YouTube Is The Future Of Internet Marketing !!!

Hi
I Just want to make sure that the following is Right...
If you can predict the future of Internet marketing, you can beat your competition to a great marketing strategy and enjoy success.

We've reached the tipping point where more and more people are going to do video searches and it's time to cash in on this new wave of technology.
If you put it off, you're going to be too late.
You need YouTube marketing and you need it NOW.

Your Thoughts...

I guess you discover that late, youtube has always been one of the best traffic source
for Internet Marketers. However i agree with you it is growing exponentially
    in recent times.

My thoughts? Certainly YouTube and other video channels are important strategies for online marketing; however . . . they are just strategies and how you implement them - the details of what you do with the channel - makes all the difference in the world.

Predicting the future of Internet marketing is no guarantee that you will be able to profit from your prediction and "beat the competition" as you say. No doubt there have been other video marketing channels that were similar to YouTube that no longer exist.

I'm not disputing your claim about the effectiveness of video marketing . . . rather I'm just suggesting that "beating the competition" is much much more complex than just being the first to predict something.

No one can tell that for sure, even its actual revenue is classified, unless you're a major stakeholder in Google, Inc, a director, YouTube ceo, or a very close and trusted person of Google guys.

Major corporations work that way. Your question is similar to "Do you know the actual recipe/ingredients of Coca-Cola?" Only 3-5 key folks know it. You have to work for them if you really want to know how big companies like Google work; their selection process is tough, though. I failed three times in a span of three years consecutively before they allowed me. As an alternative, you can watch the movie Internship.

I am not so sure about Youtube.

I have read that they are not going to allow links in the description box anymore because they don't want the visitors to click away from them.

Any truth about this? Because if this is true then whats the use of using them?, except for monetizing your YT videos with adsense ads? and that might not be the same income as a link to your website where you can monetize your site with both adsense, affiliate and CPA offers?

Putting good content up on YouTube is a great way to help insure the growth of YouTube, but how can you leverage their success?

What percentage of YouTube visitors will actually wind up on YOUR video?
How do you leverage those visitors into traffic to your own landing page?
...and what percentage of visitors to your channel, actually take that step?

I know it's do-able, but is it really the best use of your time?

Don't get me wrong. I love YouTube.

I've used it to watch videos on swapping out engines, or how to replace the 4WD transfer case on my SUV, but I've never purchased anything from YOUTUBE (or even clicked over to an optin page)... have you?

Personally, I think it's much more seamless to get optins or sales from videos posted on my own web site, and when those videos are on my web site I have a lot more flexibility for monetizing those videos.

Ok, then how do you drive traffic to your own videos? Do they get views on their own--I mean are you the traffic source like YouTube? If yes, then ok, otherwise, your post doesn't make any sense, and don't tell us you drive traffic via PPC, FB, list and bla bla bla...

As far as I know, we put video content in YouTube to get traffic, build a brand recognition and awareness and much more. Even companies like Buzzfeed put hundreds of videos (costing $$ millions) per year for what? adsense? think twice before churning out misleading info.

What was misleading about this: "Personally, I think it's much more seamless to get optins or sales from videos posted on my own web site, and when those videos are on my web site I have a lot more flexibility for monetizing those videos."

By the way, using videos as the first step in your funnel is not the only way to use videos.

And if he drives traffic via FaceBook, for instance, so what? Why is that wrong? (PS to this question, Buzzfeed uses FaceBook.)

PS to the whole thing: Sid's post makes a lot of sense to me.

I don't know if any of this will mean anything to you, or not - but unlike many here, I don't try to shortcut my marketing efforts.

I don't look for ways to expend the "least effort" when it comes to promoting my online businesses. I won't even promote a product unless I can justify putting some long-term effort into that promotion, and my promotions consist of much more than a one-time mailing to my list, or adding just one more video to YouTube (in fact, I don't even have a YouTube channel).

Instead, I run about 15 fairly substantial web sites (2 separate memberships, 2 separate forums, and multiple WP blogs). Most of those are in related niches, so there is a lot of opportunity for cross-promotion.

I have a twitter account, but don't use it for much except to keep track of the latest garbage that Trump spews out. I think of it as my "entertainment channel" ;D I don't have an Instagram account, nor a Pinterest account.

I have 5 separate FaceBook pages, all supporting different web properties that I own. I have a Skype group just for my customers.

Lastly, I have a private affiliate program with just under 3,000 affiliates. A few of them DO use YouTube to promote my products. I'm happy for them to do that work and pay them commissions for any sales they are able to generate using their YouTube channel.

At any given time, I may be involved in one or more joint ventures (currently 2) with other marketers / product creators.

i agree with most of your points. But i like to change a little to "video is the NOW of Internet Marketing".

Youtube is just a platform that get most attention for video right now, aside from youtube, people making video should also make short video version for Facebook and instagram story.

Still, Youtube is still the best right now and every business and marketers should use it to get great result.

I think the only thing that has held Youtube back is that video creation takes some work. Most everyone learned how to write in the 1st grade, but video has a learning curve that only relatively recently began to become less of an obstacle. A lot of great programs out there to help with the process, but its still usually more difficult to put together than a blog post.

The irony is that video is now seen as more effective because viewing one requires a lot less effort than reading a blog post. You can sit there passively while the info flows by. Reading requires more effort and concentration.

Youtube is great, but it's one of those marketing strategies that depend on the "will" of the marketer. Some people don't feel like create videos. They'd rather write articles. Also, some people do Youtube marketing to the "T"... and still dont get much views and 0 visitors to their site. Smart marketing and market research should still be done no matter what the marketing medium is. Just because you ask someone to subscribe/like/share doesn't mean that they will do it - in massive quantity.

You have an interesting perspective but video marketing is not a new discovery. YouTube has been around for years and it's just one vehicle that you can use to extend your reach to a new audience.

For some people, it's a great idea and it works for them.

But for the majority - it's a platform that should be used only if you actually enjoy creating videos.

Because if you don't, you'll most likely be pumped in the beginning but will give up on it.

I think all internet marketers should be adding videos to their marketing strategy to help build and nurture a relationship with their audience.

It helps to show them that you're a REAL person and not just some face behind the screen.

    For that purpose...

I would have to agree with you on it's effectiveness.

YouTube really only has one thing going for it... it's YouTube. They were the first and they are the biggest. Every time anyone wants to look for a video about anything they look at YouTube. Since it is a Google property it has an unfair advantage in video serch results (Google may as well write "YouTube" instead of "Video" under the search bar).

It's called the network effect. Because there are more users there are more viewers. Because there are more viewers there are more users. But if they don't innovate, I suspect someone will steal their lunch. Maybe not tomorrow, but it could happen. So I agree with Brent, the post is about 10 years late.

So since we're on the topic... what *IS* the next big thing?
