How important is a website to the success of your business?

I have been blogging since 2011 and had pretty much accepted that a website was an important element of success for my online business.

How true is that?

Looking around especially at affiliate marketing and CPA offers, it seems a website is actually more hassle than it's worth.

Is it possible to build a long-term business without a presence on the Internet, like a website?

Yes. It's called direct linking, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Traffic is a premium. You want to claim that traffic for your own before you send it to someone else. For that, you need something to send it to.

I can't imagine trying to do what I do without at least one site to use for funnels and bonus pages and images, etc.

I think It's not possible. you should maintain your website day by day. I suggest you To working hard on CPA and Affiliated Programs or PPC. It will give you lots of money through your website. I also worked on CPA and It gives me two to three thousand $ per month only for lightweight work. Now think if I work with it all my hardworking, then how much will it cost me to earn monthly? That's really Awesome Work

I think it all depends on how you see yourself. If you are only interested in promoting affiliate products, then you probably don't need your own website. If you see yourself as small business entrepreneur who wants to be their own boss, then a website or blog will be a useful way to build trust and credibility.

If you have a mailing list you can use your posts for subject matter. If you are primarily promoting one product, you can add testimonials. If you are promoting several, you can create pages for each and add their links to your header. If you are trying to establish ad campaigns, it's a lot easier to do with your own website. Google, for instance, prefers it and you can adjust your copy to meet their requirements. In addition to posts, you can add your own banners, videos, podcasts and a variety of other marketing promotions. And your posts have search engine ranking potential that can translate into more traffic and more sales.

It's certainly more work, but I believe that many bloggers and website owners started out promoting the links of others and, finding some success, decided to expand their horizons.

The good news is you're not committed to either strategy for life. Adapt or improve whatever methods work for you and grow with whatever resources and time will allow.

No matter what you do, at the very least you should have a hosting account so you can control the traffic / redirect it. However, it would be wise to have some form of a site or blog for social presence/proof.
