Hi there!

We have a big old site of our company with its products A. And the two of the directories (menu sections) of site A are another additional sites - B and C. Sites B and C are devoted to one of the types of our brand's goods; they have links from site The main menu. Both of them has traffic (organic, PPC, direct), and site B has 50% direct traffic. Now we are considering putting sites B and C under site A directory like siteA.com/sitesA+B.

I would be thankful for the thoughts about the risks/reward of moving those additional sites into general site's directory siteA.com/sitesA+B. Is it a good idea or this is a risky option with a doubtful win?

Very confusing. Can you replace the A,B,C with non-competitive industries to help me (and others) understand your question better?

    Why merge?

    Advantages of not merging:

you can end up 1-6 in SERPs for one keyword (yes, I know, you need to do the SEO on 6 pages, but it's possible; even if it's not, you still get more traffic).

you can create good backlinks for site A from sites b and c.

    Disadvantages of not merging?
You may have to explain on sites a, b, and c that you own all 3 of them?

You have to manage 3 sites, not one... (however, that doesn't mean, based on what you say, that the extra pages on site a will require a lot less managing than what you're doing now).

What's you goal? Why did the questions pop up?
