I'm so happy that I got my 1st offline client today

!

I wanted to share some positive energy and words of encouragement
with those that are struggling and frustrated trying to get their 1st client.

Here is a quote that I read daily that helps me when I start to doubt
my skills and most of all myself, maybe it will help you too. I just
wanted to give something back to everyone!

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road your trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit

Life is queer with it's twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,

Don't give up though the pace seems slow,

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,

YOU MUST NOT QUIT

  Hello Kate! I'm jealous, but congratulations! I failed the medical for my pilot's license because I have rods in my spine. The medical examiner said if I landed hard my spine could shatter! My thought: "Who the hell cares!" Can you imagine a gyrocopter landing hard unless bits fall off it? And in that case it doesn't matter what sort of back you have!

Posts like these always show the value of perseverance. Quite a few enter IM with the intention of becoming rich overnight - a misconception not aided by the vast number of overhyped ebooks relating to IM. To be successful online you need the drive and determination that you'd require to be successful offline (I'm preaching to the converted, I know ).

Now that you have achieved one sale, use that as motivation to complete your next sale. Congratulations and keep going!

  So true. I felt like the scene in the movie hitch when he kissed the girl at the end of the date and he was so happy that he started dancing in the street and then he turned to make sure the woman wasn't looking.
  
  @jschop I agree. You do have to get to a point where you stop reading some of the ebooks because you start to feel like you need to be on the short bus or something.
  
  Overhyped books that boast how you can do xyz in 1 day and start instantly rolling in mega $$$ tend to make people lose good judment and common sense.

  I know I still have to keep working hard and continue to preserve. I just wanted to take a minute and encourage others that felt like I did that it is possible and to keep trying.

I just got my first sale, it was only $33 but god it was the best $33 i ever made. It sucks when you see your clickbank at $0 every time you log on and it feels like the work you've put into it is going unnoticed and that it's impossible for you but soon as that first sale comes in you realize it is possible and your work doesn't go unnoticed.

I'm glad I'm able to give something back to a great community. I would
often read the forum and would envision the moment when I had something of value to give back instead of always taking.

I know it's not much that I'm offering, but I struggled and faced a lot of rejection trying to get my 1st client and thought I could encourage other
newbies that maybe feeling the same way to keep going and stop worrying about getting your 1st deal.

My break through came when I said from this day on:
1. I'm going to trust myself and stop worrying about getting a sale.
2. I'm and going to give 100% effort
3. I'm going to DO ME!!!

Honestly, I'm not sure what you sold or what your product is, but I'm proud of you nonetheless for getting your first sale!! LOL It's tough and rewarding all at the same time.

I sold autoresponder and website service 1st because that was their 1st
priority. They also need video, social networking and article marketing. My
goal is to build relationships that allow me to keep going back with ideas to help clients continue to grow their business.

@sharpturn- Don't give up. Just make yourself a list of daily goals and
commit to doing it everyday regardless of the outcome.
I sent out hundreds of emails, cold called hundreds of businesses in person, answer CL ads, sent mailers, even faxed letters and joined networking groups.

I had several people flake, tire kickers or the ones that want the info so they could pass it along to their designer.I finally stopped thinking about it and just focused on implementing my daily goals and when I was least expected it was like BAM! It will come for you, maybe not when you think it should happen but it will. Believe it!

@James Lancaster- I started May 26, 2009. It's been a challenging road but I'm hoping the work I did along with the work I'm doing now will bring me another sale faster.

@Kris Sunil- Thanks. I think taking the time to thank all the Warriors is the least I could do. I have met some great people on this forum and if it was for people willing to take the time to share their knowledge, I wouldn't be where I am right now.

This is not my 1st business, but often times people feel that if they share their knowledge with
you, then you are going to take a slice of their pie. That's not true here. This forum is great because if you want to succeed you just have to sit down, READ, pick a niche and then take ACTION.

This is better than any class that I have taken because it real people, giving real proven ideas that work. Not someone reading from a book that has never taken action. I was always taught that if someone gives you something, it only takes a second to say THANK YOU.

That is the reason why I posted. When I was having days of self doubt, I would come to the forum and look for a post about someone getting their 1st sale. Their excitement would be what kept me going.

The mind is a tricky thing...it takes longer to get rid of a negative thought or that feeling of rejection, but a positive thought gets removed out of your mind so much faster and easier. Makes you say hmmmm!

Warriors that take the time to post their 1st sale may not know how they
have impacted someone else to keep going that felt like quitting.

Not everyone has the support of their loved ones and for some, the Warriors might be all that some people have.
