Hi everyone....
I just launched my online business but I am having serious issues with getting free traffic. Based on my budget, free traffic is what I can afford for now. What can I do? I will really appreciate your advice. Thanks.

    Youtube is a very good source of traffic. You can also use Twitter, Facebook, and so on. Answering questions on Quora.com can also be good too.

    Though there are many staunch critics of this method, you might want to give some of the traffic exchanges a try. I wouldn't devote my a great deal of energy to the endeavor, but I think it's worth exploring particularly if you are new.

    The criticism is mostly based around phony hits and the fact that most of the surfers could care less about what others are promoting. Use a site like statcounter or bitly to gauge the accuracy of the reporting and, though there many participants have other things on their mind, your postings will not be neglected entirely if you have a good landing page.

    As you can see by the other posts, I'm mentioning the traffic exchange option as one of many. I wouldn't make a career of it, but, if nothing else, you'll get a look at what your competitors are serving up. See something that catches your eye? Consider incorporating the strategy into your own landing pages.

    As for choosing an exchange, trafficswarm and easyhits4u have fairly good reputations.

    Free traffic from where? I bet it is more like exchange traffic. If that's the case I suggest you look for something that is worth your time and effort because there is no such thing as free traffic, and exchange traffic are worthless. On the other hand why don't you do an analysis on your target audience instead so you'll not just get traffic but genuine traffic.

    When it comes to free traffic there are so many good options. Of course all the big ones mentioned many times here FB, Youtube, Forums, Twitter etc.

    What I found really hurt me when starting out was that I went in too many directions at once. For example I knew how powerful Youtube was but didn't have a clue about video marketing. Attacking that skill set first was not a wise move for me. It took a lot of time and I never got any traction(or sales) until I learned video marketing skills.

    If I had to do it over I would focus on the Free Methods that do not require months of learning before I could put them into practice.

    Even if you only make a couple good contacts each day at least you have something to build on.

    Lastly I found the fastest way around my lack of skill was to offer free gifts to make relationships. All top marketers do it so I focused on giving to turn me free marketing into a success.

      Yep; focus on a few prime sources, and I prefer to toss in a few secondary sources as well.

      Example; I spent hours today guest posting, commenting on blogs and promoting my latest post, then spend 10-15 minutes answering questions on Quora....another 15 here on Warrior....15 on Twitter, 15 on FB, 15 minutes doing Facebook Live Videos, Periscope Live videos and a YouTube live video as well. Focus on 1-2 mains, then complement with a handful of other free traffic sources.

    Social Media - Facebook and Pinterest in that order and then others such as Twitter, Instagram etc.

    Articles on Slideshare. Upload a pdf to the site with your article.

    Tumblr for blog postings.

    Optimize your site for the search engines and ensure that it loads quickly .

    Blog commenting in your niche. Look for the top blogs in Google and make helpful comments about the posts.

    Try to guest blog on blogs in your niche. Go to the highest traffic ones if possible. If this is difficult, then go for medium traffic ones. Just don't waste your time with low traffic blogs.

    Upload YouTube videos.

    Answer questions on Q&A sites such as Quora.

    To learn more about free traffic methods, read the blogs of top online marketers such as Neil Patel, Matthew Woodward, Pat Flynn etc.

    Look for the major traffic forums in your niche and join them to answer questions and be helpful. Don't spam them or you will get banned! If done properly, this will build credibility and drive traffic and sales.

    One of the best places for free traffic (IM niche / MMO niche) is forums. Forums tend to have passionate followers, and depending on the site, if you have alot of traffic, well other than the cost of joining, that would be free. Now if only you could find such a place where a million people a month come for assistance and tools to make money online; hmmm....

      Facebook is a very STUBBORN company. Its ONLY fb Who make money out of your user-generated content, not you. If they find you happen to make quite a bit of money out of your fan page and without any paid ads, they will just reduce your organic reach to 5% or less.

      Unlike Google, YouTube, or Pinterest, consider fb as a paid marketing platform. FB is popular among marketers because of their SHARE function. You content/message can troll over the Internet (viral content), but you need to eyeball your content with a targeted source of traffic (push traffic).

      What you do organic or paid its your choice, but always try to build an email list--the only form of traffic that you completely own.

      True true. I am a lounge lizard here, and also on Q and A sites like Quora. Fab traffic and business builders for me, and both are freebie sources too. As with all free sources, the time, energy and service you put in determines what you get out of the channels.

    I have built everything you see thru my blog, brand and online businesses by using free traffic sources.

    I:

    - comment effectively on top blogs in my niche; 2-3 paragraph comments, usually
    - guest post on top blogs in my niche
    - promote hundreds of *OTHER* bloggers monthly through Twitter, by featuring them on my blog and by featuring them through my guest posts
    - actively answer questions on Warrior
    - actively answer questions on Quora
    - comment on the blogs of my commentors; I have over 7000 comments on my blog....so that is a lotta comments
    - publish Facebook Live videos
    - publish Periscope videos
    - publish YouTube videos
    - publish podcasts on iTunes and SoundCloud

    These are some ideas. But the most important thing I do is to promote other bloggers.....because as 10, 50, 100 and 500 bloggers or more promote me - because I promoted then without asking or looking for anything in return - I get a boatload of traffic and comments, as well as increasing sales.

    They all work!

    But here's a newsflash...

    They won't work for everyone!!

    Find only one that you honestly feel is a match for you.

    A lot of folks are saying you tube.

    I love video, like being in the middle of things, in the spotlight etc.

    And if you do too, then maybe video marketing is the way too go.

    But if you don't, then maybe blogging (or some (1) other marketing thing will be better suited.

    Just don't make the no.1 new marketer mistake...trying this out and that out but no traction anywhere.

    See the great majority of threads and you will see this pattern.

    Spreading your focus thin gets almost zero results.

    I saw a quote the other day but can't remember who said it.

    Luckily, you have a few options. You can post on social media (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) You can also post your own videos on YouTube. Videos are one of the top ways to generate traffic these days.

    You can also create your own blog or add value/useful information to other blogs relevant to your niche (e.g. blog hopping or guest blogging).

    There are many ways to get the Free traffic if you know the technique. Such as you can do SEO by creating Back Link. Create many many Do-follow link than the No-Follow link. Forum posting, Relevant Blog commenting, Article Submission, Social Media site. Thanks for your advance.

    Don't get stuck by every comment. First of all, you should know who is your targeted traffic and where are the hanging around. It totally depends on your product. Though from every Social Site, you will get more or less targeted traffic. But be specific which platform is the best to get more conversion with less effort.

      i think this is a complete list of free traffic you can use, my suggestion is only focus on one or two sources, i like instagram and facebook, both can be automatically and have large engagement going on.

      all you need is just 2 hours everyday, which could easily managed outside your normal business hours.

      and classified ads is not a bad idea too, as these can be done as copy paste.

    Currently I using FB groups, Google+1 groups and Instagram for getting free traffic to my squeeze page. The trick i stick with is to be unique because there`s so much competitors on those places.

    I usually use canva.com to create high quality photos and images for my marketing campaigns.

    Since we're almost two weeks in, and the OP can't be bothered to come back, here's a tip for the rest of y'all...

    Before you go charging off to do YouTube videos or guest posts or blog comments or whatever, spend some time figuring out where your ideal prospects already hang out. The spend some skull sweat figuring out how to get their attention. Stipulating "free", as in no upfront cash outlay, just narrows the possibilities.

    Pretty much all of the methods mentioned CAN work, if you can attract the attention of the right people.

    Take forum posting, for example. If you run a quilting site, posting here on WF would likely be a waste of time. As would trying to promote your SEO course on a quilting site.

    Match your message to your market, and watch the magic start to happen. Get one or both wrong, and you end up with a top hat full of rabbit poop.

    There are a lot of free traffic sources out there, most of them take a lot of time to see immediate traffic spikes, but for me I believe SEO is by far the best free and reliable traffic source out there. It takes time, but it's worth it.

    I think that social media these days offer lots of opportunities. If you have no budget for advertising I would try Facebook group marketing. The strategy works if you can post in several hundreds of them. However, please remember that spamming Facebook groups will get you banned by Facebook.

    So always post in Facebook groups trying to provide value to the group e.g., write a nice and informative blog post.

    If you decide to use a software to automatically post in Facebook groups, please create a separate Facebook account to avoid getting your personal account blocked

    If you have to Increase traffic then you have two options:

    1. Organically
    2. Paid Traffic

    If you want to bring the traffic organically then you have to apply various kind of SEO techniques,
    Like - On-Page, Off Page, Directory Submission, Forum posting, Pdf Submission and much more. Let me remind you its completely free, but it takes a lot of time and efforts, also if you are doing in it proper way, it could backfire you.

    If you are planning to bring traffic to your website via paid sources, then you can buy it from independent sources, because if you choose to promote it on Google Adwords it will be very costly for you and Facebook marketing is the other option which you can choose, but if you didnt optimize it properly, it could not profitable for you.

    YouTube is a great source of free traffic as is guest blog posting. Also, optimize your website for Bing. The competition isn't as great as on Google and it's the power behind Cortana which comes bundled with Windows 10. There are free coupon codes for Google AdWords released from time to time, so it's worth watching for those, too.

        My number one source of free traffic is blogging! I not only get traffic from search engines, but when I post a new article it gets spreaded over to FB, Twitter and sometimes even further - automatically.

    You have started off on the right foot by engaging on this forum. Whilst I believe there is no "free traffic" Due to the fact that your time is an investment init'self however you can get traffic "organically" . I will give you 3 specific ways to attract traffic.
    .continue to engage in this forum and contribute meaningfully
    . Give value consistently which would help you build trust
    . use your face book timeline as a means to inspire,entertain ,educate and make sure that you address the pain-points of peoples problems (solve). These are indirect methods of getting leads (traffic)

Such as Youtube Video, Facebook Fan page, Facebook Group, Relevant Blog commenting, Forum posting, Article submission & so on. If you can do work in these sector, you are enough.     Ugh, this is going to be the root of your problem. There is no such thing as free, believe me. If you want to be successful and established, you need to have a rough start. Yes, rough start as in look for your market; do your assignment -- research and don't expect freebies. If you need to go back from the start get back to it and do things right. Come on guys it's 2017! No freebies for you!

    If you have plenty of time but not much spare money, try creating a free report in a PDF format with links to your website (or what you are promoting) to give away on any of the sites that people have mentioned.


    This could be one of the following:


    Find an answer to a problem that people have in a specific niche.


    A list of resources e.g. free diet plans, free woodworking plans etc.


    Then advertise the free report in your headline.


    You could also use this as an inducement to building a list as some people have suggested.


    Mailchimp have a list building service that is free for the first - I think it is 500 subscribers.

    1) Go find out popular forums related to your niche.
    2) Edit your profile signature to contain a link to your site.
    3) Contribute to the ongoing discussions.

    The only condition is to contribute VALUABLE input. Spamming is not an option.
