How to use presell in the wrong way....

(Another one of my occasional rants. I had another one recently about dealing with GoDaddy. No, I'm not a member of the "do not use GoDaddy at all costs" crowd. However, there are useful things to know in that post that could save you time and money if you have more than a few domains registered with them -- or more than a few of their services.)

So, here I am...peace and quiet -- more or less.

Finally. I can sit down and get some work done.

I'm "invisible" on skype.

I get a Skype from someone, someone I'm not unfriendly toward -- but from whom I have not heard in quite a few months.

"Please go to this site!"

Huh?

My dear warrior friends,

If you want to lose any possibility of making a sale with me -- maybe forever -- disturb me after silence of several months' duration with "please go to this site." And then argue with me about it. About how it will be helpful to me and my clients. And then ask me what I'm doing for my clients ("And how is that any of your business?")

Be completely insensitive to the fact that you are interrupting me (something I made clear very early on.) The only reason I kept responding is because I don't feel unfriendly toward this person -- I'm just very unhappy at being disturbed to go to a sales page promoting a product that has nothing to do with what I am currently working on. (Yes, I'm sure the information is helpful -- but not to me at this time.)

Timing is everything. Use it powerfully, and it can be your friend. Use it incorrectly, and watch your business blow up.

Just a few friendly reminders -- hopefully it will help some of you out there, and serve as a reminder to others.

Live JoyFully!

Judy

Pretty unreal that some one would use that as a genuine method of getting traffic or generating interest.

This is why I regularly audit my skype contacts to make sure they only contain friends, business connections and intelligent human beings who won't try and sell to me or waste my valuable time.

he's a sweet man, I don't really want to remove him from my contacts.

I can remember jumping down the throat of a couple of my friends (still skype contacts) when they did this to me. For one of them, it actually opened up a useful discussion. Maybe it was the great second line he used with me -- which was quite targeted to ME.

I'm not going to kick out my relationships simply based upon one oops.

Some of my friends are just over-anxious and excited and still learning. I appreciate their enthusiasm -- although not at the time, LOL.
