Where to find a GOOD marketing expert to join us?

Hey guys,

Thought id ask the question on here to see what you guys think. We are looking to get someone to come on board with us who has a great proven background in marketing and can help get our business to the next level.

Do you guys have any suggestions on where would be a good place to try and find someone that would fit what we are looking for? We would be looking for someone to do it on a freelance basis so not join as an employee.

Also i'm fully aware of companies that will help out etc, but in my experience they are very expensive for what they do. Ideally we want to find someone who is driven and to the right person we could give them a % of the business so they benefit from the growth.

    I have been a member here for a long time and if I were in your shoes, I would look to the freelancing sites where marketers are offering their skills on a project by project basis.

    IMO, the vast majority of members here are not seasoned marketers. Most are here to learn about online marketing. Yes, there are some freelancers here that have experience, but posting in this main forum is probably not the best way to find them.

    I would recommend you go to the

    Warriors for Hire section of the forum and see what you can find.

    You might also want to take out an ad on the

    Wanted - Members Looking To Hire You section and see who responds to your query.

      I couldn't agree with you more Steve cause in the hire section you'l find potential partners that can help you grow your business ofcourse if you both come to a mutual understanding.

      The warrior forum as a whole is full of potentials you can also check product vendors in the WSO section too. All the best

    I think you need to better define what you want this person to do. "A freelancer" is meant to save money and have flexibility - I get that.

    However, in asking for a 'proven expert' you are moving into an area of 'consulting' and may need an independent contractor willing to accomplish "X" in exchange for payment of "Y".

    I disagree with Steve on one point - there are a lot of 'seasoned' marketers here though they may not post constantly. A marketer who is a proven expert may not be interested in working as a freelancer unless the fees are substantial. Working as a 'consultant' might be a different matter. If what you need is someone to act like a partner in building the business - without the perks/risks of being a partner - you want a consultant.

    If I were you I would place ads on leading freelance sites - clearly define the work you expect to be done or the results you hope for - and see what bids come in. Or - if the work you want done is in several categories - do as Steve suggested and hire multiple people for specific tasks.

      Yeah to be honest that sounds like what im after, more of a consultant than, as im fine doing the work myself, just need guidance and pointing in the right directions in what will help best etc.

    When people mention "freelance sites", most of them are thinking of sites like Freelancer and Upwork.

    For what you seem to need, I'd go outside those sites to places like SimplyHired, Indeed or FlexJobs.

    LinkedIn might get you some good leads.

    You should also probably clarify what you mean when you say "we could give them a % of the business" - are you talking royalties or equity? For the pro you want, that will make a difference.

      Thank John, thats a good shout actually. I always had issues with freelancer sites with people just not being no way near as good as they say.... suppose that could happen anywhere, just seems to be more on those sorts of sites etc.

    What's next level mean, you don't have any traffic?

    If this is the case (no traffic) why does someone need you (no offense)? What are you selling that the freelancer can't do on their own with the traffic they're generating?
