I've been promoting affiliate / CPA offers for over 16 years.

Below is basically how I do it. However, it may not be best suited for CB or all products, as I mainly generate leads. It may open your eyes to other opportunities that exist with affiliate marketing.

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. This is because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher compared to offers that require a sale to be made.

I favor offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them, as they have overall worked the best. They also tend to have the greatest mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience), so the potential exists to produce high volume and they are fairly easy to cross promote on the back-end.

Some of the verticals (niches) I have done extremely well with are: education, insurance, loans, debt, credit, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, homeowner offers, etc...

The bulk of the offers that I promote pay $20-$40 per lead, but I also promote offers that pay more and less. You don't want to get too caught up on what an offer pays because how well it converts is just as important. For example, if you have an offer that pays $9, but if it converts at 2X or more of a $20 offer, then it will perform about the same or possibly better. At the same time, if you have an offer that pays $90 and it converts poorly, it may not even be worth promoting.

Bottom line: it's far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

I have also done just as good with dating website sign ups and pretty good with free trial + S/H offers. I also promote a very limited number of offers that are straight up purchase offers. However, mass appeal needs to exist and I look for one of the following to also exists:

    1) The product is New and/or novel-unique and you can't purchase it locally or even something similar. I don't waste my time with it once something similar shows up in Walmart.

    2) The buyer can truly get what is being offered at a decent discount.

    3) Solves a house is on fire type problem.

Which most of all of the above (non lead gen offers) I will promote on the back-end.

I drive traffic to the offers by acquiring 3rd party email data, which is data that the users have shown an interest in a specific vertical(niche) and have given permission to receive messages from third parties. You get the opt-in record for every user and it's 100% can-spam compliant.

By acquiring data instead of buying traffic, I'm building assets that I then own and can market to over and over at very low cost. So I control and can drive traffic on-demand to the offers I'm promoting.

You can also acquire what is call rev-share data (revenue-sharing). Which is 3rd party data as I mentioned above, except you get it for $0 upfront costs. You then split the revenue generated from sending it, with the data provider. So you are only paying for data(leads) that convert. This is a way to start for those with tighter budgets.

So for example, if I'm getting data for life insurance, I then send a life insurance PPL offer. If I'm getting education data, I send an education PPL offer. So I'm just matching the vertical to a relevant PPL offer on the front-end. In addition, I'm always collecting my opens / clickers, segmenting and removing unresponsive users. So I'm essentially converting the data from quantity to quality and then cross promote offers on the back-end to the most responsive users.

Basically, I monetize the data using PPL offers because they offer the path of least resistance to generating conversions($$$) and converting the data into cash producing assets.

Obviously, there is more to it, but done right it can be extremely profitable. Everyone that I know that is in the business and knows what they are doing, for the most part, does 6-7 figures. While that's a huge range, much comes down to one's ability to scale and effectively build / manage the infrastructure needed to scale.

    Something to think about.

When you join an Affiliate program and pick the items that you need to offer, merchants give you a remarkable subsidiary code that you can use to allude activity to the objective site. Most associate projects will offer instant content connections, standards and different types of imaginative duplicates whereby you just need to duplicate the code and place it on your site to begin alluding activity. At the point when intrigued guests tap on these connections from your site they get diverted to the item site and on the off chance that they buy an item or subscribe to an administration you as the referrer make a commission.

The venders can track your execution through your associate ID and the offshoot programming projects (eg. WP Affiliate Platform) that they utilize. You likewise have finish, continuous access to all deals and commissions details.

You don't have to offer items all an opportunity to make a commission. Distinctive member projects can utilize diverse installment terms, for example,

Pay per Sale: In this program a shipper pays you a level of the deal cost when the buy is finished.

Pay per Click: In this program you get paid in view of the quantity of guests you divert to the Merchant's site from your partner site, regardless of whether a deal is made.

Pay per Lead: You get paid once the alluded guests give their contact data on the objective site by rounding out a basic contact shape.

    That's a very broad question.

You need to figure out how to get traffic to the offers you want to promote and how to convert that traffic to leads. I recommend you read up on this forum more to get an idea of the basics.
