    Those are the old clickbank links which will still credit you. The newer ones are jibberish because of their new system.

    Those are old affiliate links. For the latest links they do look like gibberish

    the 'gibberish' links are the ones you want.. they're encoded to help reduce affiliate commission theft. Your prospect should never see the link itself though - you need to be 'cloaking' them with a redirect, etc...

    I notice that your aff ID is still shown.

    For example you create a hoplink for www.someproduct.com,
    You get abcd1234xyz.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=trackingID

    when you visit this website, the url will change to something like
    www.someproduct.com

    so visitors can still guess that you are an affiliate, and they might purposely remove the ?hop=myusername at the back.

      it does not matter if they remove it.. the cookie has already been set. They would need to log in to clickbank and generate their own hoplink in order to overwrite your cookie.

        Or just clear clickbank cookies?

          I think the real problem is with people replacing your cb id with their own - not people who just grudgingly try to cut you out of the commission. Granted, it's still pretty easy replace those id's..

          I also like to be able to hide my network of sites from people who use tools like "affiliate elite" to try to reverse engineer my business - those tools spider sites looking for cb id's.

              tinyurl, bit.ly.
              Or you could put javascript on a webpage that redirects visitors to the merchant's website, like this:

              <SCRIPT language="JavaScript">
              <!--
              window.location="http://...";
              //-->
              </SCRIPT>

              There is a php redirect code too, and from what I've heard, it is better than javascript, but I'm not too sure about it.
