Offloading Failed Sites

Hi Warriors,

I was wondering what would be the best way to try and recoup loses from failed amazon affiliate site startups? I have 5 websites that have 100% unique content (between 15 to 40 posts) that I would like to try and sell off basically for the content value only since the sites all generate little to no traffic. What would be the best way to go about this process?

    You can try Flippa. List it one as a starter site, see how much you can get for it. If the amount is anywhere near decent you can list the other sites. With little traffic don't expect much.

    just let the domains expire and let them go. who would want to buy a failed site anyway. Unless you do not plan on telling people they failed.

      It could be OP just doesn't know how to drive traffic to the sites.

    You don't say why the sites failed to generate traffic. How much promotion have you done? How old are the sites? What's the product niche? Is it well researched?

    It's possible they have some value as ready-made review sites, depending on the quality of the site and the content. Alternatively, you could try offering the content separately - maybe as a PLR pack. Can't really suggest much more without answers to the above questions.

    Thanks for the responses. In terms of failure, we had built the sites with intent of going for organic searches. Backlinks took a lot of effor that didnt pan out as expected with these 5 sites. Some of our other sites had more success.

    The idea was the content itself should be worth something to someone. Not expecting to get a ton out of the sites or content but trying to recoup some of the investment.

    All of the sites are based around thr gardening niche, different aspects of it. All of the content was written by a writer with a horticulture background and she knows her stuff.

    Sites are 1 year old.
    No payed promotions but some attempts to back link. (Not enough).

      Since you only want to recoup some of your investment, I'd put them up for auction. Be honest about your traffic situation, but emphasize that the content was created by someone with a professional background.

      As you say, someone may buy the site(s) just for the content value.

      You could even offer them as a bundle with XX professionally written posts.

      The gardening niche can be very profitable.

      Why didn't you look for additional traffic sources besides SEO? There's plenty of gardening forums.

    What are your expectations on how much you can earn from them?
    Depending on this you could consider selling the sites or just articles one by one.

    Honestly id be happy with 75 to 200 for each of them. There is quite a bit of content on some of them.

      All the work I have done has been towards organic search using keyword research and writing articles geared to those keywords. We have launched 7 sites and 2 have seen success while the other 5 not so much. After thinking about it more i couldnt pin point why the 2 succeeded while the others failed.
