RPG-Strategy Game Marketing

Hello, warriors!
Wanted to make a discussion about game marketing.
I got an offer from my friend to begin marketing of his newly developed game vastwars.com and split the profit 50/50.

I'm quite new to this market but the offer is good and I believe we can achieve some good results with proper marketing strategy.
I am open for your pieces of advice and ideas on how and where to start promoting RPG-Strategy gangsters wars game.

The game works on desktop version and for now, we have only Android app ready, so maybe the best way
would be to start promoting on mobile traffic networks, in app advertisements, redirects etc.?
As I know android traffic is cheap. Maybe we would start with Android advertising by Inmobi.com, Phunware.com , Crowmobi.com , Zennaapps.com ad networks... Later with Desktop advertising like TrafficJunky and more.

In the mean time we gonna develop iOS app and much more, for example landing pages for split testing and optimisation, more payment options for e.g.: Bitcoins etc...

We also probably gonna make an affiliate platform for the game later.

We are open to your suggestions, advices and ideas.

    What game is that?

    Mobile Legends got popular through word of mouth...I didn't play it because I saw a youtube ad of it...I am already bombarded too much of YT ads, that Legacy of Discord is one of the biggest offenders, or PPC ads of Game of War, lol....

    What did Legacy of Discord and Game of War lacked? Because my friends aren't playing them...I played mobile legends because my friends are playing it...same with Clash of Clans...

    Pokemon Go is an interesting case as it tapped into the market of old Pokemon players which then those pokemon player invited their friends

    Word of mouth and power of friendship is a good weapon on android and ios games imo...

    I did not gave you insights from the perspective of a marketer but from a person who actually play games casually
