How I work it is I use all 3 of my Resource boxes. I then write articles that go to three different pages on my blog. The idea is they read an article on xyx, like it they then go to my blog to a page that is selling an item that will help them with the widget problem. Of course the hope is while there, they will look at other pages etc.

Also I have a general resource box which just sends people to the home page.

    Hope this helps
