Traffic For Older YouTube Videos

Hi traffic experts,

I love this forum and I have been reading, and I don't think I have seen this particular topic discussed.

I have a YouTube channel that is 10+ years with 500+ videos and very little traffic. I really never focused on building a community, or encouraging traffic. I just keep sharing videos, usually about business development topics such as email marketing, contact marketing, sales messaging, and similar topics.

HOW CAN I DRIVE TRAFFIC TO OLDER VIDEOS? I understand the ideas of building a community, and eye catching thumbs and great titles. What can I do with the high volume of videos that are already there? Even if each videos could get 1 or 2 views a day that would be HUGE because there are so many.

So, I need a tool, or strategy that can work on a volume of historical videos. I really cannot dig deep on each one, that would take a year+

What say the experts?

    they do, but not all of them and not all of the time. One of the goals of this page is to explain which meta tags help you to get the word out and which have become passé. (See Know Your Meta Tags below).

    If you want to find out whether a given page is using meta tags, just right-click anywhere on the page and select "View Page Source."

    A new tab will open in Chrome (in Firefox, it'll be a pop-up window). The part at the top, or "head" of the page, is where the meta tags could be.

    did u try downloading Socialblade extension ok google Chrome, it shows you the tags that are in any video
    for example u're following a business channel and when they post a new video u check it out and the socialblade will show u the tags that s/he used and u can copy them and paste them in your next video's tags so that u can get more traffic and your video will be shown in youtube timeline

    Thanks. Good tips. Part of the issue is volume. There are 500 videos and the optimization analysis might take 3-6 months. So, if I optimize a video, and it works it will take 6 months to know. Then, how can I do the other 499? There is a scaling problem.

    I don't think it is so different then new YouTube videos I suggest you to go to Google AdWords and buy traffic it is cheap and affordable

    I would do product reviews. These videos are easy to rank, and from that traffic your other videos could get more traffic. You could see if your Videos need some more Video SEO to get ranked. But the product reviews will always help with traffic. You could do some launch jacking, not the launch jacking stuff, that rates every product a 10 outa 10, but honest reviews. People will love you for it.

    Do those 500 contain value that's still applicable to the time we are in now?

    Can they still help people?

    If not...then start creating new videos!

    Yes, the content is evergreen, and still relevant. The content is not outdated, the videos are just older. I see people posting the same topics presently and they get a lot of traffic. I can review their success in the use of titles, thumbs and tags, but I don't know how to implement the results of that review.

    I am constantly creating new videos - I posted three this week.

    I was in the same boat a few months back. For me, promoting old videos thru my guest posts was a difference maker. Also, sharing through various bookmarking and social sharing sites gave me a nice boost. Creating new videos helped me immensely too. Some viewers scroll back through old videos to see what I have to offer.

    I went from hardly any minutes viewed on my videos to getting over 30 hours of views on my videos last month. Onward and upward

      Ok, thanks. Can you explain a bit more? My videos are on digital marketing strategy. I am not sure that these would be hot topic areas for bookmarking sites, but admittedly I have not tried that. In regards to the guest blogging, do you use a service? Most of the time when I am asked to guest blog, the blogs really do not get much traffic. How do you determine if there is a good match and the blogging is your time and effort?
