Could you suggest ways in which I could increase traffic to my blog?

Dear friends,

I'm a newbie blogger and I wanted your advice on how I could increase traffic to my blog. My blog is called nature is my home and is all about capturing moments in nature that have a story to tell.

Would also appreciate some feedback regarding my blog and blog posts in general.

Hi Rahul. The main idea is to find where your target market (people who love nature) are and put yourself 'in front' of them.

You put yourself in front of them online by looking for places where you feel they would hangout online...platforms and online communities...maybe even a forum for nature enthusiasts.

This will be your work and research to find.

Then become part of those communities by 'adding' value and building new relationships.

If such a forum exists...make sure that you can have a signature link to your blog.

There are also other methods such as blog commenting that you can learn more about by using the search feature above.

First off, the photos are good; you have a good eye.

That said, your tagline is "Capturing moments in nature that have a story to tell." Yet after reading a couple of posts, I didn't really see any stories, just a few aphorisms from you.

You are getting some engagement, but most of the comments (except for one anonymous link spammer) are from other Blogger users. The comments are generic enough that I'm guessing that most of them are looking for backlinks. Start by following any of their links that catch your eye and return the favor, but with better comments.

There is a positive in this, and a lesson. Rory pointed you in the right direction - go where people interested in your content already gather. If it were me, I'd start with people interested in nature photos.

Facebook and Twitter might be naturals, if you pardon the expression. 'Boost your spirits' themed blogs/forums might welcome your contributions. A Flickr account where you can also post your photos (and link back to your blog from your profile) might work. Share the photos by offering to let people use them in return for a backlink to your blog.

Short version, don't wait for people to find you. That's like going to a party and waiting meekly in the corner for people to talk to you. Go to the party and introduce yourself.

Brian Dean has some great strategies on his site - backlinko.com.

John Morrow has another good site - smartblogger.com.

If you're interested in outreach methods specifically, both the moz blog and ahrefs blog have some pretty good articles.

You really need to read some posts like:

Unless you think you're going to drive all your traffic yourself forever, then you might want to think about this.

    Just sayin...

    Hi Rahul,

    A few ideas:

    - why are you blogging? Do you feel passionate about nature? I think so. I feel it. But you want to feel the passion to, to act on solid, proven advice to drive traffic

    - write 1000 words daily just for practice; doing so helps you get clear on your writing voice and helps your blog and brand find its own voice, too, which are both traffic boosters

    - stay on topic. Staying on topic helps readers see you as a go-to guy in your niche over the long haul, which will increase your traffic

    - build your email list for traffic on demand

    - write 3-5 paragraph comments on top blogs in your niche. If you check Steve's list of bloggers below, I have been featured on most of them. Yaro has endorsed my flagship eBooks, the folks at Pro Blogger asked me to write a guest post, and I wrote a few that were published over there, I was mentioned on John Chow's blog and also have been featured on Virgin, Forbes, Fox News and Entrepreneur...writing in-depth, thoughtful comments on top blogs in my niche helped me get my foot in the cyber door for all of these rocking features....and certain folks on that list even wanted to guest post on Blogging From Paradise

    - answer questions on Quora, in the nature niche

    - use 1-3 eye-catching images; eye-candy can drive traffic

    - employ live broadcasts on YouTube and Facebook and Periscope; I adore live video...it is the wave of the present and future, and also can drive blog traffic

    - run a podcast; I publish a new episode bi-weekly and found a few of my most loyal readers through the platform

    - be an active participator on G Plus Communities and Facebook Groups related to your niche

    - create a navigable blog; if people can get around easily and browse your pages and posts seamlessly, you will see more blog traffic

    - promote other bloggers in your niche through social media and by featuring them on your blog; doing so helps you make friends, and those friends will promote you, boosting your blog traffic

    Happy Blogging

Just checked your blog and I want to suggest you few things to succeed.

    (1) Do proper keyword research and put your main keyword in title, first paragraph, H1 tag, H2 tag, bold Italics (Or rather read some articles about ON PAGE SEO)

    (2) Your articles are very short like facebook post or something else. Try to write in depth articles. Your articles must be 1000 to 2000 words each with proper keyword density

    (3) No blog receives traffic by just posting content. Nobody notices your content because it's beyond the 10th page of google.

We need to do promotion and backlinking to bring it to the front page of google and for that, you need to SOCIAL MEDIA PROMOTION as well as OFF PAGE SEO.

for off page SEO you can start with blog commenting and later you go more advance like guest post outreach and all.

For social media promotion keeps it posting to niche relevant group without spamming those boards.

I hope this will help you a bit.

    Regards,
    Chris

    Hi Rahul
I visit your blog and Blog needs some improvements.
    1. Proper On Page Optimization is needed
    - Title Tags are not properly Optimized
    - Description Tags are also not Optimized
-Headings Tags are also not available on your Site (Use them, definitely they will help)
-Keyword Research is Required and after Keyword Research Implement the Keywords wisely
    - Add more Pages to your Blog
-The articles you posted on your blog are too short and seems like you post a quote (Do proper research before posting the articles, and write at least 900 words or more)
-Your website sitemap has not seemed good (use xml sitemap by using Yoast SEO Plugin) and there is no need to reference sitemap in robots.txt file)
-Why you write allow: / in your robots.txt file, no need to do this
-Your blog doesn't have the website tracking code
    - Enable SSL
    - Use Internal Linking Strategies

Fix the above-mentioned points and then go further for the promotion
    - Create Social Media Pages to your Blog and link them by using Social Icons in your blog
    - As I said above write long length articles
-Join Forums related to your niche
    -Do Q/A on Quora
-Blog Commenting (I don't recommend it)
-Submit Articles on Article site's or Do Content Marketing for Backlinks
    Thank you

3 main ways to get traffic

    2. Partnership - cross promote with similar size websites
    3. free/organic - seo, social etc

the most important thing about traffic is that you are providing value to the people you want to reach

Do you have a squeeze page and collect emails?

It's ESSENTIAL for customer retention. Even blog has a customer retention to take in consideration.

Than it depends on your budget: start with facebook advertising with your niche.

    Hey Rahul:

In addition to above, if you aim to do SEO/SMO, try to follow Diversified Links Strategy:

Unique Descriptions for Bookmark and Tier 2 Submissions
    Unique Blogs Writing and Submissions
    Edu Links
    Tier 2 Submissions
    Profile Links
    8-10 Types of LSI Keywords
    High DA Blogs Submissions
Tier 2 Submissions of High DA Blogs
Social Media Submissions of High DA Blogs

    SEO Implementation Strategy:
    15% Main Keywords
40-45% LSI (8-10 Types of LSI)
    Rest - Naked URLs/Branded Names

Hope that works for your blog and attracts lots of traffic.

    Good luck.
