How do you stand out as a marketer when you're competing against the gurus? Will people buy from you if you're not well known?

      I definitely don't think you need to fake it til you make it.

      I think to get off on the right foot you need to be totally honest and transparent.
      That will earn Trust with people.

      Then I would just be YOU !

      Let your personality stand out. Accentuate parts of it that will connect with your audience.

      If you have some humor in you, then when writing emails or doing videos to your audience be humorous.
      If you are a little cynical and to the point, then be a little cynical and to the point when communicating to them.

      The main thing you are doing is letting them know you are an actual human being and not just some robot or crazy person trying to spam them.

      Once they begin to know you and trust you then hopefully they start to like you and eventually will even take your recommendations and buy stuff from you.

      Pretty neat how that works, huh ?

    Spend little to market your services or to promote in your target market
    Do some email campaign
    Try your luck with Newsletter Marketing
    Post some relevant information on forums and / or reply to people who are in need of your services.

    When you have the solution to a problem that your prospective clients are willing to pay for, then it really doesn't matter whether you are well known in that niche or unknown. You will still make the sale if your solution to your client's problem is solved quickly and effectively using you products and/or services.

    If your online business is purpose driven to help your ideal client to solve their problems, then you will always make money online even when you are unknown.

      This is a fabulous point that so few marketers get into their skull LOL.

      All gurus now were once nobodies from nowhere. Hardly a guru, but I am kinda well known in blogging circles - like, 3-4 people know of me - and OK.....I have been featured on Virgin, Entrepreneur and Forbes and Fox News, and I was a freaking security guard 10 years ago who had no idea what a blog was. I was fired from my security guard job. Yeah; folks bought from a fired security officer who had some clarity and courage to look like an idiot, to put himself on the line and to be bold when people had no clue in Hades who I was.

      Any established blogger or marketer was once very much an unknown, a "nobody".

    Hi Writer98,

    People buy from you because they see the value in what you offer.

    Period.

    End of story.

    As long as you can clearly express that value in a marketing message, and get your message widely distributed, you can compete successfully against any well known competitor. That is most likely how your better known competitors became so well known.

    It pays to advertise.

    You stand out by being different!

    That doesn't mean you ignore the tried and proven marketing techniques of successful business owners. It merely suggests that you not follow the crowd - that you put your own "voice" and personality into everything you do.



    You are the business so it's up to you to find your sweet spot and figure out what resonates with your audience. Others can copy most aspects of your business but they can't copy what you are, what you say, how you present yourself and your offers - so capitalize on that!

    It's just easier if you're a known quantity. Sure, the $7 funnel foundations or useful software products don't need to come from a marketing guru. Even so, a lot of product creators have their names and pictures on the bottom of their landing page and some hire well-known promo guys to introduce their wares and that can add to the trust factor as well.

    If you know the names of some of the gurus (and they are often mentioned on the forum) your more likely to purchase their product rather than from an unknown. This is particularly true for high ticket coaching programs and you'll probably want more confidence in the coach then just seeing their ads plastered all over Facebook.

    Bottom line, being a known 'expert' in your field adds value and gives you a leg up.

    It's ALL about BRANDING and FOCUS.

    Gurus or not gurus...

    ..you can be the FIRST in your customers mind if you solve ONE PROBLEM they have.

    People wants solution, not fancy gurus. Gurus are gurus cause they solve - or look like as it do - a problem.

    So focus on a niche where there is a problem, for a specific audience and solve it.

    Build a List of prospect who feel that problem as urgent and propose them a solution.

    Nurture them, treat them like your children or your brothers, and sell them that solution.

    Write from your true, authentic, center, aka your heart. This is one way to stand out.

    Do not label a guru, a guru. We are human. Oops I mean, they are human No seriously though, we all bring something special to the table, that like-minded people want.

    Release your fear of competition. Co-create with pros, versus fearing loss to them.

    Practice your core actions until you become super skilled. Like a guru.

    Toss salt over your shoulder 3 times daily.

    You can't compete with gurus so don't even bother trying...instead just find your groove...aka marketing strategy...hone it! ...and keep giving value!

    Also make sure to inject your personality into your marketing!

    Most people don't do this.

    And that is why so many people keep worrying about competition...because they keep pretending to be what they believe people are looking for.

    Then nobody stands out.

    Be your true authentic self while giving consistent value and you won't be worrying about stupid stuff.

    I have no idea why this is a trend on Warrior Forum.

    • If you don't have the exact same traffic, you're not competing with anyone.
    • Traffic will never find every single seller on the web, including so called "gurus".
    • No niche has one seller.


    Stop scaring yourself and just do something.
