Drop shipping/print on demand - Niche or micro-niche ?

This question is for those of you who are building a drop shipping or print on demand business and are monetizing through your facebook fan pages.

When you create the fan page do you target a niche or a micro-niche?

Any pointers is greatly appreciated!

I'd say it kind of depends on the individual product.

For example, the other day I saw a unique travel water bowl for dogs. You screwed a regular bottle of water to the dish, turned it upside down, and let the dog drink. If it didn't finish the bottle, you could tip the bowl and the water would go back in the bottle.

Such a product could easily be marketed to "dog owners".

On the other hand, a "I Love My [breed]" tee shirt kind of lends itself to niching down to [breed] owners.

If you decided to stay 'niche' on FB, you could always introduce a micro-niche product by calling out the micro-niche.

"Hey, pit bull peeps, I found something you might like..."

'Purse dog' people would know to skip ahead, and pit bull people would know you were talking to them.

I have a page for an ecom print-on-demand selling Tees and hoodies. I branded it with my company name, so later when I add to and diversify my product line it will be under the company umbrella.

I want people to know and remember my brand, not a specific product or line.

Exactly what I do. Hey, all you bikers, veterans, grandparents, etc.

I know big artists that sells t-shirts with their own brand.

As for me, I like to target specific niche that already exists. Not come up with my own brand.

Go micro niche if it is big enough. I.e. go for "Pitbull lovers" if that group of people is big enough.
