Can someone tell me how WORDPRESS helps you get traffic?

I'm new at IM, and I'm trying to get my page on top of Google.
The only way I know how to get traffic is through sending articles through Ezine and Isnare.
I know I'm a long way to the end, but can some explain to newbie how does wordpress get you on top of google?

And if there are any other sites exactly similar to wordpress that can help you rank high?

Thanks. :-)

Search Engine crawl to site using wp more than any others, since most of them were updated very often (Blog) and they already have great seo in their main structure... It help you to rank faster and better in SERP.. Thats how you get the traffic...

Just like doing ur article marketing.. post more and more great content.. and you will seeing traffic start coming in 2-6 weeks..

WP can or is set up out of the box to ping ping services when you create a post or make a change. WP also supplies an RSS feed. Once I converted all my sites over to WP minisites things really started taking off.
    Plugins like
    All in one seo
    google sitemap

make WP all that much better not including the availability of templates many that are SEO optimized.

I'm a starter, but I am willing to try everything I can to be a successful internet marketer and chase my dreams. If you can answer any of my questions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

And as Vince mentioned - The HTML/CSS 'structure' of your site. Now this depends on the theme. You can find many 'SEO Optimized' themes by searching Google. But the jist is this - Title and Content as high up as possible, navigation last.

This is how it should appear when you click 'View Source' in your browser - and it is how search engines will view it. They do give priority to the first content (keywords) they see.

And a tip, btw - put your keyphrase first in your titles - make it the first few words. Ex: Hilarious Cat Tricks - See funny fat cats do amazing things you never thought possible.

    Excellent post Kevin!

Cloudchaser, you're chasing clouds W.P. is like planting a garden. Plant the seeds, water it (add good content) and WP do it's thing. And keep adding quality content.

I'm a novice with WP to and in the past few months I've learned alot about it just by searching for "wordpress discussion groups and forums" in Google and away I went.

Using WP as your blog/site is really a good move you'll find out once you learn some more about it's built in capabilities and theme options.

I've been fortunate to have a really educated WP gal from England respond to my cries for help with WP on a really good WP forum (at least IMO) and she's taken the time to answer all of my questions of "how do I do this?" and "how do I make that work?" , greenhorn questions like "what's with this rss thingy here and how do I make it work?". Hey, I learned something new about WP I didn't understand b4 and people have been really cool in taking the time to give me the answers I've been looking for.

If you want, go ahead and PM me and I'll pass on a couple of really good WP forums that have been great for helping me out and answering my questions.
