Straight Sale or Free Trial?

What would you say has better conversion in your experience? Straight Sale or Trial?
Im just getting started selling CBD capsules via SS...

    Some people sell suppliments. I've only seen large companies sell free trials to be honest. Don't think its a good idea. IMHO

    For for FREE Samples first before you start selling.

    People would like to try your CBD capsules first before they spend money for a product.

    You take any new company in the market. They offer free samples in Shopping Malls or Shopping Centers to their prospects, they try to make them habitual for their new product and after some time they start selling.

    I've promoted a lot of weight loss supplements and Free Trials + S/H is all I do because they convert much higher!

    What does your product sell for and what is your cost?

    Can you charge a reasonable S/H and have it cover shipping and product cost?

      The cost is 8.50 for one bottle (60 caps, 30 day supply).


      I don't have $150K to pay affiliates to drive traffic on the free trial model... I can definitely handle straight sale financially however. Id like to profit about $50k, thats my goal.


      I know the free trial guys do extraordinarily well financially, but they have the money to drive traffic to get the volume required to profit $2mm annually... or so.


      Do you think my goal of $50k profit is unreasonable? I had a friend who does free trials tell me "you don't make any money with straight sale", however this is coming from a guy who profits $2mm a year, so $50k to him probably sounds like a waste of time.

    I have never been a fan of free trials. I feel like they attract freebie seekers. That being said, you might want to test it for a 90-day period of time, and see what the conversions, cancellations and returns are like. It will definitely vary by niche, offer and product.

    the reason I did a thanks on chucks post is because people love free shipping. i don't know what you are selling and the "NEED" for it. Need and Desire to buy is pretty critical you need to know if a LOT Of people are buying this. Have you done your research for this? I hate that part but it needs to be done.

    But when they see free shipping they usually will not hesitate to buy as long as they ARE buying in the first place..

    Trial offers sometimes seem to be dodgy.... So you should be very clear and concise in your selling options....what you are selling or offering trial....

      I'm more of a straight sale guy myself.

      Just about every person in the world buys something before they try it. You can't go into any store in America I know of and sample it before you buy it. You buy it, bring it home, use it, and if you don't like it, return it.

      The only exception might be free food samples at a grocery store or test driving a new car. But think how weird it would be to tell the clerk at Wal-mart that you want to sample the stapler and try it out for a couple weeks before you buy it. I think that's a bit crazy.

      This is why I will always go for the straight sale myself.

    From my experience, I have observed that it largely depends on the product you're selling. In your case, it looks like a good option would be starting off providing samples. People would want to try out a new product before fully investing.

    It would depend on what stage they're at in the customer journey but if they're in the initial stages - a free trial or low ticket offer would work best.

    Because if the customer doesn't know you yet, it's unlikely that they'll feel comfortable paying for a full priced product straight away.

    In my sales funnel, I have a $3.00 offer that I promote to my fresh leads for this exact reason.

    And later on in the sales funnel, I pitch a higher priced product because the relationship is more developed.
