This is the Warrior Forum and you are a Warrior

I think It's time for me to announce to the world (to you guys) that I'm the new Head of the Warrior Forum

I became a warrior a long time ago.

I was lost. Broke... I had no idea how to build an online biz... and well, this forum gave me energy, wisdom, strategies, opportunities and connections to change my life 8 years ago.

I read a lot of posts
Wrote 570 posts (not as many as so many of you)
I followed the WRONG advice in many cases
I believed many stupid theories
and I ignored many awesome ideas also...

I also...

Launched WSOs
I made money....
I bought many great WSOs trying to learn even more...
and oh boy I bought at the same time many crappy WSOs ...

I learned thanks to the Warrior Forum that the Internet Marketing world was a Jungle
the Warrior Forum showed me the ropes.
Made me who I am

8 years later (or so) here I am.... older , with 3 kids... and a lot more experience.

This is the Warrior Forum

There is only 1 Warrior Forum and this is it

You are going to find in this Forum

Newbies
Experts
Offline Experts
Affiliate Ninjas
WSO experts
Epic Freelancers
Amazing Writers
CPA Gurus
Coders
Trolls
Awesome Entrepreneurs
New members
Old Warriors
Offline marketers
Web Designers

But overall humans. Good people .

Yes. I'm a bloody optimist .... and I'm a hardcore believer in the power of this community.

The Warrior Forum exists thanks to you.
The ones that post
The ones that want to learn
the kind warrior that want to help
the mentor, the Sensei... and even you.. the little spammer that is just here to post a link even if we delete your account tomorrow

but regardless,

this Forum is powered by Humans. By People!

Humans that are here trying to learn, expand, growth, connect.

We all want to improve and the Warrior Forum helps that process.

Sometimes the process is not clear and like in High School... sometimes the experience of learning can be a bit ... traumatic . lol

But overall I truly believe The Warrior Forum has a huge amount of value to provide to anyone that is willing to learn.

So why am I posting this?

Because my Philosophy is one: 100% transparency.
and I need you help...

I need your patience
your suggestions
your help flagging spam
your help providing content
your help inviting new members
your help having fun
your help supporting the silly newbie with a pretty obvious question
and your help being patient if you believe I'm not doing my job.

YES: Make me accountable ... and if you do so, do it with the respect any Warrior Deserves.

You can contact me any time.
I want to learn from you and I want to understand how the team can help you.

The Warrior Forum exists with the help of an awesome group of people that in many cases they don't get thanks they deserve
.... community mods helping for FREE...
...engineers trying to debug impossible codes....
... and awesome people like Marcus Wang and Paolo... spend hours and hours working their ass off, trying to make the Warrior experience as good as possible.

NOW...

The Warrior Forum has a lot to improve.
We are aware of the mistakes from the past
but I believe that the best way to improve is by moving ahead... and with your help, I'm 100% sure we can do it.

We will get better.
We are getting better.

Thx for reading I'm super excited to be here.

We've had new leadership come and go over the past couple years. I've spent a little bit of time speaking with Gab. I can honestly say I trust him to do what he says.

I look forward to watching you build a better Warrior Forum, Gab. Good luck.

Warrior Forum is a great place already (IMO) ... However I will do my best (including adding what I hope are valuable/useful posts) in making it and even greater Forum.

    Cheers.

I think one of the things that would help this forum immensely, and at the same time make your job a whole lot easier, is to better inform current and new members what we're here for (shared vision) and what actions will not be tolerated.

Yes, there are rules laid out already (some are vague and a little hazy) but my sense is, very few new members voluntarily read the rules or understand what should and shouldn't be done in posting and creating threads.

Set clear expectations. Leave no doubt about violations that won't be tolerated. Then hold everyone's feet to the fire. Be fair and understanding with minor goofs, but be quick to act on obvious abuses of the policies and rules.

I realize this is a tall order and you can't do it effectively by yourself.

Running a public forum is like herding cats . . . Gabe, you are to be commended for your bravery and courage to take on such an ambitious commitment. I personally believe that the success of any forum is largely due to the members that engage with each other and are willing to share.

Warrior members will help - we have your back - we want this forum to be the best source of IM expertise and help there is online. But I fear many "infrequent" members and lots of brand new members, don't share the vision of what the WF is all about and don't care to read the rules.

Personal promotion and agendas need to be better confined to the paid sections of the forum (with the sig file exception). Just my opinion, of course.

Circumstances don't allow me to contribute as much as I did in the past but - I'm in! I will do my small part. I know there are many, many others that will do the same as they see things improve. I would love to see WF return to the glory days - or better yet - start a new era of glory days.

I am glad that we have leadership with experience using this platform.

Having read your comments about "lean solutions", I think I speak on behalf of many when I say that I would like to see thought-out and well considered innovation and progress driven by community feedback as opposed to "quick wins".

There's no place like this and I hope that you appreciate the uniqueness of this platform, its intricacies, potential and quirks and how to address the difficulties some of us have pleaded with management to consider. I don't think these have been understood or given the time of day previously (see suggestion forum), which has led to ambivalence towards leadership.

With due respect, we have heard these lines before, so my thoughts are to let's see what changes for the better.

Fair point mate. There are also 1.3 million users so right now... and some of the suggestions are great, some of them are insane and some of them are difficult to establish.

      You are in Australia right?
Well think that I am the Prime Minister and people start asking things like

      1) Can we please make Adelaide the Capital?
      2) Can you please guarantee no more flies or mosquitos in the Summer?
      3) hey!!!! Australia was great in 1974... can you please change the country NOW!!!!

      Somethings are not possible.

So for me, and my team, we want to achieve small wins.
I prefer small wins than no wins.

      Now, you are right:

The suggestion forum is a great tool.... yes.
What is not great is sarcasms ... people getting upset... ranting ... or tantrums... so when people go emotional, it's difficult to embrace those suggestions.

      But things will change

I'm 100% ready to make changes, to drive this forum to a new age and hopefully I will win your respect and support in the next months to come.

      Thx for the feedback mate

        Gabe,

Could it be that the Warrior Forum needs to better define it's target audience? Countless times in these WF threads we witness successful and profitable business owners hammering home the point that in online business it is critical to focus on a specific targeted like-minded audience, a defined niche with set boundaries and a focused singular mission. It's quite OK, they emphasize, in fact preferable, to not try to be all things to all people.

Should the WF be any different? Should it not have a "perfect" customer profile that it goes after for its members? Of course, I realize this is your show and you can program it as you like.

I'm just hoping you will consider that it's quite all right to not cater to every "make money online" tapped out and desperate person that is seeking the holy grail of ease, speed, wealth, and no work.

For me personally, I wish the WF was focused on Internet Marketing for serious entrepreneurs that are intent on setting up real businesses, not the "gotta have $50 bucks by Wednesday" crowd. This focus doesn't exclude newbies, people trying to decide if IM is right for them, or folks just wanting a supplemental income. It doesn't exclude business models, people's chosen IM strategies, or individual niches.

As I view the WF, it doesn't appear to me that there is any focused effort to draw in a targeted audience of any particular kind. If anything, it seems to me, outsiders are drawn here by the "pump and dump" WSOs, unrealistic earnings BS, and often bad advice that paints this business as push-button easy.

I care about the WF or I wouldn't spend so much time here.

Yes it's a challenge mate and that's what we are trying to do...
I think my approach is to make the audience (you guys) more part of the process...

As you can see all our content in LEARN explains what are trying to do... bring better content, more startup info, more growth hacking... etc...

And I'm also working on the issues with WSO.
It has been 2 weeks.... so give me time.

Shouldn't this be a sticky? Well, you did ask for suggestions.

Also, I noticed you left 'grifters' off of your list as to who and what we are. To not acknowledge that there are bad apples among us that would take financial advantage of people at the drop of a hat, while a 'positive' sentiment, it's not a totally honest one and doesn't engender a sense of awareness of what reality shows us to be true.

No problem being your first official ban. :-)

    Thank you.

Oh, and congratulations and best of luck to you.

Too bad you weren't around when Big Frank got banned. He may have been a butt-wipe on occasion, but he never told a lie, could spot BS a mile away and had more common-sense than most people. Tragically, he was banned for expressing his opinion and always pointing-out the the absolute worst worst in people. A dirty job, yes - but someone had to do it.

What is your suggestion or idea regarding grifters mate?
Honestly Gabriel, I'm not arrogant or pompous enough to believe that I have an answer to the problem. It does seem to be a concern that I hear voiced more than occasionally and I'm sure there are many here that can provide workable solutions.

I have spent countless Saturday mornings reporting spam posts, self-promotion posts and just plain idiotic questions which the former owners claimed they wanted to discourage. My job is over once I report a problem. After that, it's all yours, my friend, to deal with in a way which you deem appropriate - with nary a complaint from me on how you choose to run your forum.

I have always maintained the position that if someone doesn't like the way owners or management run this or any other forum, they should STFU, cancel their account and start their own forum. It's your sandbox and I'm happy to be able to play in. It appears that you have already started making positive changes, so kudos to you for that. Just remember that you can't do it all by yourself and ultimately, what destroys any forum is trusting unqualified, insecure, unyielding, power-hungry adolescent individuals as moderators to mold the forum in your image. Without constant supervision they become toxic. They need to reflect your vision - not what they want to think your vision is based upon 'how they would do things' if this was their forum.

Lastly, I do have a few thoughts on how you cease the exodus of good people, many of whom have drifted away.

        1. Take all of the most common questions that are constantly asked and put the answers up as stickies.

        2. Make it mandatory that newbies learn to use the search function, in conjunction with the aforementioned stickies. Don't allow people who simply love to hear themselves talk, to answer those questions. You can have a contest to see who can be the first forum member to respond to any question like that with the following response; "That information can be found in our stickies, with more information provided in many threads that can be found by learning to use the search function. Please don't clog the forum with questions that have been asked and answered over a thousand times." lol

        3. Forbid questions like, "Which is the best email autoresponder (web hosting bulk email service, etc., etc.,etc.). No one can answer that question as there are so many variables that it defies logic that there could be a right or wrong answer without a deep dive into the poster's personal situation. In your stickies section you can have polls. Let all of the members vote for what they believe the best autoresponder is. That will at least give the questioner a starting point which they can work from. If there's way for them to comment as to why they think something is best, that could be good, if technically feasible although most of the reasons posted will be,"because it's free" or "because it's cheap." If you encourage a pauper mentality by your members, they will remain paupers, probably forever.

        4. No more, "What would you do if you had a billion $$$." Seriously? Outta here!

        5. No more, "I am new to IM. Please tell me how can I make $1000 a week, with no budget, no work and while you're at it, please tell me where I can get everything I need, completely free of charge. Oh, I forgot. Please be sure to include your secret sauce that you have spent years developing." Two words - bite me! I take that back. Three words. Bite me, loser!

        6. Enough with the, "If you believe it, you can achieve it" bullshit. People are encouraged to pursue avenues that they have no requisite skill for, understanding of, or budget to actuate any plan. The mantra is fine as self-confidence is a good thing. Telling people that there is 'no way you can fail' as long as you stay focused on your goal, resembles cruelty of the worst type. It's generally proffered by individuals that have never made a dime at IM and never will, regardless of how much they 'believe.' Are there exceptions? Of course there are. There are exceptions to everything in life, but, truth be told, 99% of folks that choose IM as a career will be gone in a year - two at best. I'm sorry, but 'blogging your way to riches' is a pipe dream for all but the few gifted and lucky individuals that may achieve anything even remotely resembling that status. These post are some of the most heartless type of posts, regardless of the poster's pure intent and belief in what they say. It's very sad. lol

Finally, charge $10 to join the forum which is refunded after 90 days. You will instantly negate the hordes of posers from joining which is what you should desire, depending on whether you are after quality or quantity. If your goal is simply to grow the membership and flip the forum for a quick profit, this idea, of course, makes absolutely no sense. if you want to grow your future by creating something that is world-renowned, that you take a tremendous amount of both personal and business pride in, my idea makes perfect sense. If someone is not willing to invest $10 for what you have to offer them, knowing it will be returned to them in 90 days, what value do think they are bringing to your forum and for what possible reason would you want them as a member???

Oh, I have plenty more, but I'm loathe to send you a PayPal invoice for my consultation fees. lol Start with those and you'll improve the forum 1000% percent and make it much more enjoyable for those that really need this place to be a viable and valuable source of relevant information to help them build their online ventures. No forum is perfect, but I'm sure you have a desire to make this one as good as it can be. I'm sure that everyone here wishes that for you - and, for themselves.

I'm an old man, officially retiring in 12 more days from just shy of 50 years of work. It matters not to me what happens here, but this isn't about me. It's about you and what YOU want out of life and what you want to offer your members.

I appreciate the opportunity to share my thoughts with you.

Please be advised. I generally get 10¢ per word and always get a 100% Copyscape rating.

        Thank you.

P.S. Are you ready to change your mind about banning people for voicing their opinions? There won't be any bad feelings on this end. If someone is going to dish it out, they need to accept any consequences, without complaint. I can take it. I'm already feeling liberated by my pending retirement :-)

I didn't look at the actual offers but if the elimination of claims in the titles is any indication, great job...

I just ran into this, a little late to the party.

I look forward to a great forum with all of us helping one and other to live our dreams.

We all share a commonality that runs deeper than any other IMHO, and that is we're different.

Or is it just me, and your friends and family don't think you're at least a 'little' different?

But, just like America, all of us coming together to help each other become more than we can alone, is what makes this forum, like our country great!

Ok, so the guy running the joint is an Aussie, but - you know what I mean. I used to have a home their myself, so, I can tell you they're good people, even if they are a few Kinnie's short of a dozen. Or maybe that was me being short after that Footy match.

The man speaks the truth. I'm a disabled former Marine having served in jungles and the like.

I've never seen so many hostile creatures in my life.

I looked out my window one morning and nature had reversed itself. there was a spider hanging there eating a snake. No joke.

Then, they got the coolest looking little beautiful blue octopus about the size of a silver dollar that if it bites you you could be a dead man.

Yeah, I still like the place though.

Oh yeah, and they got this highway down south that I was riding my bike on that goes along the water, that is the windiest thing I've ever ridden.
I don't recall the name of the road, so help me out there.

I'm going to go look it up.

            Ok, it's the A440 and the A1.
Holy crap, ride at your own risk. The wind is sick.

            Cool country though.

As a long time Deming fan, this gives me a case of the warm fuzzies.

Stacking up small wins leads to big ones.

If an American football team scores 21 points, no one really cares if it was three touchdowns or seven field goals (outside of fantasy leagues). It's still 21 points.

And sometimes a five yard completed pass turns into a ninety yard touchdown.

(Sorry for all the football talk, but I'm writing this on Sunday and kickoff is only an hour or so away. )

Years ago a friend spent several years in Australia as an engineer some big project and wrote fantastic letters about his experiences. Before that a man I worked with at a university (a glassblower working in the technical fields) emigrated permanently to Australia from the US and wrote to say how he loved it there.

I've read "A Sunburned Country" by Bill Bryson - I watched documentaries about Australia - watched videos over the Great Barrier Reef - love to watch "House Hunter International" about people looking for housing in Australia.....

But... due to the creepies and crawlies - some bigger than me - have no desire to set foot on the continent. I'm such a chicken.

Claire, Gab is running the WF on behalf of Freelancer (who still own it). What might have confused some people is Gab's post #10: https://www.warriorforum.com/main-in...l#post11210811 where he writes "now" instead of "not". Just a typo, I suspect.

Nevertheless, he seems to be doing a great job so far.

Between the few chats I have had with you, Gabriel, and the simple, yet courteous fact that you have replied to nearly all posts in here is a huge indication that things are looking up for this forum in a big way.

I'm excited to see what happens next and how much things do improve. Sadly, we did lose a lot of the senior members after the buyout, for various reasons, but am hoping that the current membership will work together to support Gabriel and his team in making this a better place for everyone.

Remember it must be really dark to see the stars...
No matter how dark it was in the past we can build together bright future.
I am glad to be part of that community especially during that special time.
If there is coming wind of changes then I would like as a new member be part of it. Let me think about impact I can give to Warriors and soon I will come with something nice.
Gabriel this is very inspirational and for sure I will be on place with this call to arm you announced.
