Selling new sites is tough. There are millions of them for sale.

You'd be better off finding clients who are looking for someone to build a site for them.

Do you know how I can?
I don't have much money to start marketing so can you suggest some ways I can get clients?

  • To be honest not really, becuase there are so many out there.

But, if you bring a unique perspective to it then yes.

    E.g. membership site

Ecom site ready to go (even there is alot of them, it has a high percieved value)

Software site (which you can buy whitelabel rights for and resell) again, high percieved value.

Absolutely not but what if it has some registered people like around 100 people registered there?
And some organic views with little earnings?

        Samar29:

Most new web sites have no intrinsic value unless the domain they are built on has easily recognized value (like a one word domain, or a popular or trending name). People pay for sites that have consistent traffic (probably more than you're talking about above) and that earn monthly revenue.

I think the key to selling a new site that doesn't have traffic or income is to find the right buyer - one that sees value in the site you're offering. And as others have said, because there are many, many sites for sale, you are going to have to put some recognizable value into your site that isn't found in other sites for sale. It could be content, images, a unique site structure, a great domain name, or anything else that sets your site apart from all the others on the selling block.

The challenge, as I see it, is in finding the right buyer. How are you going to get the buyer to pay you for your time spent in setting up and developing the site plus a nice profit?

For instance, lets say you spend 4 hours in setting up a site, finding a good domain name and registering it, adding content to it, building the site structure and a few links, etc.

Let's say you are able to sell the site for $40 (which, btw, is more than I've seen many new sites selling for). Without making a profit, per se, you have just sold your time for $10/hour. Is that enough to make you happy? I don't know, maybe. But my point is . . . any new site you sell is going to take you time (and probably a small investment) in order to get it ready to sell. What you get for the site may not be worth the amount of time it takes you to create it.

Not really the best business model. I know it worked really well back in like 2008. Best bet is to get it to $100 per month for 3 months or so and then flip it. You'll make a lot more money that way.

    I hope this helps.

Yeah so basically showing that my site generated $300 in only 3 months but what if it will not generate any money under the new owner?
    What will happen then?

Sell the whole thing, not just the site.

I mean, sell the site for $x + $x more to show them how you got the $300.

You get this site and the step-by-step way I made $x a month with this site.

You show them how if and only if they buy.

It won't be easy to make money with something like this. A few years ago this might have worked, but with all the technology available today it's just too easy for the regular person to set up their website.

If you can make money with the site and show people then you might stand a better chance but a site that's new is a lot harder.

If you want to make lots of money online then you have to understand that people want to buy solutions they don't want to have to do the work themselves. This is the sad truth with most people who come wanting to make money online, they want a lot for nothing.
