Would love some help on how to be a good affiliate money short at moment as I can't work due to personal reasons would be good to provide for my wife and kids properly

    You can be a good affiliate money but one thing you need to know first is:

    It's not gonna come quickly, it require practice, time. Can you be that patience?

    The relevant part of your question is "how to be a good affiliate". Needing money, have a difficult time in life - those are common to all of us at times.

    "Would love some help" - you're in the right place. Use the forum search to find what you need to know and start reading and learning. General questions yield general answers - of from people who don't know any more than you do.

    There are many, many resources here that you can tap into in order to learn about affiliate marketing.

    In addition, here is a link to a "super affiliate" that shares a lot of great ideas freely about her experience with this business model. She has done successful affiliate marketing for many years.

      There's a big world out there beyond Clickbank.

      Don't get fixated on visions of 50%-100% commissions, especially when you are first starting out. There's a good reason vendors pay that kind of commission - they have to in order to get effective affiliates to put in the time and money to make sales.

      As for having your own site, there are ways to get around that, but it's far from optimum. Unless you have your own patch of digital real estate, you're one rule change away from being wiped out.

      Your own domain will set you back a whopping $10 per year. Namecheap is a good registrar, and they always have coupon codes that will knock that down.

      You can start with shared hosting for around $5 per month, and knock that down if you can pay for a year upfront.

      Autoresponders are great, but they are something you can grow into. I know people who got started using the mailing list software included in most hosting accounts and doing broadcasts. If you do have some run in the budget, plans start at around $20/month.

      If you do the right things consistently, those numbers will only be relevant for a short time. After that, you pay for them out of revenue (commissions).

      One piece of advice. Beware of posters who insist that some product or service is absolutely necessary, and they just happen to have a link in their sig. There are a few Warriors who are like kids with a hammer - everything looks like a 'nail'.
