How can I test my Paypal payment link?

I want to test my paypal payment link. What is the best way to do this?

PayPal won't let me log in as the buyer and the seller.

I think I read somewhere that there is way to test everything.

Thanks

I have two PayPal accounts for this purpose. One is my business account in my name and the other is a personal account in my husband's name and with a separate bank account. It comes in really handy, especially to test PayPal links.

Let me know your link and I will test it for you...

Rob's suggestion number 1 is what I use all the time.

Having a business/premier and a personal Paypal account comes in handy all the time, so it's worth setting it up. Remember your personal Paypal account is free, and if you just do $0.01 tests, a few bucks in it will last a lifetime.

    cheers
    Sam

PS. As a slight aside, keep in mind that using the Paypal Sandbox can actually introduce errors that don't exist in the live system. Thats why I'd prefer to test live.

        You can use paypal's sandbox.

If you don't have a developer account create one and you will be able to run as many tests as you want without any external help and without dealing with commissions or refunds.

          I use method [1] too.

I don't use the Sandbox because it doesn't let me test the actual process that customers will use.

It doesn't matter how much testing you do with a new system - you still worry until the first sale comes in successfully from a real customer, and they're often that's day's customer who forgets to click the 'return to merchant' button LOL!

          Cheers,

          Neil

Paypal Sandbox, if you need to run multiple tests to get it going exactly how you want.
Otherwise, with 2 real accounts, you'll end up paying a lot in fees.

I always use paypal sandbox but I use real email address so that I can confirm that everything is okay.

Is there a way to just make a link instead of a button? IE Click here to order?

Oh man that button is Awesome!

Now people can post actual encrypted buttons on their WSO's.

I was all geared up to make a thread to answer this question, but the search function has saved the day.

You can't! well, you can but not easily.

You'll find yourself creating 2 whole new accounts and then you have to login as the seller and create a whole new setup/button.

Then you'll have to login with your buyer account, find the sellers butto...

You know what? take a chance on the button and assume it's working.

(megafrustrated after doing all above only to find it doesn't let you test subscription buttons accurately)

I always use method 4, ask a friend to help you to test the link is quite simple.

I usually just ask one of my team members to buy something from me and then give them the cash back
