Fellow Warriors What is the correct way to promote a MMO Product?

I am a newbie in affiliate marketing, and been promoting MMO productsfor about 7 months but I have had no sales at all. I finally figured out how to make landing pages and build my list. I am really not sure what I am doing wrong. I would like some advice from my fellow warriors.

Thank you all

You kind of have to give us a little to go on. What are you doing now. What strategies are you using, do you have a website, squeeze page, autoresponder. Tell us a lot more

I do have a website its for promoting amazon products and ebay products on wordpress using woo commerce. Its like a mini womens store.Usually when I post a product on wordpress it post it to my social media sites automatically. It post them to the store pages I created for my store on facebook , twitter, tumblr, pinterest. Thats where my post go. I get some sales from that, but very little.

But with promoting clickbank , jv zoo, warrior plus products I get zero sales.
The landing pages I made have been to promote clickbank products or jv zoo products. On click bank I choose products that have a 50 and up gravity on them. I am promoting CB passive income right now, I sent it to my lists, i put it on free traffic exchangers. I havent promoted it in facebook groups yet or twitter.

The emailer I use is mail chimp.

As for strategies, I have been posting some products in facebook advertise your business groups and also written people on twitter that are looking to make money online. I have paying for unlimited traffic for life on certain sites some work some dont. I have been using traffic exchangers to get traffic.

      thank you for responding agmcall
Hope this helps everyone get an idea what I am doing.

Although you've been given plenty of food for thought in this thread, one other consideration is your choice of Mailchimp. The company is less than affiliate-friendly, and specifically bans MMO offers in its acceptable use policy:

Yeah I have heard that before. I was using benchmark email as well. I think I might use that one again.

Right now I have to go with a free email service till I can get my business up and running smoothly.

Is there any free email services you recommend Frank?

I know finances might be tight at the moment, but honestly, I wouldn't recommend a free email service. Apart from the quality of the service, I'd be concerned about the process of later transferring my subscriber list to a different service without going through the hassle of getting them to opt in again.

For your intended purpose, I'd go with an established service like AWeber or GetResponse from the start. Much easier to scale, and last I heard, AWeber offer a free 30-day trial period.

In my opinion, and don't take this as negative, but the correct way to promote an MMO product is to first have made money using it.

For example, the results may be totally different if you are promoting CB Passive Income because people say it's good or because of its gravity compared to promoting it because you have made money with it, know the inner workings, etc.

You may want to try out what you are promoting. Try to make money with it first and then promote it IF it works.

That is how I would start. Then all the other strategies kind of fall into place because you've already made money so you know more about what you are doing.

Thank you Mark I appreciate your opinion. Its very true your saying because I really have no idea if the product is good or not. The youtube videos and reviews look good. But I dont know.

You know I did purchase commission gorilla thats what I use to make landing pages and bonus pages. That software works very good for me. I guess I might switch over to promoting that instead.

Great idea. I don't know anything about that software but if it's working for you and it's still for sale you can give it a shot.

        Things to consider:

Do an honest written or video review. But make it honest. Tell about the bugs, the support, everything.

Show how to make different kinds of pages. I'm not sure of the capabilities of the software but most of these type things can do all kinds of closely related pages such as squeeze pages, webinar signups, sales pages, etc.

Promote things that are closely related. For example, an autoresponder company. If you are using Mailchimp, change to a paid one if you can so you have a chance at affiliate commissions if nothing else. If that's not an option, think about what people need to use the software. For example, do they need to know how to write great headlines? Get a copy of something that teaches that and promote it. Do they need to know how to do a webinar if they are looking at your how to create a webinar signup pages? Get experience with a solution and promote it.

That may be a good start.

        Good luck.
        Mark

That's good in understanding its good to know how to build your own funnels or at least outsource it. First it is one of a kind and when you optimize it for the conversions it doesn't get saturated out because you don't have 10,000 other affiliates promoting the same page with the same traffic sources.

Find a product that you want to promote hopefully something already proven to convert and create yourself a free giveway wrapped around that paid product and have the paid version to give you some front end money. Of course all of that need to be built and optimized but once you figure that out you have full control.

Use analytics or some kind of tracking so you can see where things are coming from.

Here's a tip for you. A lot of the YT videos and reviews are created by other affiliates - many of whom are as clueless about the product as you are.

And trying to choose a product by using gravity is a fool's errand because it's so easily manipulated.

Sounds like a plan. Whether you write or make videos, having experience with the product will come through in your content. Unless you are a consummate actor or a total sociopath, people can tell when you're trying to baffle them with BS. And very few of us are that good at acting.

I didn't have success promoting MMO products, and it's probably because I was a beginner and wasn't using correct ways to promote them.

On the whole, I'd some success with Clickbank, but I'm still not a big fan of it. I'd more profits by selling my own short MMO related reports in a super-targeted niche.

I'm not in MMO niche now, and I'm not saying Clickbank won't work for you. But, recently, I'm having some success with Pinterest. I have seen many bloggers using Pinterest for promoting their MMO products.

I also love Pinterest because of its 'Viral' effect.

Once your pin goes viral, which is immensely possible, it opens the floodgates of traffic.

Good advice in here. I did non- mmo niches for 6 or 7 years before I even stepped foot in MMO.

I think some people in here try to start in it too fast.

Not saying that is the case with you, but I advise everyone to start out with Non- MMo niche.

Thank you Robert , I did just jump into it, I saw everyone else was making money, but I realized how difficult MMO niche was.

But I also jumped into making a online store website on wordpress around the same time and started promoting amazon products , I have had some success there.

I think I will keep promoting the products I have used that are good and beneficial for others. And leave the MMO niche alone for a while.

And try non related MMO niches. Thanks for your for Robert

Hope this helps everyone get an idea what I am doing.

So you have not figured out how to make money online yourself, but want to sell something to people telling them how to make money online? You don't see a credibility problem there at all?

That is your number one problem.

Second, I think you need to look at new ways to generate traffic. Facebook "advertise your business" groups are a complete waste of time. Want to know why? Because the only people who belong to them are people like you that just want to advertise their business. Nobody is hanging out in those groups that are actually looking to buy something.

Writing to people on Twitter is also a horrible waste of time. They don't know you.

The #1 reason why affiliates fail, in my opinion, is they never figure out how to get what they are offering in front of the eyeballs of people that are looking for it. You can build the greatest site in the world and be selling the greatest product, but it won't matter if nobody ever finds it.

Good point mike, Thank you for being real with me.

Yeah I tried twitter its not easy talking to people I dont know and it feels awkward too. Facebook groups I noticed what you said. Everyone is trying to sell something. Sometimes though there is good products.

I dont know I am not convinced by twitter. Facebook groups maybe but I havent had good results there. I did start posting products that actually have helped me , I bought and use in the groups. I started making reviews/how to use on youtube about the products I use.

Thanks for the feed back mike,
Where do you suggest I get traffic from because thats what I have been researching alot lately. Theres all kinds of products out there that supposedly help you in that area but as I look at them I dont know if I believe what they say anymore.

There is a big world outside of MMO and even selling products / services.

I mainly promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. This is because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher.

I favor offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them. This is what has worked best for me and tend to have the greatest mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience). So the potential to produce high volume exists and they are fairly easy to cross promote on the backend.

Some of the verticals(niches) I have done extremely well with are: insurance, education, credit, loans, debt, assistance, mortgage, discount offers, homeowner offers, etc...

In the end, you will almost always find that it's much easier to get someone to fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want / need and get paid well for doing it.

I started doing the above almost 17 years ago and I'm still doing it to this day because it works.

    Anyway, something to consider.

Thank you I will try that out as well. what companies or what websites can I go to do pay per lead. How do I what you do diabl0.

I think I might switch niches MMO is ok but there is alot of shady products out there and I am already tired of all the lies, shadiness and i just started affiliate marketing in march this year.

I realized people will say anything to sell something that doesnt work. I refuse to sell garbage and be like everyone else. I learned here in this forum to sell things I have used.

My goal is to make money online but I do want to sell things that help people in some way.

Your product is the least of your problems. Yes selling a highly converting product of value is important but this is not your issue.

Your issue is the marketing and promotion part of it.

Traffic Exchanges are almost useless since the people on them are in the same boat as you...lack of traffic ect.

On top of that, they are being forced to view ads for marketing credits. These kinds of people are not in a hurry to buy more products. They are in a hurry to get no where since they are also using the exchange for targeted traffic which it clearly isn't.

You would have more success with bot traffic lol. That was a bad joke. Bots are robots pretending to be people. Bots unfortunately don't own credit cards.

You also claimed that part of your strategy was posting your links in Facebook Groups that allow you to.

These types of groups are spam posting groups where people get in, post their links and get out just as fast (if not faster).

Most of these people are clueless about successful marketing and have tunnel vision.

These groups are a waste of time.

Then you said you paid for some life of sites advertising. First of all, any site that has lifetime advertising available most likely won't have great or much traffic.

If they did, then they would most likely want to charge you an arm, leg or even your right testicle.

The only thing that it seems that you did that actually produced some results were from sites like Pinterest.

So what ever you did there worked since you said you made little profit.

    Now here's the thing...

Obviously the things that may seem the most cumbersome like Pinterest obviously yield the fruit.

And the easy (useless) stuff like traffic exchanges don't.

The marketing methods that do work take a lot of work in order to get results.

And especially in the first 3 months of active marketing...will be the hardest.

Active marketing is when you have zeroed in on the (1) marketing method and implement the shit out of it for (3) full months (every day).

So your issue isn't really the product per say. It's you marketing method of choice along with your execution of it.

Hope you truly understand all that I just said.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11219185].message }}

Yeah Rory I understand you traffic exchanges , doesn't give me much results. Just people viewing my page thats about it.

Facebook groups has not worked for me at all, zero results. Facebook groups to me is like a I post, you post, everyone post like a posting contest of the same product sometimes. that doesnt work very well.

hahaha the paid lifetime traffic was a waste of money. The good part is that I learned my lesson, so I refuse to buy something like that again.

And traffic bots I actually have one and it just gave me fake traffic. At first I was like hey its making my stats go up but as I kept observing the software and my google analytics as well. I noticed that the stats skyrocketed but then I soon realized that the clicks where not coming from any where in the world. That's how I figured out it was fake traffic just to get me clicks.

So now I am heading into pinterest with all I got.

    Thanks again for the insight.
    Be blessed,
