warning: Article Marketing STINKS! Don't Do It, It's A Total Scam! I Will Tell You Why!

**If YOU are NEW to article marketing, have not had successful turnaround times, have not produced the results you want to see... or are simply just interested in article marketing, then read these tips!!***

**P.S** more critical information has been added, and more questions answered in posts following this one, so please also read posts below with RED titles, as I have thoroughly answered many questions not addressed in this original post***

So someone today was asking me about article marketing- and they asked me what kinds of CTR I had, so I log into Ezine Articles, to find some articles and see what the statistics are for them.

This person has never article marketed before, and I was just sharing some of my experience with him/her, as they were asking me questions- but of course it's different for everyone, depending on what you do. But keep in mind that I DO NOT backlink at all as of now.

Because I was explaining to this person that for me, the rates depend on a few things:

1. Competition can push articles down each hour very quickly, which leaves some articles with very low views- I have articles with only 9 views...lol, because the competition in my niches each hour is very high.

I put out many articles to try and combat this, however most people just put out a couple, and then complain when they get pushed down. In hot niches, you SHOULD expect that there will be COMPETITION, unless you find out otherwise, and YOU SHOULD also NOT give up and you should persist to continue putting out articles.

Because, the minute you give up, and get mad because your articles are always being pushed down- you INSTANTLY create more space for your competition- and if you don't get the sales, someone else will... and if that someone else doesn't get the sales- then someone else will!

So if you weren't there, and even if the strong competition wasn't - there are always still people in there getting the sales... so why aren't YOU!?

2. Testing- Not every article I put out is going to be liked by the public, or will appeal to people. Since I write my own articles, sometimes I get a little TOO creative with the content, and there are times where the content is just a little too rude with the marketing... so for me it's also a testing process to look back and find out why things aren't working.

Another thing I noticed, was that some of my titles weren't quite cutting it- yes they had strong call to action in them (as almost all of my titles do), but sometimes that was over the top as well, and even there were times that EZA didn't accept some of my titles...lol.

3. Simply the ability to smoothly roll the article into the author box. Which means that when they are reading the article, they don't just click away after, but are drawn in smoothly to the author box- which means the transition fits well.

As of now, I actually have a few different author boxes, because I noticed the same author box (in the same niche) does not always do well with ALL topics in that niche.

4. The author box itself- (for more information about blending the author box, what kind of author box to have, and other critical information not listed in this original post, please read the post below titled: How to Write An Article So That Readers Can Easily Read It and BUY IT- Tips About Getting Conversions)

Well I am pretty sure we all know that the author box needs really do alot here. That requires testing etc... and since my other articles scream in people's faces, my author box kindof matches- so I think it works well thus far.

But as mentioned, I noticed I get more people clicking my link- when my author box smoothly flows in with my article- but here is an example of an author box which DOES NOT smoothly flow in:

Alot of people put their damn author BIO as their author box.

A good example goes something like this:

James Kornbottom Is an expert in relationships, and has written over 5 books on ____subject. He is happily married and lives in ____place, and offers full time support and relationship advice on divorce. You can check out his website at..... www.the person really doesn't to click this link anymore...com

(yes lame example, but people sure do this!)

PEOPLE DON't CARE who you are- they care HOW YOU CAN HELP THEM!... that was why they were reading your article to begin with. So I have noticed alot of people sitting there telling about themselves and trying to say how much experience they have bla bla bla... in their author box, and then saying "such and such has a website you can check out"...

I honestly can say this kind of author box is SERIOUSLY detrimental to making people want click onto your website... don't be afraid to jazz up your author box's and make them pop, with things that the people are really looking for and are really interested in.

Your webpage is for building that trust and building that whole "who am I bla bla bla"... but your author box is that tiny little space you have to really scream at someone why they should go onto your website- and if all you have to say is personal information about yourself- it just doesn't cut it.

Remember that they have a problem- and you have the solution, so show them that you can solve it by telling them what they are about to get/or miss out on if they don't click your link.

Your author box LINK
But of course, there are people whose author box is bad- and even someone recently suggested to me that I remove the "click here" from my author box, and replace the link with a keyword like "get my ex back".

I have yet to try this trick, but this person also pointed out that if you were to find any TOP articles in the relationships niche for "get your ex back", you will find that alot of those articles DO in fact include the keyword in the link to their landing page/website.

So that is something else to take on board.

5. The call to action- Your author box AND TITLE ARE your little space to really pop and create a huge call to action- now some people can sell easily without all that hype, because of the TYPE of product they have- but when it comes to solving people's personal issues, such as in relationships, weight loss... and anything that is extremely personal (and possibly embarrassing)...

Remember that the reason most of these people are looking for advice and information online for this thing, is because they are too embarrassed to really ask someone in real life.

Just check out yahoo answers sometime, if you really don't believe me.

So what I have found successful, is to NOT be afraid to really use some strong calls to action with author boxes and titles. You have to convince that person that their problem really is bad, but that you can solve it- pronto.

A boring title, which really lacks personality isn't going to make them want to be seriously interested in reading what you have to say, and it also wont make them seriously interested in believing that you really can help them either.

It's like going to a psychologist and having them fall asleep on you, as you are telling them about your problems... would you really feel like they cared, or wanted to really help you then?

So don't fall asleep on your titles and author boxes! Keep them alive- show the person really that you have the solution! If you have a hard time doing this, then search online for "call to action words" or strong call to action words etc... and even just descriptive words-

If It Doesn't Seem Ragingly Explosive and Powerfully Effective, then as mentioned, you probably wont see the kinds of results you were hoping for.

6. Re-hashed content- Some of your readers want to make an informed decision- and they have been searching around all over the place for information on things. But if they find the same thing over and over, and your article(s) just so happen to fall into that category- kiss that person goodbye.

Well, some people find it hard to create content- but honestly... once you read about something for a very long time- I do not see how you cannot eventually just know that thing enough by heart, and in the mind that you can't just get a bit creative with it.

Original content is loved by google these days as well, so keep in mind that if you want your articles to also be loved by the search engines- you need to harness your creative side and begin attempting to create something different and unique.

I am not perfect either, and when I first started out, I did often mimic other (successful) people's articles- because at first I didn't know much about these things. But I found out that I actually do know about these things- especially things like relationships- because everyday we are ALL constantly engaging in relationships with people- but we just never really take the time to sit down and examine how and why they work- but I started to do that.

So if you are having issues as well, with many things, you can actually just look around in your life and draw from that- and you will find that you can get some original content then, just from your own back yard.

7. keywords- I haven't really been hitting the serps like crazy, because I honestly have done ZERO backlinking- however I do in fact put about a 3% keyword density in each of my articles.

I also take EXTREME CAUTION to strategically place those keywords so that my articles do not sound spammy, choppy, dumb, or appear to have bad grammar.

It's a pet peeve of mine to read an article like this:

"If you want to get ex back, you have to do things to win ex back"...

and I am just screaming in my head, about how the word "AN" should be present before "ex"... I don't know about you- but whenever I read articles like this, i really just get turned off, because It seems the person cared more about their SEO, search engines etc... than they did about actually helping someone or solving their problem.

So just something I would consider is to remember that your keywords should flow smoothly, and should actually MAKE SENSE in the articles. Just because your keywords make sense to GOOGLE, that does not mean they make sense in an actual article, to an actual reader.

(for more information on keyword density, read my reply posted below titled: Information On The 3% Keyword Density in CORRELATION WITH THE Ezine Articles Policy )

8. Keywords In The Titles, and Title Composition: Easily Identifiable Keywords IN THE TITLE really do help people to easily find what they are looking for- and to also find your article. Having keywords in your titles does ensure that the person can easily identify that your article does have some keys, tips, answers etc... to their problem- BUT
You must identify within the first 4-6 words exactly what it is you are solving/going to answer.

Such as in the article of mine which got over 10,000 views...without back linking- The first words in the article were:

How To Get an Ex Back.

I have tested and found that it is way better to have the keyword actually in the beginning of your title- as keywords are what people use to search and find your article- you also want that to be the FIRST THING they see.

I have also tested in using the keywords in the last half of the title as well- and found that this will only work, if you have an extremely strong and effective call to action in the beginning of the article.

It may also work, if you have a question- and then the keyword following- however, as mentioned, you want the first thing they see, to be the term they were originally looking for anyways: the keyword.

As for the title composition as well- there are certain "catch phrases" which do well in attracting attention to your article in the first place- whether on an article directory, or a search engine directory, and they go something like this:

"how to"
or simply put, just answering a question that is what I will call the 6 Q's: "who, what, where, when, why, how", followed by your keyword(s). Then your call to action, which should tell them what they are going to get there. Here are some examples of the 6Q''s in use. as:

So those are just some on the spot examples, but of course they can change depending on exactly what it is you are trying to sell/answer in the first place. But the point here, is that you must be able to grab the reader's emotions JUST BY YOUR TITLE ALONE! And by asking questions- such as the 6W's, you can instantly create emotion, especially if you follow up with a strong call to action, as used in the examples above.

This works especially well, if you know the topic you are writing about, is something people are desperate to know... such as "stopping a breakup", "attracting women", "losing weight"- you can easily emotionally draw the reader in, when you work on their crisis and ask a question to which they can instantly relate-followed by the idea that you have the answer solution to it, by saying things like:

Discover the....
Read on to find out...
3 tips/techniques on...
2 things that you absolutely must know in order to...
etc..

So as you can see you can create a psychological standpoint from which you can leverage your reader in as they feel like they absolutely NEED to know something, or that they absolutely have an issue which you can solve etc..

I am not sure if I did an effective way of describing this, but hopefully you can get the jist of what I am trying to talk about here.

As well, the article title length- Make it long- don't keep it too short- as that can really take away from your call to action... unless of course you are master marketer, and work with something like google adwords... But that is not the case here- these are articles- and I have actually tested this, and found that articles with longer titles- like the ones I created above- (that have keywords in them, as well as strong call to action- alongside answering a question etc...) You will instantly see a rise in views and people interested- because it's something different and it's something that draws them in.

8. My Own twist- I was explaining that my experience with article marketing depending on a few thing- but alot of the above can apply to many people...especially those who may be in my niches, or niches that are related to self help etc...

But anyways, I also have over 1500 articles out. (All written by myself). So obviously that is something else I have going for me- which other people may not- I also mentioned about how the competition can push your articles down each hour- and that is why i have to write so many articles (personal preference here, once again), because for the niches I am in, if I do not (as mentioned), some articles can only get 9 views etc...

But of course, I have yet to backlink- and I technically should still be pumping out articles and submitting- as this is actually my ONLY form of income. It goes like this a lot of the times: If I don't write, I don't make dough.

But of course there is some recurring income from articles which did well, and I have explained above, how I got those articles to do well, but that's just my twist on the whole article marketing thing as well.

9. Article Marketing Mentors: So I also understand it can be hard for some people, as they do not have a mentor- I was PERSONALLY SHOWN and told exactly what to do in all of these aspects, by an experienced online marketer- He/she took the time to thoroughly explain to me how everything works, and even told me so many of their secrets on what was tested and proven etc...

So I get how hard it can be on your own as well- without a mentor, but I hope that some of these tips have helped you, because many of these were tips my own Mentor had given me- and I have also tested them myself and found them to work- but as mentioned, testing is a good thing as is with anything internet related.

Always check your feedback
whenever possible:

Do you have low article views? find out why? Was it because of the competition... if so- try to write more articles, or make stronger call to actions so that people will choose your articles over theirs. OR was it because your article didn't contain enough relevant tips.. or because your article was really dry etc...

Do you have low click through rates? Find out why there too- it may be your author box, call to action- or simply the readers may not be clicking with the advice you are giving, and you need to change how you are delivering your messages. This also happens more often when you outsource, as sometimes the articles will be reduced in quality especially if the writers you hired are not consistent with their spelling and grammar skills.

So always try and look for feedback, as with EZA it is really easy to see the feedback, and how many clicks etc- so everything is accessible to you to get things rolling- even if you are going at it alone.

10. For THOSE WHO HAVE A HARD TIME WRITING ARTICLES:==>

So I do understand that when you are first starting out, it can be hard to generate articles which can do all of the above- especially all in one go, so here is a simple solution that worked for me back in the day, and it can also work for you.

What you can try, if you are bad at writing right now- google your search terms, and pull up any articles on the first page.

See what they wrote- see how they wrote it, their keywords, title etc... then write that- only in your own words.

Eventually after you do this for some time- it will just be in your head, and it will be easier to naturally flow out, WITHOUT losing quality- Also, if you do this- what I just said- it's like repeating every word after I say- You can do that instantly, right?

But if I asked you suddenly to tell me what something like "imperialism" was- you may get stuck on trying to explain it... so until you have worked on each thing enough, things may be hard flowing out just on your own- so that is something that many people do, to help produce articles faster- while still writing them at the same time, with your own ideas etc.. applied to them.

To do that, you can literally just take the whole article- and paste it into a word document, or text file- then begin writing the paragraph- in your own words, and work your way down from there.

Just like this (here is a post that I made into an article):

I was looking for DNS (dragon naturally speaking) for my computer- but I don't have any disc space and I don't have a proper drive on my notebook/laptop. So I am going to have to just get a new PC or something to make space for it. As well, when I write articles, I can easily write like 5-10 articles a day- but after I have written 5, I find the quality just goes downhill from there. So then I don't really write that much, even though I need to, because I would rather have 10 articles of good quality, than 20 really horribly written articles.

BECOMES:

How To Produce a Fast Turnaround Time When Writing Articles! 2 Secrets That All Article Marketers Should Know!

Article writing can be difficult, especially if you are just starting out. You may feel a need to perfect your articles and achieve the highest quality, in hopes that you will have satisfied readers, and in turn satisfied customers. However, what happens when you are unable to efficiently produce articles with an adequate turnover time? Well my friend, here are a few solutions to the "writers block" each and every article writer faces:

Self Block- Often times we put ourselves down and our work, and compromise what can be by worrying about things like... "if I write faster, will the quality go down?". We may even find it difficult to write on the same topic for extended periods of time, and we feel like we lose our writers edge only after having written a few articles. But a simple solution to combat this issue, is to simply write.

Forget about what issues could be, if your content is not good enough etc... because as with anything written- you can always go back and edit it, and that is easily done in article marketing. Remember that we are giving tips to others in our articles, and articles will actually sound more natural and will actually appeal better as well, once you adapt a confidence and comfort in your writing abilities- even when you are challenging yourself to have a quicker turnaround time.

Dragon Naturally Speaking- DNS works well for writing articles, and it appeals to many people as it is can drastically reduce the time frame in which things like articles can be written. To an article marketer it is the perfect tool, however there is an issue with DNS which only allows it to properly function when the disk space on your hard drive is large or freed. This means that DNS often times cannot be easily installed and used on laptops or devices which do not harbor enough space.

So I took the post, and turned it into an article- that is basically what you do. nothing in my article is really copying yours directly or anything like that- as you can see- and that is something I suggest you do, so that you can come out with articles faster, but still have quality- as other REAL articles will actually have the tips and things in them.

So you read the articles then, get an understanding of what was meant/implied- then put that into terms that people can understand in your own unique way.
BUT remember NOT TO directly just copy and plagiarize other people's ideas and things- the purpose of looking at other people's successful articles, ideas etc.. is to simply get an idea of what CAN be said, and then generate that into your own ideas.

11. THE EASIEST WAY TO WRITE ARTICLES IF YOU HATE WRITING OR ARE NEW TO IT:

As well, if you have read the example above- using DRAGON NATURALLY SPEAKING- IS AN option for writing articles. It is a voice recognition software, which turns your spoken words into text. That means you can talk to it, and it will write down everything you say- and when used with the example above of reading other articles and putting them into your own words (especially if you are just starting out), this is a very useful tool then to easily produce many quality articles without the huge hassles and stress you would normally face.

If all else fails- and you still absolutely hate writing articles, and you just can't get past it, then of course you can always consider outsourcing- but remember the tips above as well when outsourcing, because you still want to be able to maintain the quality, click through's, etc... OR, you CAN do this:

12. Article Spinning- I have read so much about article spinning (taking your articles and having them written differently with interchangeable words... I don't really have a great example of this, because I really dont agree with this method in terms of article writing... because it means you are no longer writing it in the end, ...it's computerized to me)

You can find many people offering this service on this forum, as well, as I have noticed- so that is also an option then, if you are having difficulties and hate writing on the same thing over and over again.

Article spinning may be an option for those who want quick content to add to their website, or other article directories etc... depending on WHY you use it, it may actually work in your situation.

However if you are actually depending on article marketing as a main source of income, I really don't recommend it- because I find it can take away from alot of the quality- and I am not sure why you would want to do that to yourself.

So some people are doing this to produce many articles quickly- because they feel they just can't do the REAL writing on their own... and it's just TOO hard to actually write the same thing they already know over again? It just reminds me of this:

You are at "track and field" and you just ran a 400 meter race, and won 1st place. You get the medal, and take it home, and are happy. But then, you want another medal- so you just go to the medal shop, and get the exact same medal made again... only this time you bought it from the store, instead of ran the race.

So to me, it just seems to take away from the whole experience of article marketing itself...so use article spinners. Well anyways, I don't thoroughly agree with article spinning, as you can see. That is just my personal opinion, but as mentioned, and discussed in the above post, what I do personally is writing my own articles... so I prefer to do that, than having to actually use this method of article spinning.

But of course, I do understand that while it may not work for me, it sure can work for others, and if it does- then as with outsourcing, and re-writing other people's articles...just remember the other tips I have offered, so that you can maximize on your potential as a whole.

Remember that you are unique and you do have unique quality content to offer people- believe in yourself, and get writing, and do your best!

================================================== =======

Thus that is some of my experience when it comes to article writing/marketing. As well, I have only marketed with Ezine Articles so far- because as I mentioned, I have not done any backlinking. But as I was explaining my experience to this person in the first place, when I logged in, I was surprised as well to see the following:

Attachment 2758 ===> click to enlarge if necessary, as in my browser it shows as a really small square...lol.

Which is why I also decided to make this post, because I was really shocked and surprised to see that one of my articles had SURPASSED 10,000 views. I think that was pretty cool, as I have never had anything like that before- and I was actually showing this person the article, because it had gotten me the most sales thus far- and I was trying to check it's click through's... and saw the views.

So that was really nice to see- and those views were ALL because of what I had written above, and taking all of the above into consideration- from the title, to the flow, to the call to action etc...

But at the same time, I also sent the person the LINK from the actual picture here, when you click on your article- and then they said they couldn't access it... so then i google'd the title of that article to find it so they could see it, and sadly found out something else.

Someone had stolen my damn article with my author box- and put their own links in there! This was done on Isnare... and I am not extremely thrilled about it. I am still not sure what to do about that- as it's against EZA's rules to do what this person did... and it's really actually quite sly on their part.

But oh well, what can you do-

Also, I received a package today- for being a member of EZA... I didn't think I would get it, as I had read before that only people who are in the USA get it... but it was a mouse pad, pen, note pad etc... all branded with the Ezine Articles name and logo-- so that was really nice as well... Thanks Ezine Articles-

Well anyways, that's my two cents for now- take it or steal it hahaha.

Well thanks- I added some more, I just hope that the point got accross for the things... I should get busy on back linking and test that out, and then see the results and post that as well...lol.

I am sure that would help me in my efforts as well- so. Always stuff to be done- just need to kick my butt to do it.

I've got a few winning articles with 40k+ views in a few months without any backlinking.

Its all about jackpotting with the right keywords - that can take some luck but more so just persisting until you hit the jackpot.

You present some excellent points and as someone who generates alot of income from article marketing, I thoroughly agree with virtually everything you've said. Saves me saying it too

mmm Well I have not earned huge amounts of money with this yet- but 40,000 views...WOW!...lol. and only in a few months? LOL CAN WE TALK PRIVATELY SOME TIME?! hahaha (reveal secrets....you know you want to! OK, but seriously...)

Of course persisting- I should be pumping out over 100 per day. Technically if the niches are really competitive- my articles can be down to the next page on EZA within the hour, even.

Because some of the niches I compete in can have 30 new articles out from people every hour- so if I had an article out every hour in the evening- it can easily be lost in the crowd, thus the need for so many articles.

But i am a lazy butt- but I also won't outsource...ahhaa. So I really need to kick myself to do it, because I know I can. however I find as well, when things get so busy in the hustle bustle like I just explained- sometimes testing can be swept under the table as well...

And I am definitely guilty of that- not thoroughly looking at my feedback, clicks etc-- in fact I dont even remember the last time I checked my clicks... that person had just asked and i started checking everything. But it sure is nice to go back and reflect on my progress and what works, and doesn't work..

well I personally do better with laymans... I once had a person literally answer a post of mine in here by taking a photo, and drawing on it, and then pasting the photo alongside an explanation- and let me tell you that it really helped to have a visual... and their explanation was also very simple.

So, I do understand that as well- that things don't have to be as complicated as some people make it. but then again, I am an article marketer...lol- so perhaps I have learned to be able to do that through article marketing- But for sure if anything is still unclear to anyone, then that's also some feedback I'd like too.

I also didn't cover how to get keywords in this post- but I also think that there are so many posts already covering that, and it's not exactly strictly related to article marketing alone- so I just left it.

LOL, the article was the one with over 10,000 views- so obviously that person knew which one to take hahaha... then I was looking again for that article- and found that SOMEONE ELSE had taken that article as well.... !! But oh well- I cant sit here taking all of those things down either, because by the time I am done, there are probably so many of my articles taken and misused like that as well.

The most strange one I found was this person who took a whole slew of some of my best articles, and then they also took a video of mine from youtbue- plus that article I had just talked about in my original post- and put all of that on their blog-type-website...for a product which is a rival to the product I was actually using these articles to promote.

Kindof irks me a bit, because I love the product I am promoting, and once again, that means this person has changed my author box link to something else- which is once again against EZA rules- but who the heck reads EZA publishing rules anyways... they probably don't even bother to click the publish link- and just directly "copy, paste"... and then change the link.

But of course, can't change those kinds of people- but if anyone ever said I am LAZY... at least I am not that lazy that I literally just have to steal other people's articles like that... because I lack my own "originality", and own "initiative"...lol

          WOW!

I don't think it's worth the effort most of the time- but then again I never give myself all that much credit when it comes to things like this. I would be too picky with the content- and then I would think that something like this isn't really something people would want to buy- as it's really just all layman's stuff...lol

I have another WSO coming out about titles and call to action- which I am currently working on- but hey, that is an idea... but i am not entirely sure as mentioned, that it's something everyone will really think is worth it.

Brad Callen and his stooges would have sold your post as an ebook for $495

I literally had my jaw dropped! I really think that is an unfair/ridiculous price! my god... I would never even dare charge anyone something like that! oh my god. Especially on here... I couldn't afford that myself- LOL...so maybe that's why?

And what's worse: I don't even know who Brad Callen is (I am new here... so still learning who the Big Shots are...lol).

I was thinking the same thing.

I especially like how you showed taking an extra post from this forum and changing it into an article.

I'm adding that to Brad Carroll's bunch.

So here's a question, how many other article directories are you submitting to other than ezine?

Stupid question: what is "Brad Carroll's" BUNCH? What does bunch mean? But yes, if I did make a book, I would definately do that- and I have been thinking to make Powerfully Effective and Extremely Sneaky Headlines- for a few niches, and then offer that in my Sig as well. Like take a niche- and then just generate titles etc... that would grab people's attention. Because I have noticed that for some people it's difficult to continuously generate explosive headlines.

I have NO articles on other directories- as I have done NO backlinking (I have 5 youtube videos out, with about 5-6 links in them from some of my recent EZA articles, but that is it, and that was only recently.) If any of my articles are on other directories, it's because other people have published them- but I have been trying to learn how to do what you just said... (in regards to backlinking for articles alone) and this is what I got from that:

              1. Take Your Article and rewrite it-
do this about 5-10 times. Then you have 5-10 NEW articles, however, they are all still about this same original article.

              2. Submit the New articles to article directories- Find the next leading article directories after EZA, which have a high page rank. Submit the new articles there.

              3. Author box for NEW articles- In the author box do not use the same author box as you would at EZA, but rather alter it, and for the link this time around- you can either use

A). Your link from the original EZA, and backlink for that article.
B). Both the link from your original EZA, and the URL for your website/product.

So is that correct? Since article marketing is what I do, It's kindof weird that I have not even done this yet, but it was because I was actually confused as to how to do it. But I think I was making this far more complicated than it has to be?

But if that is how one would go about doing it, then I guess I should get busy?

And as for the re-writing... it is something that I suggest to anyone who has a hard time producing their articles quickly. I am shocked to see how long it takes some people to produce a 400 word article... it can take some people all day. I don't believe that is necessary, not one bit- just like how you can talk to me in real life, and convey a message instantly, I still believe that it is possible for people to do that in text as well.

I also don't believe that writing things faster would reduce the quality- but so many people say they struggle with that issue, so my solution to that issue became to simply "mirror" articles from your competition- that way you are still writing what works, and quality stuff- but at the same time you have a guideline which will really help things come out faster.

I can write a 400 word article in just 5 minutes. Now I type fast- ok. But I honestly DO NOT see why everyone else on this forum cannot be able to do that- within at least 10 minutes or less. I have found that even people who type "slow", can still eventually get their speed up to at least 10 minutes or less.

So for sure, maybe that's what I should do- is make an ebook on how to write articles faster, while still maintaining quality? because that would work for e-books too... because to me e-books are really just long articles put together on a variety of concepts within one topic.

So there's an idea as well.

He's got a spiffy guide on making 16 different articles from one. He ran it as a WSO. It is an excellent idea generator when you want to do what you said - create 10 articles or more from one.

Ok, but why do I have to SELL it? I mean- so many other people give away information for free on here, I just felt like giving something back as well. It sure is a good idea- but do you really think this is worth selling as an ebook?

Maybe I am too much of a perfectionist? (Thanks Sebastian! lol...) But I don't think this is all too special to be in an ebook or offered here to warriors for sale. I think if I were to sell something like that, It would have to be pretty mind blowing, and REALLY offering something original.

because as mentioned, I am not that big on just re-hashing things like that either. I mean especially to people on here- I would just ask myself, if that was the kind of reputation I would want to build?

Because I am sure this kind of stuff has been said on here before in one way or another...?

But then of course, one could argue that there are always many different people all marketing the same kinds of products... which means they technically could be all selling the same tips- but just in different ways, and unique ways?

But these are the kinds of thoughts that come into my head when I do think about making my own ebooks, products, websites etc... I just get these fears of all kinds of things... like

"what if people say this is crap...?"
"what if this doesn't help people...?"
"what if someone has something better than mine?"
              "what if ...."

I know it sounds silly but it's something I struggle with.

That's what you consider to only 2c worth!!! Good grief, $200 worth for 2c!!! Can't wait to buy some of your products.

You mention throughout your essay (way too good to be called a "post") of the need to "self-kick" your butt.

If you don't compile all that knowledge you have into an info product showing us how we can get the same results as you, WE WILL KICK YOUR BUTT!!!

So - book or buttkicking - the choice is yours. We hope you choose the former.

Imagine if you turned the tutorial you did with me, into an online video- made that into a website, and offered it as a WSO? You could just show them how to do certain things with website generation/creation etc... and do that!

Or you could simply just take screenshots and make an e-book too, and then put that out for people!

Yeh, I have to try this with back linking, and I think in a few months time I will make another post like this, with my results from back linking alongside article marketing- and of course anything else I will have tested in the meantime.

A few people here are suggesting to make a book of this- lol but for now it's here and it's offered just as some tips to people. So yeh! Thanks!

Thanks for the great and detailed post!!

I have a question: you said that in your articles you put 3% density of keywords, it's pretty huge percent actually. Ezinearticles don't allow articles with more than 2% of keyword density. So how do you go around it? And what type of landing page do you have? Is it like a review site or with articles like the ones you published on EZN?

    Thanks a bunch acrasial

Information On The 3% Keyword Density in CORRELATION WITH THE Ezine Articles Policy:

My articles fall around 300-500 words. Mostly these days, they are 350-400 words- so that is also a part of it as well. I can have my keyword "get ex back" appearing 3-5 times. And if I am in a really crafty mood, maybe 6+, but anything beyond that to me, would just be ridiculous in my opinion, and yes, probably wouldn't be accepted by EZA either...especially since it is a heavily known and used keyword, with tons of competition.

So that is also something to take into consideration: that keywords which are popular and have heavy competition, will easily fall into the 2% rule, because EZA didn't fall of the cabbage truck yesterday.

and I also spoke about putting the keywords in so that they actually flow, and make sense in the first place. As well, the more you write, the less harsh EZA will be with you, because you will have proved that you can be more trusted.

I also only use my keywords within the first half of the article, and the rest becomes pure tips. I don't use an ending in any of my articles either- there is a way to be extremely obvious about keyword spamming, and then of course there is a way to be very subtle and more careful with keyword density.

3% is three times in every one hundred words. In the example I had given (where I turned a post into an article), The word "article" appears 11 times.

Now there was a time when EZA would not approve the article, and tell me there was a problem with the article- and they would say it was because a certain word appeared too many times. Now, I have learned to get around that, by finding other words like it then, and just changing it, because sometimes I just don't know any other word than the one I use (and it's not always a keyword).

I also know that they only allow a keyword to appear TWICE in each title-but not three times. I can write a title like this:

How To Get My Ex Back? Stunning Keys Which Will Get Your Ex Back

and the term "get ex back" has appeared twice, in only 14 words..lol.

So their titles have a limit of 100 characters- and I often write titles like the above, and they are ALWAYS ACCEPTED. My point then, is that in the title alone they allow it- but it depends of course on how you placed it, and how you used it, and what your purpose was of using it... and the rest would be left to the editors to say it's fine, or it's too spammy.

So it can all be taken into a context then, when you consider it. It's bad to go beyond 3%, because the search engines will hate you- and that is why EZA may say to only do 2%, because they have a good reputation with the search engines, which they do not want to ruin.

Not everyone can pull off 3%, as they can make it look really silly (like the example I used of some keywords which do not have proper grammar being placed constantly within an article, AS IS).

So that may be why they claim/have those specifications, to keep people from constantly creating really spammy content- because EZA is also big on "ORIGINAL" and "QUALITY" content, and the more density you have, the more easier it is to reduce your quality.

So honestly, it's not really getting around it, because if EZA felt it really didn't fit, and was really overdone (my keywords), they will definately inform me. Rather it's simply getting the ability to do it- so that EZA says, yes this is good, even though it has a higher density...

I am not the only one doing that as well- so, if you can harness the ability to start doing that, then by all means- but of course it's always giong to have to be under EZA's acceptance first.

landing pages? That depends on what kind of product you have. I currently DO NOT have any squeeze pages that contain opt ins. In fact, almost all of my URL's just redirect to the product sales page itself.

I do affiliate work (so I do not have any of my own products), but the products I promote have a high enough conversion rates, and good enough pages themselves, that the redirect works well for me.

However, I am designing new landing pages, with opt ins, and will proceed from there, because that will get you more sales than anything else... as you can send the person emails after with more tips about things, and eventually can persuade them (and gain their trust) to buy the product from you. In fact, you can also harness a customer's lifetime value.

If a person buys something from you, once, there is a high chance they will purchase more things- and that becomes their lifetime value- the total amount a person will spend through you.

Thus you can also harness and access that, by using opt ins on your page. And afterward emailing out FREE things (like articles, videos etc...) so that they can get a glimpse and taste of part of the product, or what they will get- and will feel like getting the whole thing then.

The only place I have articles as of now, is on EZA- so I actually have not personally put my articles anywhere else. other people have published my articles (and stolen them...lol), so I have yet to actually test what my articles are like on other websites, including my own.

So, to recap on how to get a 3% keyword density:

      1. How the keyword works in the article itself: Make it flow, make it work, no bad grammar, and it has to make sense.

      2. Credibility does help- the more you establish yourself (write articles, get them approved) as being trustworthy to the editors on EZA, the less harsh they will be with you, so long as everything still meets their standards for quality.

      3. Keyword placing- Mostly concentrate it within your intro, because you are addressing the problem related to the keyword in the firstplace, and leave the rest of the article for actual information, tips etc... so that the actual content (the tips and information) itself isn't really spammed.

      4. Titles and Exceptions- They allow keywords to appear twice, but not more than this (as I am aware) in titles- as long as it makes sense and flows etc... as well. So there are always exceptions, as long as the context in which you are using the keyword(s) works and follows with the rest of the EZA guidelines.

      5. Context and Competition- Of course the context is considered as well for creating higher keyword densities, because it may also depend on why and how you used the keyword itself- especially at times when there are few other words/synonyms for the keyword.

But as mentioned, keywords which have low competition, are more easily (and strategically) placed in articles when you are trying to achieve a higher density.

      6. Many Keywords- I often don't even use just one keyword either, I usually have about 3 keywords in EVERY article, with the same density, or close. Which means if one keyword does have to be 2%, I still have other keywords which made it to 3%.

So this may also be how I manage to do what i do, because I am not just using one word- I am filling the article with many things and keywords etc... just like in my example, I had also written DNS, Dragon naturally speaking, article writing, article marketing, writing articles, etc... get my jist? But when you read it, it sounded as if you were getting advice and tips- it didn't sound like I was sitting there just choking keywords down your throat.

Now that may sound a bit difficult to achieve at first (cramming a bunch of different keywords into an article, and trying to give them all density) but remember that keywords are generally terms people would use to search and find your article- and most often those terms are related to solving an issue someone has, so then it no longer becomes difficult to strategically place them in the article itself, as you will be solving and answering the person's question.

And that's what I did in the article, I answered someone's question. Just like you would do in a post here, where you answer someone's question- it comes from your head, goes there- and sounds natural, just remember to keep that natural touch when you are writing articles and answering the 'reader's question.

So their question pretty much becomes/or is the keyword(s), and since most keywords are similar anyways, it eventually becomes a natural thing to you to be able to meld all of that together smoothly.

      ================================================== =====================

Finally, a REAL example from EzineArticles Itself- which someone just so happened to write about keywords:

      http://ezinearticles.com/?Article-Ma...ent&id=2031780

Just check how many times the word KEYWORD appears in the article: A STAGGERING 25 TIMES!

that is more than a 3% density, as the article less than 500 words... it's about a 5% density!

But in this scenario, the word "keyword" had to be used- because what else are you going to use? or refer to? get my jist?

KEYWORD STUFFED: Just check out their keyword list they used:

      article marketing,article marketing tips,make money with articles,article writing,articles,writing

I didn't even check how this worked with their other keywords, as they have so many- but presumably their keyword density must be 3% or higher, for most of these. So not only did the stuff this article, but it also works.

And guess what? I used this search term: "ezine article keyword density"

To find this article, and it was on the NUMBER ONE spot on google, for what I searched above.

Not sure what it ranks for his keywords themselves- but I am sure it can't be doing too bad!

So there is a real example of someone else using the same concepts here- So definitely EZA DOES accept it- once you get the hang of HOW TO DO IT. That is why they have the FAQ's and all that stuff, it's to deter people who DONT know how to do it, because alot of people, as mentioned, will take a keyword and put it in an article 1000 times, and without proper grammar or anything else, and it really can just reduce the quality of the article.

But if I were you, I would try this out, and I wouldn't be afraid to- they may not approve everything at first, but they just send you a note saying there is a problem with your article- then you just change/remove a few keywords and eventually you will get the hang of it!

      Hope that helped,

      Regards,

Information On The 3% Keyword Density in CORRELATION WITH THE Ezine Articles Policy:

My articles fall around 300-500 words. Mostly these days, they are 350-400 words- so that is also a part of it as well. I can have my keyword "get ex back" appearing 2-3 times. And if I am in a really crafty mood, maybe 4
Maybe I'm wrong here because Maths wasn't my best subject, but surely the keyword appearing once every 100 words is 1% (which is well within their 2% rule).

Sorry that you had misunderstood, my maths arent that great either- that's why I write..!LOL, But I have corrected the things, so hopefully there wil be less confusion in the future. But please consider the following as well:

But, I had also given at least two examples where the rules were broken- such as in the titles- I have my keyword appear twice in just 14 words.

I had also given a real example from EzineArticles which had about a 5% density for just one word.

I have also explained where and how this would work, (making your density more)... so hopefully those would out rule my typo...lol.

LOL- that is ironic, because the ONE thing I struggle with most, is trying to get my point across. Often times when I am around people they literally ask me "what are you on about?"...or do not understand what the heck I was trying to say.

So this may have been a fluke (lol) that I actually did get my point across to people, because trust me, that doesn't usually happen! LOL. When I think of teaching- I think "ICK"... I couldn't imagine myself doing that-

Because when I was growing up the kids were always extremely mean to some teachers. I had a really good math teacher in grade ten, named Mr.Ho. He was korean, and people would make fun of him for this- and would not listen...talk over him when he was speaking etc...

This continued for the entire course- and I felt bad for the guy- I am not sure if I would want to be a teacher these days, because so many kids just lack respect, and hate being in the class- but are "made" to attend.

Just a thought... but I do work well with examples myself.

I am not one of those people who can really get something without a visual or example- it's hard to just read things and understand 100% of what they said, in my world.

but I am excited that people seem to be understanding this and liking it! LOL!

I've written about 3-4 articles and I never really got that many views from it. However a few days after Michael Jackson died I wrote an article that in about 30 hours time got me about 47,000 views. I have no real Idea how it happened. I had another spike a week later and I'm now at 52,000 views with just under 7000 clicks on my author link.

Whenever I googled "Michael Jackson still alive" my article would show up in the first or second spot. I was only promoting Amazon Michael Jackson products at the time as I never expected that kind of traffic. Turns out I only sold 2 Amazon Michael Jackson Videos to date with all that traffic. I've since tried to monetize my blog with clickbank and even pepperjam network products but I got nothing!

I'm still ranked #1 in most viewed arts and entertainment section at Ezine and #10 in the most published section. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Maybe someone here can tell me why my article did so well in the beginning. I can't post a link to my article here but it's titled "Michael Jackson Still Alive" by Dave Mann

If you were using EZA, and had written anything like "micheal jackson's death" or anything that people would naturally type into google to search and read about it- then you would have likely hit the search engines themselves, or simply had people searching on EZA for information pertaining to his Death.

Hot things- just like the **** berry- will instantly get many views- and in fact, google at first thought it was spam (so many people searching for information about micheal jackson's death), and I think they blocked out those kinds of searches too... it was just that popular.

That is my take on "how" that happened- it was either people from eza themselves searching- or your article hit the search engines early. You will find that with many keywords, Ezine articles will show up on the first page- and mainly within the first 10 slots most of the time as well. so your keywords, or use of "keywords" in the article alone, could have driven people to find your article from search engines.

There you go, you just answered your OWN question- your article hit the search engine- and if it's in the number one or two spot- you will instantly see a HUGE rise in traffic, because it's the first thing people see! As well, since your product relates to Micheal Jackson himself- ANY TIME A LEGEND DIES- anything related to him instantly increases in value, and people instantly want it.

such as memorabelia, information, heck, even just t-shirts! so that is also something else to consider- as well as the fact that, the original cause of his death was not originally known. SO that second influx of people may have simply been people trying to find out how he died, since it wasn't known till about a month afterward.

I would like to see your product itself or your page... because if your product is bad (or your author box/landing page) then people will not be persuaded to buy it. As well, you are selling it on amazon- which means the person doesn't immediately get it right away?

If taht is the case, then keep in mind that you are competing then with FREE video websites, like youtube- where people instantly upload videos, and information about people like Micheal Jacskon instantly...for FREE.

So the person may also be wondering why they should pay for it- and will just search for it elsewhere, since it is a video. Your rankings HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR PRODUCT ITSELF.

You can have a fantastic article- but if your product isn't liked by people, and your author box is weak- you will not see the kinds of conversion rates you wish to see. I spoke about author boxes in my post above as well.

As well, your article has lost it's freshness- it has died down. by the sounds of it, you have also not done any backlinking? So it has definately lots its freshness- so many people have read it, that now they want some new content, and something fresh. Pretty much everyone by now knows that micheal jackson has died- so they won't really be searching for it like they were before.

As well pretty much everyone knows how he died etc... because all the news agencies created such huge hypes surrounding it. So take that into consideration that it was the "15 minutes of fame" moment for your article- and now people have seen it, heard it, ... and want something new again.

I just checked your article !!!!!!! You have NO author box!

FYI your author box is the transition from your article to your link... you just pasted the link itself, by the looks of it!? BIG MISTAKE- You have to make people click the damn link. persuade them- explain to them what they NEED from that link that they can't get anywhere else- and persuade them to get that thing TODAY!

Cheez....You totally missed out BIG Time here... you should have had your author box fixed and running a long time ago! You could have capitalized when everything was huge-...man!

I also mentioned in my post about not having a conclusion in the actual article itself. That is because once you conclude- people assume that is all you had to say, and that it was all you wanted them to know.

Thus never put conclusions like you did- because they will pretty much never want to click the link after that- instead, leave open endings and then bring your EXPLOSIVELY WRITTEN AUTHOR BOX into play.

No offense, but I see so much WRONG with your article, author box, and website itself- that I am not even surprised that you have the issue you have. But I will try and address each and everything here, to the best of my ability.

      Regards,

How to Write An Article So That Readers Can Easily Read It and BUY IT- Tips About Getting Conversions:

This is another tip I have learned, is that people take information best in SHORT BURSTS. Which means that long, and large paragraphs no longer cut it, and people often get bored or miss lines when reading large paragraphs anyways.

If you were to take a look at any movie these days, or youtube video- they are all getting shorter. camera angels in movie's never stay in one place too long, and Producers have even developed the idea to just let the camera be shaky- because people's attention span is extremely short.

Thus, keep your paragraphs short. 3-4 sentences per paragraph, once you are past your INTRO.

It is ok to have a long intro
, as long as you keep the rest in the formatting as I have just described. Intro's can be longer, because they are addressing the question at hand itself- and there isn't going to be the full on information resting there... but in the article body itself, since you are giving information (and people can more easily understand it in shorter bursts), keep tips organized that way.

As well, consider that your intro should really captivate the person and answer their question. Your intro should also be the place where most of your keywords are contained, as I have previously explained, because keywords are generally just people's questions they want answered. That's why they put the terms into Google... becuase they want to find out about it.

And Finally, shorter articles are better received by the readers! Which means that they are more likely to click on your links in your author box, if your article is shorter. Longer articles risk losing the readers' attention- as they may begin looking around at other things, or may just feel too overwhelmed with information at once.

It is best to keep the articles between 300 and 400 words MAX. Anything beyond 400 is itching at losing it's effectiveness from a marketing standpoint. As well, I know that EZA does accept articles which are below 300 words (but more than 250), but short articles do not always do well either, as readers feel ripped off.

You still want to have them feel as if they are getting all the information they need- but you also want it to be a quick birst of information, where they can find out the rest ON YOUR ACTUAL website.

      The conclusion- REMOVE IT
. Just as I talked about people who have an author box which looks like a complete autobiography- the conclusion is completely detrimental to your article. You want to leave open endings, so that you can easily transition into your author box, and transition the reader to want to click your author box.

As mentioned- when you include a conclusion, people assume that there was nothing more you wanted them to know, and they feel like there is nothing more to know. Thus, they will not be very persuaded to want to go to your website, as you have just subconsciously told them that this was it.

Thus you need to completely remove your conclusions- after your very last tip. Which means you will no longer be tying everything together AT THE END of your article, but rather will need to tie everything together AS YOU ARE GOING ALONG.

Thus, you will have an open ending, which leaves the reader WANTING MORE. since you are using articles to marketing products in the firstplace, it is absolutely critical that you leave your reader wanting more.

How To Blend Your Author Box Into Your Article- Tips On How To Transition Your Article Into An Attention Grabbing Sales Pitch!

So now you have created an opening for your author box to smoothly flow in. As I have mentioned, your author box is the little space you have to literally scream your marketing skills at someone. You can use a person's desperation, to draw then in to click your link- you can use fear, emotions, catches....free, or anything you like- but in this space you MUST NOT be afraid to toy with and play with things to literally FORCE people to want to buy whatever it is that you have.

So for now I am just going to give some sample author boxes and I will explain them further afterward:

      SAMPLE #1: RELATIONSHIP NICHE:

Your Ex is Going To Find Someone Else-

As of this very moment, your ex may be dating someone else, and unless you take ACTION now, your ex will be lost FOREVER! To get your ex back I strongly urge you to read everything on the next page, before it's too late ---get my ex back--- (this would be your link)

      ==========================================

So those are just a few examples, and even though they are in different niches- they all have a few things in common:

      1. Short bursts-
once again, people take information best in short bursts- so why would you want to overload them with an extremely long author box, or with an author box that is half a page long, and contains 3 different links/concepts.

Thus, keep your author boxes relatively short- and get straight to the point... but make sure that your author boxes really do BURST in this case.

      2. Heading- All of them have a heading or "catch phrase" used to draw the reader in. You can use anything you want as a heading- but it has to be extremely eye-ball grabbing. You can make a heading that play's with someone's emotions, by telling them what they are going to lose. You can make a heading that will tell them what they can be etc...

BUT always ensure that your heading is like your own mini-title to your article. Just like the article title- make sure your heading for your author box POP's...give them a reason to read your author box in the firstplace!

      3. The words and structure-
Your entire author box needs to literally have the person desperate by the time your link shows up- and so desperate and enthralled by what you just said, that they will want to click it PRONTO. DO NOT be afraid to use strong call to action in your author box- because this is the end of the page- and like with a conclusion... once it ends- everything is over-

Only, you DONT WANT IT TO BE OVER FOR THE READER- and that is exactly why you can use call to action in your ENTIRE AUTHOR BOX. Because you are trying to tell them that they need more. You don't want this author box to simply end off and then have a link- you want your author box to literally start something again, Like a dominoes effect.

Just before the link, as well as you may have noticed, I have used words and phrases which tell the person what to do, and explain why they should do it. What am I telling them to do? I am telling them to go to the next page, click the link etc..

It is OK to tell people to do this in your author box as you are going along- as you have already established that they need something and you have the solution- but now you are telling them WHERE they can access this solution.

It is very important to show the reader WHERE they can get whatever it is you JUST talked about- so that they actually click your link. if you just place a link there randomly- they wont know WHY it's there... what it was put there for, UNLESS YOU TELL THEM.

So tell your readers to click, go there etc...

      4. The Link Itself- NEVER PASTE A LINK AS IS!!!!
I cannot stress this enough, that you should never just paste your link into your author box as it is. YOU MUST use HTML and change what your link actually says.

I don't care if your keywords are in your actual website link- I don't want to see any WWW. or .COM in your author box, understood?!

This means if your link was "http://www.mmmmoneymakinginfo.com"- you will literally EDIT THIS in your author box to become the following:

Get Your Money Making Tips By- CLICKING HERE (the words/text are still the same link, but instead of showing up as the link itself, they show up as WORDS.)

The above can be done by using the following code *(for ezine articles):

      <a href="http://YOURWEBSITEURL.com/" target="_blank">CLICKING HERE</a>

Anywhere that there is red text above- you would respectfully replace with your ACTUAL link, and whatever it was that you wanted your link to then become.

IN the example above, the link would become "clicking here"- and... but you can also edit your link to CONTAIN actual keywords.

Which means if your keyword was "make money" you can do the following:

      <a href="http://
      www.mmmmoneymakinginfo.com/" target="_blank">Make Money Now</a>

Then the your link would appear as the words "make money now", rather than just a bland and boring old link, "with http://", or "www". We want things to be clean and crisp, to help the conversion rate, right? And changing the actual URL link from its original format will do just that.

** as well, this code can just be pasted after any text that you want your link to appear in. It can also be pasted between text- but must be pasted as is- but as mentioned, you can edit the website, or the words at the end.

But here is an example of using this CODE in the middle of the text:

Lose 9 Pounds Every 11 Days!
Did you know that there is a Proven and Guaranteed way to LOSE WEIGHT and shed the pounds like crazy? Find out Now How To Lose Weight By Clicking Here!

When you are putting submitting your article, the author box would then look like this (with the HTML):

      <b>Lose 9 Pounds Every 11 Days!</b>
Did you know that there is a Proven and Guaranteed way to
<a href="http://YOURWEBSITEURL.com/" target="_blank">LOSE WEIGHT</a> and shed the pounds like crazy? Find out Now How To Lose Weight By <a href="http://YOURWEBSITEURL.com/" target="_blank">CLICKING HERE</a>

      5. BOLDING, UNDERLINING, ITALICS, and ALL- You may have also noticed, that I bold the heading of each author box- and I may also bold a few KEY words in the author boxes as well. This is done to draw more attention, and further emphasize things. You really want people to notice your author box and be drawn to it.

That is why you can bold and do that- just like you would do for the article title itself- and perhaps even the beginning of each point in your article.

Just like I have been bolding each point here- and then I described it- It is easier to define and pickout then- from the rest of the article (and content on the website)... is it not? It tells people that this thing is REALLY IMPORTANT-... so don't be afraid to use bolding, underlining etc--

However you may have to use some HTML in order to acheive this. You may have noticed in the above example, I showed you how your author box would look when pasted into the Ezine Articles Interface, and I had the following on the header:

      <b>Lose 9 Pounds Every 11 Days!</b>

The "B" simply instructs that this entire line will be bolded. It has to be encased with these < >- to start, and will contain a backslash to end. Just like a URl always ends with a backslash- so will the last Bold command.

But as you can guess, that B stands for bold (just like it does in your post editor here on the Warrior forum, and just as it does in Microsoft Word itself),

"I" would be used for italics and so forth.... and you can actually find what kinds of tags (HTML) are allowed in your author box for any website- on their interface. But the following are allowed for Ezine articles (I have not used all of these, but I will try and provide the best examples of what they do):

      <b> <strong> <i> <em> <u> <br> <pre> <blockquote> <xmp> <ol> <ul> <li>

You can find what these tags do, with examples on the following websites:

http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com/quicklist.html (just tells you what the tags will do, and also even more HTML that is not listed here- but only the above are accepted on EZA)

http://www.december.com/html/tutor/basic.html (you can click on them below to see the exampls, and it also has listed the <li> code as the prime example (which puts bullet points in).

So don't be afraid to also test out the HTML- as you can really do some neat things, and make your author box really POP and stand out by using them.

      Thus:

Recap on how to write articles which will SUCK READERS IN:

      1. Short Bursts-
it's easier for people to digest. Short paragraphs, keep things simple. 3-4 lines per paragraph.- even in the author box- however it's ok to have an author box which is as long as your intro- as long as you ensure that your reader's attention can be kept.

      2. Intro's can be longer- Since the intro is generally not the information itself, but the leading into the actual information- it is ok to have longer introductions in your articles. Make sure to keep your introductions interesting and captivating, if you are making them longer- otherwise the reader will get bored.

      3. Article Word Count- 300-400 words works best- and you can get all of your information in there at once, without making the reader feel ripped off- and you also maintain their interest, as it's not too time consuming to read.

      4. Open Endings- Do not conclude any article, because you do not want to subliminally be telling the reader that you have nothing more to say.- but rather conclude everything as you go along. Such as in everytime you have a point, at the end of it say something like "thus, this will " and then list the next point.

This ensures that you are still tying everything together, and makes it easy for you to completely OMIT the conclusion. It also ensures that you have an easy opening to begin your Author Box explosively.

      5. The Author Box Leadin- Bold it- underline it, whatever you need to do, and make sure you have a strong call to action,

      6. The Link- Never just leave the link as is, edit the URL so that it becomes clickable text- either by inserting your keywords, or a catch phrase like "click here".

      ================================================== ===============
Taking all of that into account: here is the article re-edited, and partially re-written (but keep in mind this is just an example- and not something I would want to you use as a final product), using everything I have just said in this post....

Here is your (EXAMPLE) article Re-Done- anything in orange is just my further explanation of concepts:

Michael Jackson is dead at 50 years old on June 25 2009. The "King of Pop" was an icon around the globe with millions of fans worldwide. But how could this have happened? What contributed to Michael Jackson's death? (you will now proceed to answer this question, so I have generated a new paragraph below, because from now on, you are discussing something/giving information...rather than just leading into it.)

Many say it was his prescription drug use- Perhaps it was the stress on the "Mega" come-back he was planning. While the medical examination proved that he did in fact die from a drug related overdose, there may have been a few things which have caused his untimely and shocking death. is still unknown however there is another method Jackson was reported to have used a few years back while still in his prime as his "Bad" tour was taking place.

The little known secret to Jackson's Success-
Jackson was reported to have used audio recordings back when he was touring on his "Bad" tour, which programmed his mind to be more receptive.
Through audio recordings Michael was said to be able to program his frontal neural lobes to weed out interferences and open up the communication channels inside his mind that are often blocked by the conscious mind.

This was said to become the main source of inspiration for Michael's post "Thriller" album. The audio recordings would later prove to become priceless as it has now sold over thousands of copies worldwide, but if Micheal Jackson was such a success in his own mind, and he was able to control those aspects, why was he not able to control the challenge of a drug addiction
      ?

While it is not clear if Jackson used the recordings up until his tragic passing, it was very clear that Michael Jackson had a flare for the unknown and often reflected on secret and powerful tricks which he had come to harness over his lifetime. As these little known secrets about Micheal Jackson are coming to light, many people are being shocked and awed about the personal life of Micheal, which most people never got to see.

P.S.===> Hemmy... The reason i said that I wouldn't personally use this example as the final copy- is because I actually found your original article hard to understand. First you talked about his death, then you started talking about some recordings- it was actually EXTREMELY UNCLEAR what your final point was supposed to be?

I would strongly suggest then that you actually draw your points together better- so that everything flows and concludes into everything. I wasn't sure if you were tyring to talk about a technique he used to be successful- or if you were just discussing his death- or if you were trying to suggest that his technique may have saved his life if he had been properly implementing it?

You also didn't really discuss his trick- and since you did not- you can also leverage on that, and use your author box to draw the people in and tell them they can "find out what the real trick was by clicking here" etc...

But honestly, If I were you- I would make the article more understandable- and more clear as to what question you were actually addressing, because it seems you went off in a tangent- and that can really hurt your sales and conversions.

So I just tried to edit the article above- just to show you what i was meaning with the paragraphs, author box and bolding etc... however The article itself can be re-done and made to be more clear.

Also some of your english is not proper, and your grammar is not as effectively written as it could be- and that also reduces the quality and understandability of your article- so that's just a few things I noticed about your article.

I would suggest then, that you take what I have said above- and PICK one of those topics to re-write this article about-so that you are in fact just addressing one thing, and are getting your point accross- so that you can have a better leadin to your author box.

You certainly can. Just think... why do people need life insurance?

because SCARY THINGS CAN HAPPEN AT ANY SECOND. So tell people those scary things, write articles which tell them those horror stories- and leverage on that with your author box, so that they feel so damn emotional to find out more about life insurance, that they click your link.

Death and tragedies are scary and extremely painful financially and emotionally for people... you have the perfect thing to leverage on here- life or death! emotions, fear... debt etc... These are all things everyone would love to avoid- right?

So it should actually be easy to create strong call to actions for your niche- as it is something that can affect everyone at some point or another... unless of course they get protected (right? )

Thanks for clearing that up about the keyword density. Sorry if I missed this but how many articles are you submitting per day? And how much would you say you're earning per article?

I honestly have no idea how much I am earning per article- I haven't really worked that out. LOL... because I am not properly marketing my OWN stuff. As in I don't backlink, and I am not thoroughly consistent with submissions everyday. But, when I am- I can say that obviously I would be earning alot per article then.

As mentioned, I have about 1500 articles out, on Ezine Articles. I was previously submitting anywhere between 20+ per day, and all the way up past 100. I should technically be submitting at least 100 per day or more, but I have grown lazy within the past 2 weeks...LOL.

(the reason I said about 100, is because I actually have to cover a few niches, not just one or two...)

However, as mentioned, the reason I submit so many, mainly has to do with stiff competition. I can have one article out in the conflicts niche- and it's literally down by 30 positions within the next hour. So sometimes the competition can be really harsh.

Thus, that is why I would say to submit more- however it is very possible to get the same results ( I have previously done this) in niches which are less competitive. And what I meant by results, was tons of views, and conversions.

In fact, I used to just put up 3-10 articles each day- and then make about 100$ per day just on that- but that was back in the day, and my niches have grown EXTREMELY competitive since then. So I always just look at how much I am earning per day, rather than per article.

I see you are in NYC, I bought DNS from J&R a couple of weeks ago to help jumpstart writing a training manual. It's very good - you just need to know what you want to say I'm definitely going to try it for articles because I tend to be somewhat chatty when writing.

Thanks a million Acrasial! Honestly I have no idea what I was doing! I've just been reading and daydreaming about being able to do the things I read about in these forums.

I really got into this kind of stuff by accident as some guy at work tried to turn me on an auto-surf site (ASD). A lot of my co-workers lost tons of money. Because you needed a site to advertise I found out about clickbank. A few weeks later instead of putting all my money into this ponzi of an auto-surf I started selling my clickbank product to the other auto-surfers, but in a very unique way which I was able to net about $9000 in a month and a half.

My highest clickbank sale day was $490. When the ASD ponzi went belly-up (like all auto-surfs) so did my money. So ever since I've been reading and trying everything.I'm hook on online marketing!

I really appreciate that you took the time to respond. This forum has so much information sometimes I think my head will explode. I read it every morning before work as it gives me Hope!

I have answered your question on why your ARTICLE was not working- and I have explained how to put in an author box, what kind of author box, things which work etc... and all those details in the post- that post is done for now.

I will make another post shortly, explaining why your WEBSITE does not work, and how you can have a website that leads well from your author box, to increase your conversions.

So check back for that later, as I will gradually post that and explain what's going on there.

I have answered that in the post above titled: How to Write An Article So That Readers Can Easily Read It and BUY IT- Tips About Getting Conversions:

      You can find
it underneath a reply that I had to someone else about their article- and i took their article and broke everything down, and explained how to make an author box that works, and how to make an article which flows well into your author box.

Awesome information! So are you using these articles for clickbank products/affiliate products, adsense, or both? I've had great luck using ezinearticles to drive traffic to an adsense site.

I haven't used adsense yet, because as mentioned- I am only using eza. All my my websites redirect to affiliate products from clickbank- which means most of them do not even have a landing page.

But I have had some squeeze pages made- and will be testing that out soon, with the articles. I am not even driving traffic to my own websites- LOL. It sounds crazy, but I just am driving traffic to clickbank products I promote, so that I can get some sales...lol!

I love doing that. One day, I may have my own products and drive the traffic to my own stuff- but not yet.
