Landing Page As A New Domain? Is Facebook Ok With This For An Ad Campaign?

Hello,
I'm an artist and designer, I have a product I want to make (its a bit like a graphic novel so people will see some new development each week). I then want to run a Facebook/Twitter campaign. Aim = to get more newsletter subscribers who are really interested in the product I am making.

And then when the product is complete in 6 months, they will be directed to a new landing page with a buy option.

If you guys can help me out with any advice I'm thinking -

1. Buy a landing page word press plugin so I can set up a landing page to concisely describe my product to grow subscriber list. Then use Facebook ads to direct to that.
At the same time buy a domain name for my product and redirect that to the landing page too.

2. Buy a new domain hosting package with domain name, and just make a landing style page focusing on the product. The landing page will have one link to my original art site.
This option I obviously don't need one of those landing page plugins such as leadpages etc, and this could work out cheaper.
I heard facebook might not like this as they see this as spammy???!??!

Either way, the landing page will only have one or two links to my existing web page, as the links are relevant.

If anyone can let me know I really appreciate it.

Thanks,
James Abell.

Whenever someone says "I heard this ... or I heard that" (especially from something that was said online) I have to wonder why anyone would believe what was said without checking things out for themselves.

My advice is to go to the source and ask Facebook what they think of your plan. No one here on this public forum can give you more accurate advice than the source.

    Good luck with your project.

Thanks, always a good idea to go to the source!
I heard it on a "reputable" podcast. Agreed, some things have to be taken at face value. Just got to form some sort of idea and background research prior to giving Facebook any money at all.

I believe facebook is more concerned with not allowing affiliate links instead of landing pages that are your own domain. However, just like James Abell mentions, go to the source(facebook) and put a support ticket in and see what they have to say

You have to make something like "Ghetto test": make a fb campaign for the product you're gonna to build, optin pagr and then redirect to a page where you dispay that the user will be advised when the product will be ready.

So....use Leadpages, if u cannot afford 37 usd x month and a domain which u redirect to the opt in page, u re not serious about your business.

Build your opt in page like this: offer a discount for pre-sale subscribers and WRITE A GOOD COPY for it in fb ads.

Make a promoted post where you describe the product and offer a early discount.

So...u can REALLY test if the product works or not.

      Thanks Connann,
I do like leadpages. Can you tell me what ways it is better than its rivals?
I guess the templates are really well designed to get the best results as well as A/B testing. At the moment, I want to make one landing page, however it will be extensive, not just a simple page. This way, I'm sure Facebook will see it as a valued link. Any input would be great, thank you.

In the past when I have tried to just collect emails with Facebook ads by sending to a simple landing page only with an email opt-in I've had problems with Facebook. I had to buildout the landing page more before they would approve the ads. I'm not sure if this is the case with everyone but that's what I have run into before.

      Hi Chris,
my idea is to make it an extensive page as I want to give a good experience to all those visiting it with information about what I am doing and images.
I guess Facebook will like that more than an old school simple landing page.

Thanks for the input everyone. I want to buy a domain name for my landing page but direct it to my old site (once it takes off I will make a new site with it on). Again, i'm interested in knowing if Facebook is "ok " with this. I have contacted them but they haven't got back yet.
