Are you a WARRIOR or a WIMP?

The true Warrior does not grumble and whine about recessions, bank closures, stinkin' Dow, some suit named Freddi Mac, loss of sales, lower profits, or any of a number of woes.

A Warrior follows Bushido (The Way Of The Warrior) and never sees failure. Failure is not allowed.

Yet, I've seen more than my fill of negative posts here lately, which makes me wonder: Are we all Warriors? Or are there Wimps in our midst?

Let the true Warriors post only positive, business-building, or humourous posts. Let the Wimps be silenced. For our new Warriors do not come here for gloom and doom -- they can get that by opening a newspaper.

So ... are you a Warrior or a Wimp?

In all seriousness, my income really did NOT start jumping through the roof until I changed my mindset. In fact, my income more than quadrupled when I did the following:

        1. Stopped watching TV - I didn't watch TV for months many years ago and since then I only watch a few hours a week (usually sports, 60 Minutes, Dateline, etc.).

        2. I stopped whining and complaining - The energy I used to waste on complaining and whining actually had a real opportunity cost to it. Once I started to stop complaining about obstacles and how unfair the world was and focused more on solutions, relationship-building, and just getting the job done, it was almost like magic how well my businesses began doing.

        3. I developed an abundance mindset - Without this mindset there's no way I would have survived in some of the most competitive markets and niches......

        4. Dumped friends and acquaintances who were energy vampires and spent less time with negative, unsupportive family members.

        5. Learned and studied time management from a variety of experts and authors (this boosted my productivity immensely).

So I'd say I'm a Warrior through and through!

      Cool post Kevin.

If you're going to make money and keep making money in any business you need to stop complaining and start working.

If times are tougher you work harder and you work smarter.

Hard work never killed anyone and contrary to popular belief using your brain actually doesn't make it explode...even if you're a hamster.

      Kindest regards,

While you can't "fail" by not taking action there is absolutely ZERO possibility of gain!

Taking action will make all the difference.

      John. My favourite quote:

"That which does not kill us makes us stronger." - Friedrich Nietzsche

He has another I quite like too:

I was working with an semiconductor manufacturing firm till Aug 2007 as a Sr. Maintenance Engineer.I always had dream to start my own business , although I was making plans to do business but only on papers and never took action untill Mar.2007. One fine day I thought that why I am unable to take action.I really started to find the cause of inactiveness, from that day my mind set has been changed and I was ready to take action as well as risk.I resigned from my corporate job and started an off line business and never think of failure at any moment because now my entire career was on stake on this business and I just can't afford to fail.I had invested a lot of money in this business after taking a huge loans. My house was mortgage and I had no option but succeed. I was determined to be successfull and finally after one year my business is growing at very rapid speed , I have repaid all my loans ,buy a new car.So in my opinoin if you are determined and had a right mindset you will be successfull in any venture.

Warrior actually has a very personal meaning to me.

My father was a truck driver and his handle was Warrior. He passed at the tender age of 49, and since that time I have really embarrassed the term Warrior.

Also, my wife looked up the meaning of my last name, Herod, and the meaning is...

Song of a hero or Warrior.

My father was a Warrior in his fight with Cancer and I intend to continue with what he taught me and live my life as a Warrior.

Never giving in or backing down to challenges that I am faced with, And just like my Father Fight until the day I take my last breath.

    Warrior here.

For what it's worth, the warrior spirit comes from who you are and isn't about your circumstances and what you do. The whimps are whimps because they believe their circumstances dictate their response. The other class of whimps get their kicks by tearing others down and by judging others by what they do, as though it defines them.

This forum is no place for whimps.

I'm honored to stand amongst you all.

I don't let anyone stop me. This includes ending friendships with negative (but well meaning people). Samurai? Sure. But I study Ninjutsu. So I'm a Ninja. Interesting note. When you pull apart the Kanji that makes up Ninjutsu. it can be translated to "blade over heart". Basically it means even though the enemy holds their blade over our heart we will prevail. So Ninjutsu is the art of perseverance. And thats the main ingredient in all we do online. And that is warriorship. PERIOD.

The Character above means "battle", "warfare" or "military"
The one below means "soldier" or "person"

A little thought though - be aware that as a Warrior and in the spirit of the Samurai, I'll make sure that I won't be defeated; I've got to say that I'm not that keen on disembowelling myself - never have been - never will be!

Actually, neither am I. I much prefer disemboweling my enemy. Makes so much more sense.

                Hey Kevin,

                Very interesting question.....

I think it depends on how you view yourself in the dark hours
of night. Many people say that they are Warriors, but they don't
"really believe it" in their heads and hearts.

Your real beliefs come out when you are placed under extreme
pressure......that's when you find out if you really have what
it takes to be a Warrior/Champion/Leader etc

                Adversity builds character......

And yes, for the most part I am a Warrior.....

                Regards

                Greg

That would be Seppuku and then after the samurai disembowels himself another samurai, usually a kinsman or friend, would slice his head off.

Oh the things we could learn from the past! Honor REALLY meant something then and dishonor, shame. and disgrace usually resulted in Seppuku.

      I can take a punch.

In my business life over the last 12 years I've been beaten, stabbed, shot with cannons, burned at the stake, hung, lynched, recessed, depressed, cheated on, laughed at, run over by trains, buses and all manner of things. The way things are going...they're gonna crucify me.

No matter what...I will live the life I want to live at some point. Even if I have a few heart attacks along the way.

    Hey Kevin,

    I wish the question was..

    Do you dig dirt
    or
    do you dig gold?

Seems like lately, too many people are focused on digging dirt. I want the latter. People don't learn much from dirt-diggers.

I may need to go away for a while and find a gold mine. Where's that Hillbilly Marketer?

Samurai, the way of the Warrior.

Strategy is the craft of the warrior. Commanders must enact the craft, and troopers should know this Way.

There is no warrior in the world today who really understands the Way of strategy.... It is said the warrior's is the twofold Way of pen and sword, and he should have a taste for both Ways.

Students of the Ichi school Way of strategy should train from the start with the sword and long sword in either hand. This is a truth: when you sacrifice your life, you must make fullest use of your weaponry. It is false not to do so, and to die with a weapon yet undrawn.

In strategy your spiritual bearing must not be any different from normal. Both in fighting and in everday life you should be determined though calm. Meet the situation without tenseness yet not recklessly, your spirit settled yet unbiased.

If the enemy thinks of the mountains, attack like the sea; and if he thinks of the sea, attack like the mountains.

If we watch men of other schools discussing theory, and concentrating on techniques with the hands, even though they seem skillfull to watch, they have not the slightest true spirit.

    Hey Kev,

    Great post!

Yeah, I saw the gloom and doom posts the last copule of days, and was thinking about mice and men, but I like your way better - Warriors or Whimps.

There's one thing that I've learned over the years ... Failure is not an option. It's not even in my vocabulary because there is always a way that I haven't tried out yet, and untill I've exhausted every possible way, I have not been defeated.

Way to keep the positive spin going. Thinking negative only generates those kinds of results.

History is full of rulers who will only listen to "yes man" and kill all those who dare to bring bad news. Saddam Hussein certainly believed he could win the war agains the US because none of his generals dared to say otherwise.

Being a full-timer now, I cannot afford to be negative on my business. But I would certainly appreciate advice on prevailing trends and potential scams.

I completely agree with what Allen is doing with the forum. At one time, so many "negative" threads were deleted that I visited less often because there was much less information of value.

If you really just want to hear postive stuff. You should buy all the IM courses that promises thousands of dollars a day working one minute in your underwear.

I used to work with someone in an office who had a pretty nice way of
dealing with the concern that started this thread. He used to say "stop
whining" pretty emphatically. He wasn't serious and it was always
enjoyable to hear, possibly partly because he did not get to say it to me.

But the surprising thing was how often he got to say it, at least once
for every day I was ever near that office.
