Dip Mold Marketing Strategy

Hi everyone,

Landed a freelance gig for a small business in town that makes dip molded products. Right now, the business is focused on selling to distributors, rather than everyday customers. But, we are looking to expand to more markets.

Revamping the entire site, GoDaddy or Wordpress? We will be looking to sell products online. How else can I create traffic to the site? A little tricky here...

Thanks everyone.

How did you land the gig and not already know the answer to these basic question?

It's called the "get their money and figure it out later" technique lol

I landed the gig through a work connection.

So you bring nothing to the table?

I don't get it, why would they hire you?

As of now, nothing in terms of marketing has been done. I am revamping his website as we look to start selling product online.

The responses seem a bit short-sided. We don't know what type of freelance work he was hired for. It could be for product design, or accounting.

As to the posters questions, these are questions that will be difficult to answer on an internet forum. Is there any room in your budget to bring in a website consultant or developer?

If so, there are many on this board that can jump and help, probably even the other posters in this thread. (I actually have no idea, as I'm new to this board).
If you do not, then it is going to be slow going heartache, but at the other end you'll know so much more...so there's that

I do not know your product...a dip mold doesn't make much sense to me, so I can't even provide any basic ideas.

Feel free to post more details if you like.

I sincerely want to know why they would hire OP.

How do you sell a client with no plan? Didn't they client ask questions?

Dip molding is the process of dipping a mold into a polymer to create a molded component. Plastisol is a suspension of PVC particles in a plasticizer. This is the most commonly used dip molding material because it is easy to process and affordable. https://www.moldeddevices.com/dip-molding-coating/

GD is a web host. Wordpress is content management software. You can use WP on GD. From the tiny bit of ambiguous information, you supplied, it's impossible to do anything but guess.

If you are selling individual physical products to consumers you might consider something like Shopify.

How else can I create traffic to the site?
No idea how so far, so how else is a mystery. We don't know your target market, your goals, or your experience. Sorry, Dude but I lost my Carnac hat.

    A little tricky here...
    Here also!

How do you sell a client with no plan? Didn't they client ask questions?
For all we know OP could be dip molding shit in his basement and wants us to believe something different. How many threads start; my sister, my friend, my gruncle Fred has this or that issue? It's a cover.

Better than get their money and run.

Andrew Chirico, if you seriously want some help, then take the time to post as many details as possible.

Hi Brent. Yes, the client asked questions. Right now, the main customer is through one single distributor, but we are looking to expand that to beyond distributors. Many products are used in machines in hospitals/doctors offices.

All of that would depend on who you will sell to and how.

I know of a company that has a site just to send people they found through a variety of ads choose color and size of pruduct.

On the other hand you have amazon.com, the site sells and lets you shop.

If you are going to do SEO, might as well get an SEO specialist to help with structure and on page optimization.

If I were them, I'd start with getting a marketer who's good at positioning to redefine them and who could figure out who would be a great client and the best ways to reach them.
