Invest more in what is working and stop investing in what is not working.

What is the breakdown of your current traffic?

Use the 80/20 rule and focus on the methods getting you the most traffic already and put more effort into that.

postcards, facebook ads, pinterest ads, newspaper ads, radio ads, solo ads...

Did you notice the recurring word, ads?

Write a book. Write articles. Write press releases.

By the way, you did not say what the site is about, so it's not possible to give you exact-match advice.

You might want to read a book called

Business Sales Strategy | Business Sales Success | Sales Strategies :: Chet Holmes International

    or one called

    https://www.barnesandnoble.com/p/ult...lickid=3x24214.

By the way, how is the traffic you have converting? Maybe you should also read up on conversions. www.kissmetrics.com is a place you can do yourself some good in that area.

Dan Kennedy's Ultimate Sales Letter can help you too, albeit indirectly.

What is your average lifetime customer value and sales conversion rate? Having these numbers will help you determine how much you're willing to spend to acquire a new customer, then we can do paid Adwords campaign.

I am curious to know what the results are from the campaigns you are currently running. Which ones are the most profitable? If you were spending any money on these campaigns, I suggest you drop the lowest performing ads and put that money towards the ads that are giving you better results. This will give you a greater reach so you will get more signups.

If you can spend a little money go to freelancing sites and ask some professionals to bring traffic on your sites. There are multiple professionals who can help you get traffic spikes on your website in pretty cheap manner. Try Fiverr, freelancer, upwork etc for that purpose.

Have you experienced PPC or Pay Per Click? Understanding how to create individual adgroups in your campaigns based around a keyword phrase and then writing your ad accordingly for the lowest cost per click.

Banner advertising works very well. Do the research on the site you are thinking about placing your banner on making sure your demographics line up and then maybe create a custom banner tailored to that traffic.

With banner just like anything else I suppose you need to find your rythem. You might need to go through a couple of times to find your results.

You can see a spike by adding a giveaway page to the site temporarily or keep it for ongoing. Then maybe use "RaffleCopter" and set up the giveaway to grab the code for your site. Put in actions that expose them to what you do.

They may not be interested in your business but it will spike traffic to your site. Have them comment on an article there as one of the actions they must do to get the points. You would want to promote the giveaway on the top 5 or 10 sweepstakes sites. Do a search for that. Plus the many other ways to promote.

This will cause interaction at your site. Be creative at Rafflecopter with the actions entrants must do. Some mandatory, some high points, some low.

Just saying, this may not work for your business, but I need people myself over at eComRuler.com to just be commenting and stuff, I don't care if they actually join here in the beginning, just want their comments and thoughts.

It gives me something to build on. So the giveaway may be fickle people but I won't approve anything that is not relevant and sincere to the subject of my site.

You could do some sort of collaboration with other people in your niche. If you have a blog or at least can write, you could do sponsored or guest posts to attract more visitors to your site.

I don't know what your niche/business is, but I keep hearing everyone rave about how great Pinterest is for driving traffic to their sites. Maybe look into that a little more and see if it's something that's doable for your site.

If you're not doing it already, paid advertising is the fastest and probably best way I can think of to get a spike of traffic to any web site. SEO, for example, is not typically a quick traffic method. Hand-in-hand with traffic, you need to maximize conversions (as others have said) or your newly won traffic will not pay for itself.

    Good luck,

SEO can be quick-ish with a sound method and when you know the ins and outs of what you need to do. SEO has always been my preferred traffic method.

I think hone in one just one traffic channel that is working slightly better than the others. Spreading yourself across all channels can work against you and usually leads to average results across them all, rather than good results with one.

I know it feels like you need to be doing everything, especially when you really want something to work, but in my experience it's better to have concise focus.

You can Setup Paid Campaigns for Adwords and Facebook. Where you can target, according to your requirements. Considering the target audience, location, interests, demographics etc.
In Adwords, you can track your traffic. And optimize campaign, according to your need considering the amount of spent.

You have to post useful information on social media site or sites that your audience hangs out. Also make sure that your website is fully optimized. For example. Reducing page load time and having a responsive web design all helps .

Do paid advertising. Advertise on Adwords and Bing, Facebook, blogs, forums, do joint ventures with non-competitive people in your niche, start an affiliate program, and even contact individual list owners in your niche to see if they would like to do a solo ad deal with you.
