**UPS... Google Will Do It Again! Is Your Money Site Ready For October 17?

Maybe you know it already. Starting on October 17, Google Chrome will scare your visitors away from you money sites by showing "Not Secure" inside the address bar if you are not using an ssl certificate.

Later, not exactly sure when, this "Not Secure" will be displayed in red so nobody can oversee it.

- Maybe this will also affect your ranking?

- Would like to hear your opinion on this, what are your plans?

- Where to get an ssl certificate for a god price?

- Or move to a different hosting company where ssl is free?

- What else is important to know?

I have not heard of this before but my site does have an SSL already as it is an e-commerce site. What other updates are they making? Any SEO algorithm changes or anything? Thanks

They have been doing this for a long time on certain pages. There is a site I log in to every day and when I load the login screen it shows the "not secure."

This is certainly not breaking news:

Does your site collect sensitive visitor information such as passwords, credit card information, or personal data? If so, be warned: by the end of January 2017, Google Chrome will begin marking sites without HTTPS as non-secure. Put another way; Chrome will now require HTTPS for sites that collect sensitive information. I just did a quick search and you can get SSL certs for as little as $4.00 per year. if SEO provides a large amount of traffic for you it might be worth it to grab a cheap one.

Relax this won't kill your business. As a marketer you live to expect things like this, and adapt to continue to make money. This is actually a good thing because it helps you to become a become a better marketer, and not rely on a particular person or company to make you successful online.

Search engine rely more on the website with secured connection and SSL gives conformity that data is protected. It surely will hold some value in term of ranking.

I would suggest to get SSL only if you have decent amount of traffic on your website.

I would buy from my hosting company so that I can reach them if anykind of help is required.

- Or move to a different hosting company where ssl is free?
SSL certificates are cheaper and one should not rely on free SSL.

- What else is important to know?
SSL surely cultivates a sense of confidence while using your website. This make them feel how secure is the connection.

This happened weeks ago to some of my blogs that don't have SSL certificates (they are not eCom sites so there is no need to have SSL).

It hasn't affected my traffic any, or anything else for that matter. None of my articles lost any rank. In fact, some even improved. In fact, I never even noticed it myself until I read about it somewhere.

Another attempt by Google to control the Internet that failed miserably.

People driving their selfs nuts for no reason. Just create a free cloudflare account, and you get free SSL. Problem solve. NEXT!

So it's 2018 and I just clicked on a homepage link placed on a youtube channel image. This is what happened:

Even when clicking on "Go to site", youtube redirects me to youtube. So no way to get to the page.

If you still don't got a ssl certificate, think again...
