Amazon stopped carrying my affiliate product. Any suggestions?

Hey guys, I have an affiliate site in which I have 6 well researched products. Since my site went live amazon has stopped selling 2 of the products on their platform. I am wondering whether or not they will likely start selling this product again in the future. Anyone have any experience with this? I don't necessarily want to scrap my reviews of the product as they are well researched and very indepth. Should I just scrap the reviews, however, and cut my losses? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Warriors.

    What did amazon say when you asked them if they would be carrying the product again?

    When you searched for the product on google did you find it elsewhere?

    When you did your research did you find any similar products so all you would have to do is change the review to match the new product?

      Hey Al, thanks for the reply.
      1) I have not reached out to amazon to ask them about why they stopped listing the product but you're right that is probably the most logical first step. I will do that.

      2) The original manufacturer of the products still have them listed. I suppose I could ask if they have an affiliate program that I could enlist in.

      3) There are similar products on amazon but unfortunately the reviews are very specific the the particular model so substituting the product is not an option.

    Are your reviews getting search traffic? If so, remove the affiliate links and use them to bring traffic to your site. While you won't get paid directly, people and SEs will appreciate a no-incentive review.

    I'm currently having some product specific articles written that will contain no commercial intent. I'm not trying to sell the products but I suspect a clean "review" will bring people to the site. Some are bound to click ads or buy my products.

      Hey Brent, thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, my reviews are just found on my site and my site has yet to generate a lot of traffic. I am averaging 12 or so unique visitors a day. Still lots of work to do.

    You missed the point Brent was making...
    Do you expect that your site will somehow generate more traffic if you remove 1/3 of your content?

    How does scrapping the 2 reviews cut your losses? It doesn't!
    There is NO additional cost related to just keeping those 2 review articles.

    I have no idea if the merchant is selling the product elsewhere, but a lot of physical products on Amazon are also available from Wal-mart... and they also have an affiliate program.

    Just another reason why Branding your products is a better option than just being an affiliate of a certain product or drop shipping. If this product was your own product (not yours but had your particular branding to it) you wouldnt be suffering this loss. Your brand, your logo, your twist so to speak, the product would still be available and be selling at a much higher profit. JMO

    Contact the vendor and the amazon affiliate department, so you can have a final decision, and think of substituting the product even if you say you can't, cause it could be the only option.
