Importing existing emails into autoresponder

Client runs website (she is radio host and counselor) and have 5k legitimate emailing list (in some sort of text file).
She wants to import emails into decent commercial autoresponder to elevate her marketing efforts.

She wants to:
- Have 100% of emails imported. Forced double-re-optin is highly undesirable.
- Have a decent quality fully featured autoresponder.

Does Aweber offer no-hassle importing of existing list?
Any other good quality autoresponder offers no-hassle importing ability?

I tried to persuade AWeber to allow me to import my small list (3,700+), but they wouldn't hear of it. I wrote to everyone first and warned them to expect opt-in confirmations but less than 29% confirmed. Yet every single one of them had been gathered ethically using a double opt in with another company.

Well, that's not encouraging :-( but somewhat to be expected.

Mailchimp allows a list to be imported and doesn't send a confirmation. However, they won't work with a number of markets so that may or may not work for your client. You might also talk to Richelo Killian about Imnica Mail.
