I've got a tech question involving the confluence of IT and marketing.
I'm consulting with an MLM company that has hundreds of subdomains, one for each promoter in the company.
e.g. tom.companysite.com, jerry.companysite.com, susan.companysite.com, etc.
Each subdomain is a copy of companysite.com, but set up in such a way that Tom, Jerry, or Susan get credit for sales on their subdomain. It's set up this way so that it's dead easy for promoters to get commissions by telling their prospects to simply visit their subdomain.
There must be a better way to do this. Besides the issue of having hundreds of copies of the core website, it makes tracking metrics or A/B testing landing pages next to impossible.
Any ideas on how to restructure the IT in order to make it easier for data analytics and marketing people while still making it super easy for promoters to send prospects to a site that will serve commission automatically?
