Can't Afford a Domain

Hello my fellow warriors,

I was wondering how could i build a landing page or drive traffic without a domain because i dont have the money for it?

    If you can't afford a domain - or hosting - you are limited to freebies like blogger or blogspot.

    If your goal is to make money online - a better plan would be to earn enough through a job or selling your services to afford the basics needed to work online.

    What do you need a landing page for?

    You can drive traffic via participation in groups, forums, even here, use your signature file to drive traffic.

    On a practical, been there and done that, here is how lesson: I've sold thousands of dollars of little Hotsheets and reports by having a promotion posted at Dropbox, and getting traffic via participating.

    So, again, what do you think you need a landing page for? And why won't one of the dozen of FREE websites do the trick for you?

    Godaddy $.99 promotion . . . but I agree with Discrat.

    Having a domain is not going to make you money without a practical plan to provide something of value to a targeted market. You'll also need a way to drive traffic and a way to accept payment and deliver the goods.

    You certainly should be able to afford $10 for a domain. And you can get hosting from $1 for the first month if you search around. Several autoresponders offer free accounts and simple landing pages. You can try GetResponse free for the first month, and they have nice landing page templates, as well as Thank You pages. The page designer is drag-and-drop, and the hosting is built in to the account.

    Yes you can afford a domain. The guys above said you can get one between 99cents to $2.

    But as Steve said a domain all by itself is worthless...useless!

    Unless you learn some skill sets and take massive action.

    But you're mindset is what will determine the level of results that you will experience on every single level of your learning curve / grind / process.

    If you need something like a domain, don't use old thought patterns that say stuff like I can't.

    Start right now by asking...how can I afford one?

    Kay also made a very important point...if you don't have the start up budget yet...find a way...new job etc.

    Making Real Money Online isn't a gimmick.

    It's a real business that will cost money, efforts and time.

    A domain is only $10 a year. If you can't afford that then perhaps start to do services such as article writing or link building until you can afford that.

    Use Youtube and Gmail. They are free and can be used for a lot of benefit things you want, if you know how.

      Sometimes, and I'm as guilty as anyone, we experienced Warriors can get a little snarky, having read for the 100th time this week, about some broke bloke who wants to be told how to make money.

      So, being how it is better to teach a man to fish, than to feed his hungry ass for a day...here is exactly HOW, anyone with no money or experience can at least get started and learn a PROCESS for IM transactions.

      FREE tools to use:
      Open Office. OR Google Docs. Use this for creating a product and a promotion.
      PayPal (if available) or whatever payment processor your country allows. IF you can not accept money, you could offer your product for an AMAZON gift certificate (I've done this too).

      Get a DROPBOX account, and Gmail one too. Having a Gmail acct. gives you access to all of the goodies Google has for free, including DOCS. 0

      Now you've got 3 out of 4 of the basic tools you need to start IM.
      A way to CREATE a product....via Open Office.
      A PLACE to host your sales promotion, and the product itself (dropbox)
      A WAY TO TAKE money, or to get paid.

      The missing element is TRAFFIC. For now, use the signature file allowed here, and participate in groups at Facebook and other networks.

      So far, not a penny spent.

      What kind of product? Well over 40 years ago, a guy, Joe Karbo, taught me about HOTSHEETS. 20 years ago I wrote a report about them. Today there are dozens of reports and courses on creating: hotsheets, cheat sheets, one page publications, maps, puzzles, study guides, info graphics...and tons of other things too.

      Recently other Warriors have reported success selling simple one page cheatsheets or guides, so it would be a great product to start with, and in some cases, you could use FREE ones already done for you.

      probably a good read for many New Warriors thinking of starting a business.
      There are scores of sites like this one, where Public Domain and free info is available to help you create your first product.

      Now you have an idea of a quick, easy, simple type of PRODUCT you could use to get started learning how to do IM. You can enhance your product by adding pics, free images, some graphs, charts or whatever.

      Create a pdf with Open Office, put it up at Dropbox. Now write a PROMOTION, a SIMPLE sales page, and put a paypay button, or explain how your visitor can get your product.

      Then, use your sig file here, and let us know, maybe ask for critique in appropriate sub forum, and get some feedback.

      It is a mini version of what will need to do if you are serious about making money in IM.

      Because, you will always need: a PRODUCT/SERVICE to sell.
      A PROMOTION. (Could be email, youtube video, sales page, JV)
      A way to get PAID.
      AND
      PEOPLE who want what you have. Traffic, targeted via your marketing channels and methods.

      If you can't spend a week, and use free, and go through the very simple process described, then chances are high, you will spend money, chase shiny objects, and walk through fields of cow pies, squishing your time between your toes and ending up with stinking nothing a year from now.

      So, if you don't have money, you better get busy LEARNING how to do it, and it only costs time and effort to LEARN.

      Or don't.

        Thanks Gordon.

        I hate to seem like one of those broke "blokes" looking for a easy way because im willing to work hard and learn and master a skill to make money. It's just I look up ways and methods, etc to make money and valuable skills but i never get anywhere. For example, copywriting is a profitable and valuable skill and everywhere i look, professionals will tell you how to improve and how to get clients but they NEVER tell you where to start. All im looking for is a place to start, a career to start and i'll be fine.

    1 and 1 Offers domains for .99 for new customers. I would definitely consider selecting the domain name that way. When you have made some money from your free websites, then get very cheap hosting, and start building your business.

    Sometimes people in dire straits can do amazing things. I wish you luck!

    I get free domains through Freenom.com

    Now a lot of people will probably post and say the free domain extensions like .tk .ml .ga and others are not valuable. They use crappy DNS services or whatever else but the fact is that you can get a domain name for free, it is TOP LEVEL meaning a REAL DOMAIN NAME, not a sub-domain. and again, it's free.

    Just point the DNS to a free wordpress hosting account and BAM you have a 100% free website and domain name.

    Now some people may say if you cannot afford a $10 domain or hosting account then you shouldn't be trying at all.

    I say rubbish to that!

    As someone who has been both flat broke and flush with cash I know for a fact that you don't HAVE to spend money to get your first customer online.

    you can get free domains at freenom.com... just find an affiliate offer and you can cloak your affiliate link with the free domain from freenom.. then you might aswell set up a bing ads campaign lol. Not the greatest strategy.. you should just a niche that's not competitive. If you have a local plasma donation center you can get money every week donating plasma and use that money to fund your "to be" business lol

    kaleb wade , What skills do you have at the moment? What knowledge do you have? What jobs have you worked in in the past? What problems have you solved for yourself and for others in your life?

    Are there any skills that you could parlay on upwork.com to start earning some money to invest into IM?

    Follow what Gordon has said above, he's been around the direct marketing world for a very long time and knows what he's talking about. Also, Marlon Sanders has a FB group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/marlonsanders/) where he shares excellent cheatsheets to help get started and gain clarity.

    As for copywriting, what do you mean by 'they NEVER tell you where to start?' -> If you are looking to start learning the skill, there are courses that you'd have to spend money on or, read the classics and practice daily. You can find some of the books mentioned free online as they are public domain (Scientific Advertising), Boron Letters are free on Gary Halbert's site, and others you could get for cheap in second-hand book shops.

    If you can't afford it ask yourself:"How can I afford it?"

    To drive traffic you will need money unless you are planning to drive traffic just using free strategies that require lots of your time and are not as scalable as paid traffic.

    Unfortunately, it's extremely difficult to create a high-quality landing page and acquire traffic, with zero funds. You should save up at least $100 for a domain, hosting, and additional funds for creative design work, etc.

    You can sell directly from a Facebook Page or Group, or a Google+ account, or you a YouTube video where you are not really limited as to what you put in the description of an uploaded video.

    You can offer products and services directly from any of that above, putting your order link right on the site or in the video description.

    With YouTube being a VERY powerful search engine, if you set your videos up properly, your ideal customers would find you. The same on Facebook where the search feature is excellent.

    It all depends upon what you are trying to do and how you are starting off. The suggestions that I just made would probably work best for selling affiliate products.

    Let's assume you want to do affiliate marketing:

    You can use Wix.com, Personally I would recommend creating a youtube channel and join the amazon affiliate program. Then, you look for stuff you can sell on there, now based on the products find a niche. Then you can create a niche channel, and if you have a mic you can create videos using slides and windows movie maker, then you can also get instagram and promote your channel via there.

    If you don't have a mic, or don't want to talk then you can use a free text to speech (google it, i know theres a free one there) and use that for your videos.

    Look at he does product reviews and doesn't show his face, or does anything fancy. He probably now has enough for hosting and domains.

    If not: You can start doing small jobs for people on fiverr, you can use youtube comments to get more people to go to your gig or again, you can do upwork, or do work for really cheap and make enough money.

    You can get an .xyz domain for less than $2. If you don't have that much to invest in your business then you are going to struggle very much.

    Domain is not really your problem because it's so cheap, you can even get a $0.68 domain from namecheap. Your real problem maybe hosting but if your business is not that big or just a startup, there are loads of hosting sites offering FREE Acounts around, just google it and if your business worked and you need a bigger website or bandwidth then just upgrade to premium or business account.
