Need Urgent help with blog

I hve a blog where most of the spammers are leaving comments for backlinks. I could not control them manually. I want to apply spam filters. How can I install this, where can I get this?

I am sorry, this may be a silly questions, I never had done this before... Please help me friends.

    It is a free plugin for WordPress

    Upload it to your plugins folder and activate

        But if the OP had anyone working on his installation (if he is even using WP), they may have removed/de-activated it for some reason?

        I only stopped to think afterwards that he might not even be using WP....

    There are a couple fo plugins you can use Akismet comes with wordpress. It requires an api form wordpress.com. After you sign up you can get it by giong to your profile and it will appear there. You can also use another free plugin called wp-captcha-free It's real easy to install. After you install it activate it. Workls like a champ!
