    Aria Carter,

You don't do guest blogging on your website.

You do guest blogging on other people's websites in your niche.

Can be internet marketing, health or personal development and hobbies of your own.

You can do a Google search by typing Internet Marketing Blogs, Weight Loss Blogs or Personal Development Blogs if you know what I mean.

Based on your statement, I suggest you start off with blog commenting first by reading other people's blog posts and commenting on them whether you agree or disagree and giving constructive and relevant feedback.

Because most bloggers don't like other people making guest posts in their blogs especially people they do not know and trust.

    And even more so newbies.

Once you commented on their blogs over time say about 1-2 months and people get to know and like you, then you can ask the blog owner for permission by emailing him or her if you can do a guest post on his or her blog.

Just put a sticky at the top that you are looking for other quality bloggers who would like to contribute solid content with regular posting on your blog.

I am assuming you want to do LEGIT guest posting - ie., you don't pay for guest post publication

First, post quality content on your blog targeting your niche

    Showcase your EXPERTISE

Next, hire a VA to find the top blogs in your niche and CROSS REFERENCE this info with SEMRUSH and MOZ and Alexa

Focus on finding the top 50 in terms of traffic and link value

Engage the people behind these on social media

Establish credibility with your Twitter responses

After you're credible, PITCH them based on the content THEY NEED

I get a number of guest blogging inquiries for my site each month.

They're all misdirected, because I don't publish any guest blog posts.

But more blatantly, they're almost always on topics I have never published anything on, ever. What a waste of energy - theirs as well as mine!

So lesson #1 is to target only blogs that you definitively know publish guest posts. An excellent clue to this: a navigation link that says "write for us."

Lesson #2 is to highlight why or how your post will benefit the blog's readers. Don't promise the moon - be specific. Such as: "This post explains in down-to-earth terms an overlooked danger of buying from companies in other states."

    Hope this is helpful!

Yes, unfortunately some Newbies and struggling marketers have been fed the logic that any Action is good Action. Unfocused and irrelevant Action can actually be worse in some cases than no Action at all,

Wannabe guest bloggers, if you can avoid these two fatal errors, you halfway to success.

If you comb through a blog and find zero guest posts, that's a clue. Your template email isn't likely to make you the first.

This is another one that should be obvious. I used to have a blog centered around fishing, boating, camping, etc. but one idiot kept insisting on blind submitting articles about toy trains. Either he was more than a few fries short of a happy meal, or more likely, he was using one of those digital manure spreaders spamming his articles to any site with a contact address.

Which brings up a third fatal error. This is one place where automation is not your friend.

Once you have a blogger's attention (hunt around - Ryan Biddulph has several good posts on how to do it), send them a personal proposal for a guest post. Note, I said personal, not just personalized.

As a publisher, I can't begin to tell you how special that email addressed to "Dear [first_name]" makes me feel. Automatic, reflexive Delete.

There are sites that allow you to join as a guest blogger. They don't offer much incentives though. I became a blog contributer/guest blogger for a few website owners after i did some writing gigs for them on fiverr. If you have the drive to keep writing for others, and you have flair, and if you don't mind doing research on many topics - at around 500-1000 words a piece.... then guest blogging may be for you. Just make sure they pay you what you're worth. You have to figure out what YOUR worth is. And understand that you are also trading time for money.

    Hi Aria,

I am a big fan of doing 2 things to set the guest blogging table:

1 - practice your writing daily in a Word document

2- build relationships with fellow bloggers in your niche by promoting them and by commenting on their blog.

These 2 fundamentals steps set the table to land guest posts.

Real world example; a few years ago I published comments on Blogging Tips Dot Com for a few weeks. I left maybe 5 to 10 in-depth, 2-3 paragraph, personalized comments.

The site owner Zac Johnson emailed me, asking if I wanted to guest posts on Blogging Tips. I felt a little nervous at first but gobbled up the opportunity and ran with it.

Posting in-depth comments was not enough. I had to have the writing skills to be able to write in clear, confident fashion. Enter the writing practice advice I offer to every single blogger I ever meet.

Zac asked me to guest post because I built a bond by adding value to his posts and by promoting his posts on social media, and by me practicing my writing every day for years (often completely offline, until I gained confidence), I honed my writing skills to become a kinda in demand guest post.

This takes patience and persistence, nailing down guest posting gigs, but if it were easy everybody would be doing it, easily.

Definitely worth it though. I have made so many good buddies through guest posting and also have a DA of 49 and something like 14,000 links in to my blog through the power of guest posting. Make it all about building blogging friendships through creating valuable guest posts and the traffic and links and Google juice will flow your way.

When it comes to starting guest posting you cannot ignore the importance of quality content on your own blog. How can you expect someone else to publish your posts on their blogs till the time you do not have high-quality engaging content already published on your own blog?

To attract more guest post opportunities there are few things that you should take care of; such as

    1) Quality of your own content
    2) Authority of your own blog
    3) How well you can pitch to another blogger
    4) How your guest post can be beneficial for the blogger and his readers.

I have been featured on various blogs and every day attracting new opportunities where bloggers ask me to write on their blogs.

I am getting such opportunities because of the content I have published on my blog and the content I have published on other blogs.

Write quality and relevant post to submit it on other blogs. Approach the blog owner and ask them if they did like to accept a guest post from you. Mentioned everything in your email. Also read their guest posting guidelines before crafting a guest post.

Firstly, you should create your blog with 5-7 examples of your articles. It could a blog of a fictional person or your personal.
Then you should find sites which are accepting guest posts, for example, you can find some of them here: List of 50+ Quality Blogs That Accept Guest Posts
After that consider the topic carefully and don't forget that it must include the link to your website and this link must look organic in this post.
Contact with publisher and give him/her 2-3 ideas for the future post, your bio and link to your blog
Write the post and send it to the publisher
    That's all!

Guest blogging is currently the most effective tool of securing honorable backlinks from high authority sites.

To grant permission to a plethora of bloggers seeking to post on your site, you need to trim out useful contents than the lesser useful ones. To do this, check for blogs that support your website's cause and will invariably benefit your venture. Only then grant permission.
