"Fun" site or "professional" site?

I have a site that I have had as a hobby for 3-4 years now. I am thinking of switching it from a hobby site to a site to produce a full-time income (eventually).

It is a niche site for home business moms. I am trying to decide whether or not to keep it a semi-professional tone ("_____ Home Business Moms") or have it more "fun" and quirky and have it show off more of my personality ("________ Home Biz Mamas").

Can either work? Would the "quirky" site be more "niche-ish"? Or is a more professional site better?

Check out the other sites in that niche.

If there are already plenty of 'serious' home business mom sites, why not try a fun and quirky site?

Try standing out from the crowd. With the proper promotion you could end up doing quite well.

I am leaning towards the fun site, myself. It is more "me" - plus my members are already used to my weird....er...."quirky" personality, anyway.

...I think that's your answer right there. Listen to your members. If that's what they're responding well to and are used to, then unleash the fun & quirkiness on them. I'm sure you'll have more fun with it too, which makes it better all the way around.

Maybe it is too late.. but I should add my voice. Looking at your theme, a fun site would "easily get a click". Most moms love fun and those are the ones who will give you fun to work with...

There are other themes where one must be striclty proffesional. I can't wait to see your fun site

I feel you should stick with fun site, don't make it professional
